anyone in or heard about the new MHA program? Would love some info
Greetings, everyone. I am planning to apply for Masters in Architecture (2025 intake) at LU. However, I’m an international student with excellent GPA (91%), and kinda good portfolio.
But the problem is my english proficiency test is slightly below the required score.
Do you think I should proceed with the application? Could I possibly receive conditional acceptance, or would it be better to retake the test to meet the requirements? Any advice is much appreciated.
Appreciate your guidance….
I plan on working to be an accountant and I'm wondering if taking SPAD would be a good opportunity for me since it is a commerce degree, however I'm not a big sports person and I don't necessarily intend to even work in the sports industry, though being an accountant in the sports industry is fine since my goal is just to be one, there isn't really a big deal about where I'd work as one lol, so I'm wondering if it's something I should consider
Im not the best at math and physics but i got admitted into Laurentian University for mechanical engineering and i start in January. I was wondering if the university will offer help for students like myself and if they didnt what i should study in preparation for the course.
Thanks in advance!
anyone here taken the Masters of healthcare administration through Laurentian? looking for thoughts of quality of program and general feel
So I'm reading that it's mandatory to take the coop courses, but that the university cannot guarantee you a job.
So what happens if you can't find coop job, you can't graduate? Or you can still graduate, as long as you just take the coop courses at least?
What's the % of students that don't end up finding jobs?
I’m looking at initially getting a bachelors degree, as that’s needed to get into teachers college.
So I’d be… I guess what they would consider a “mature student”. I’m looking at betting a BA in Psychology, that seems to be the subject which seems most interesting to me.
What would my first steps need to be? Overall, what are the requirements to get into this program as a “mature student” and are there any online options that could be done? I do see Laurentian has that option, any tips?
Thank you!
I'm thinking of applying for the sports administration program but Im not totally sure about, and is there any other similar programs at other universities that aren't so far from the tone to area?
Title says it all. I already have a BA in Psychology, but I can’t imagine that a lot or anything will transfer.

Anyone who is an ISWK student on-campus? I'm looking to connect with anyone in the program but especially first years too. Miigwetch :)

I’m a professional type, very clean, kind and easy to get along with and have been told I’m quite good-looking.
if post is up I’m still looking. Sudbury only
Just curious if anyone else was told this. My sister just moved into residence over the weekend and went to get her bus pass and she was told she couldn’t get one for something about being French or being in a French program (I’m not exactly sure of the details, but being registered in a French program or classes in French was a salient point) She’s not registered in any French classes or a French program - regardless their website states each student gets a bus pass. So I’m just wondering if anyone else has been told this or knows the reasoning behind this.
PSA: Any students having meal plans are better off spending with the smaller food kiosks on campus (ie, Subway, Tim’s, Quesada, Blends & Curries).
Had breakfast last week (some welcome back breakfast thing) at the GH and the food was horrible - notably the watery eggs and rubber ham - shoulda stuck with the fruit only! Also that week, I went to the counter on the outside of the GH at lunch. All they had were burgers. The burger patties were literally sitting in 2 inches of water in a warmer tray 🤮. The server pulled out a patty and it was dripping water - gtfo. Cooking tips for the chef: at least keep them warm in gravy ffs. Thought I’d let people know that Chartwells is not any better than last year sadly.
Hey Everyone,
I am starting the online concentration in paychology program with Laurentian this fall!
I just want to know everyones opinion on the program and delivery overall. Since I have heard so many negative things about the program from a few of my friends who have taken it.
Also, are the exams online? My coworker told me that her sister completed the online pysch program and that all her exams were mailed to her in person?

I know this subreddit is pretty dead, but anyways I’m starting a French science program at Laurentian in the fall and due to being French there’s only one time slot for each course option I can take. I have back to back classes on Thursdays in different buildings which are fairly close together but still. Is the ten minutes between classes gonna mean I’m always late to class?
Hey y’all, im in the process of choosing my electives and was wondering for those who are past they’re first year if there are any classes you guys really enjoyed/appreciated?
I have a couple I wrote down that seem interesting but some input before finalizing a decision would be nice.
I’m in BPHE health promotion aiming for med school afterwards if that’s any help
If there is still excess money in my student account balance(self services-financial information-student finance-account summary) after graduation, will I receive a full refund? If so, how do I apply for it? Is there a deadline or any requirements for the application?
Hi, considering laurentian for an upcoming year. Curious - does anyone feel skepticism of the financial security of the university given the recent financial hardships? Does anyone know any information regarding their recovery and plans to maintain financial stability.
Students currently enrolled (since bankruptcy) have you noticed any difference?
Does anyone know when we should hear about room placements and roommates?
I'm trying to plan my course schedule but it's pretty unintuitive
Anyone wanna help a brother out I'm struggling lmao I'd love a call with someone who knows what they're doing
Hi, I’m a new student for Fall 2024. I’ve been looking at the pictures online and the beds look like twin size and I need to buy sheets before I head up there. Can anyone confirm what size sheets I need to buy for my bed. I’ll be in UC.
Does anyone know if Laurentian offers any family history/genealogy courses? I'm really interested in family history, making family trees, etc. So I'm just looking to see if anything like that is offered at Laurentian.
