Has anyone who’s applied for Nursing Sept 2025 either sem 1 or sem 3 heard back yet?
Anyone here taken cell biology before remember what the lab exam was like? I tried really hard in the labs but only ever do mid on the reports and I am really worried about the exam because they gave like no direction.
my grade 12 math isn’t until next semester, will they still accept me in march or give me conditional acceptance? all my other marks are 90+ except for math as of right now lol
hi! i just got into dal a few days ago for next fall. i was wondering what the different residencies are like, are they known for different things? i’m planning on partying a lot and the social aspect is very important to me. thank you
I’ve been wondering how tough is it for ca students to get a coop intern here, it seems the situation and market is now worse off and idk how long the market downturn is going to last, but a few ppl around me have gotten full time job and intern, can anyone share your thoughts and experiences on this matter?
Hey y’all I’m a grade 11 student in Ontario and i was just wondering what average would i need to get into Dal because it’s the university i want to get into. I know it depends on the program but for a general arts program, if anyone who knows please let me know thank you!!

Im not a Dal student, but I’m young (dropped out to start a business) and sometimes work on campus. I’ve used the engineering building lobby and the library before, but I’m looking for other indoor spots to work during the winter. Any recommendations for quiet, accessible places on campus?
Just applied to dal law for next year. I was wondering when people from previous years have heard back or if anyone has heard back this year yet?
Is it easier to get into semester 1 or semester 3 nursing at dal?
Wondering if I should do a general BSc for first year and complete the required admission requirements for sem 3 (to apply with a hopefully high GPA) or apply directly for semester 1 (with a low high school average)?
Also if you got accepted into semester 3, what was your GPA and CASPer score?
I read that Novanet libraries stopped charging fines on regular items. Does anyone know if they wiped old fines? Do they still have people on file from 20 years ago?
I want to register for a community account, but I just want to be prepared for the embarrassment. And the $200.
Do university librarians ask about old accounts, or will they hook you up with a new one and quietly assume that you just share a name with the other delinquent?
How long did it take them to get back to you im so anxious lol
Student in sem 3 🙋🏻♀️. Doing a clinical in LTC and not enjoying it as I thought I would. I was wondering what kind of placements should I expect in semester 4?
I am from Alberta and have an average of around 80%, 89% in math 30-1, 86% in math 31, and I am currently doing the rest of the 5 required courses and it’s looking like mid 70s for social, English and chemistry. Is it really competitive? I really want to get the co op program with Lockheed Martin
I am in BCS and even though dal does not focus on cybersecurity alot, I am self learning it and I wanted to install Kali Linux on it. Anyone know how compatible is Linux with Dal since everything is usually for MacOs or Windows for example Lockdown Browsers
I am looking to get some student volunteers to work with me doing some strength and exercise based programming. I work with 2 groups of seniors, one group on Tower Road and the other is by Mic Mac Mall. I did send emails to the department heads asking them to pass this along, but like most things Dal it’s been crickets in terms of a response. If interested drop me a note and we can talk.
Okay so - long story short, I got approved for Jan 2025, but my dumbass did not notice that on the month that I applied, the gov immigration office updated the uni change policy for international students: I need to reapply for a study permit. Okay sure, I can stay another semester in PEI and just vibe with that. However, I already paid my 2500 CAD deposit. My first reply was “hey you can do a deferral”, but first of all, I’d spend a semester just doing nothing (because I cannot do any other studies in that period apparently), and second of all, I can’t stay 150+ days without doing anything as per the law (also I can’t work because my study permit allows me to work while I study).
Here’s my second screwup: I made a typo on my September application. I put my gpa scale as 4.0 instead of 4.3, so my GPA shows up as 4.05/4.0 instead of 4.05/4.3. Genuinely terrified they might reject me based on that, so I sent an email apologizing. But do you guys think that with the deposit I made, I could somehow use that amount to do a deposit payment for my September intake without the deferral issue? I swear my brain is going to explode.
Oh, and if I study on January without the study permit change, I can get deported from Canada.
Sorry about my anxiety ridden post but I was hoping if yall could give me a hand. Would a typo nuke my changes of getting in? Would my admission deposit be transferred? If they ask me to pay again, but tell me that my deposit is kept in my student acc and it would go towards my tuition it would also be a good ending. THIS close to crying I swear I just want to study at Dal I am desperate on my knees and dead 😭😭😭
the long story was not short I lied. I’m sorry though, I’m genuinely scared about this because I just really want this specific uni and I will fight god to get in
UPDATE 1: Dal got back to me. My typo will not affect my application. Yay!
I wanna kms its just so fuckin hard to balance studies with work. I might fail in 2 subjects even after locking in. I did all i could but now it feels like my life is falling apart in front of my eyes and I can't do shit to reverse the damage that it has already done.
Hi... I made this account a couple minutes ago because i swear im actually so done for.
I'm averaging a B+ in every class (i've been a B+/A student my whole life so dont shit on me... im trying) and i am so burnt out i'm barely even trying on upcoming assignments, but i seriously need a good GPA, I'm at a 3.3 right now (YIKES)
what im asking is; if i give up and submit the most dog essays... will i be i fucked? OR should i just suck it up and grind out my best possible work these next two weeks?
(im in my 3rd yr if it helps)

For like the past week iv been feelin real down and fatigued, i literally couldn’t get anything done then i randomly find out that my fatigue could be caused by CO2 build up in my dorm. I spend a majority of my time in my dorm so I thought it kinda made sense, so i opened my window for the like the first time in a month and i feel so energized. What the sigma i should’ve listened to my mom when she said i should get fresh air 💀
I'm currently in grade 12, in BC (near Victoria). I'm planning on studying English. Halifax seems like a beautiful city and I'm wondering what it's like. I'm wondering A) What student life and social events are like (especially for queer students!) and B) If the humanities program at Dal is good (compared to, say, UVic)
Halifax seems like a beautiful city and I'm strongly considering going to Dal. I'm wondering if anyone else has made this west coast-east coast move and can tell me how the cities are similar/ different. The main con I see to going there is not being able to see my family/friends very often.
I'm considering Dalhousie for my masters of architecture but I'm having a hard time figuring out what they forces on. Such as I'm at Carleton for my undergrad and Carleton is all about design and theory but they also have focues on heritage/sustainability/urbanism/materials/soical.
I also wanted to know. I read that school starts in May. If I apply January 2025 will I be starting May 2025 or May 2026.
Thanks a bunch!
Y’all gonna have to carry on without me, its joever
I need a projector for just one night. Where would be the best place to borrow one on campus?
Just curious, in general how early do you start studying for an exam? Like a week, two weeks? I know studying is different for everyone but just curious!
Having a super big argument with my girlfriend (things got dangerously heated). Need to know if big justice is actually related to cousin angelo or if they are just good friends.
