Looking for a potential bus/train buddy
So I received a parking ticket today even though I have proof that I paid. It didn’t seem like the ticket officer cared and told me to discuss it with parking services. Issue here is that I already received two other tickets I didn’t pay cause they aren’t actually enforced by the city. What should I do?
seriously. fucking hell.
I love that Carleton is already trying to convince everyone that things are "normal" in their statement. Like, no, conciliation isn't a normal part of bargaining. It's when bargaining breaks down and the union is preparing to walk off the job. I think we all remember what happened the last time bargaining with professors was going in this direction.

I am a Kurd and I haven’t meet anyone here, just wondering if there are any at Carleton
Or it would be, if it weren't so offensive.
You're showing us just how amazing the caf can be, but for the majority of the time it just isn't. Disingenuous to the visitors, too.
Hey yall, this is probably a long shot but I have a midterm for CIVE4202 on Monday and my textbook hasn’t come in yet (completely my fault I ordered it late) anyone who took the course previously and still has their text book willing to lend me theirs? I can get it from you tmr and then return it right after the midterm (feb3rd) and I promise I won’t damage it!!! (I’ll buy you lunch as a thank you or coffee/breaky wtv max. $20 lol I’m not stacked like that)
Hey guys I found a very nice crocheted head cover in the elevators of the nicol building like a week ago lmk if that was any of u guys it seems like someone put a lot of effort into it so just trying to give it back to the rightful owner
Carleton u students might have also been affected. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your human rights office, and other resources who can assist you.
Edit: There is a former Ottawa U students who is harassing and abusing many black girls students (some non-black girls might also have had experiences with him). Just last week he targeted douzens of black girls and sent out follow request to many of my friends out of nowhere. He has a past of abusing his ex as you’ll see in the comments on my r/geegees post. He is very active on dating app, so there’s a good chance some of you might have matched w him before. Anyone going on a date w him soon. Don’t. I posted his face and another convo w a friend giving more details.
Sorry for all the initial confusion. I’m still working on trying to add these pictures in the top caption.
Got a parking ticket for parking at Brewers park today then coming to campus. Was not parked for more than 2 hours, they gave me the ticket 5 minutes after I parked. Any way to appeal?
In tunnels, people riding carts. Or do they get in trouble?
I live in Leeds and enjoy watching the parking lot chaos when there’s heavy snowfall. Every time, without fail, there are entire ROWS of cars boxed in / sandwiched between other cars. All because people forget that cars actually need space in front or behind them to get out!
While I may find it entertaining, for the sake of your driving colleagues please learn how to park when it snows. Use some common sense. Don’t box in other cars. I feel bad for the people who will have to wait for hours now to be freed from the idiocy of others.
Does anyone have any notes for the course they’d be willing to share with me? I commute between Carleton and UOttawa for this class so even tho I do have notes I’m missing some for the first 15-30min of class because I’m usually trying to get there 😭 I just wanna make sure I have everything I need because test 1 is coming up
Carleton's former President (two presidents ago) left Carleton in the Summer of 2023. And yet... he still got paid a full salary in 2023 despite leaving half way through the year and then raked in nearly another $400k despite not working here a single day! For context, his 2024 salary could have paid for 43 courses to be taught by Contract Instructors that year, but instead went to line the pockets of this rich chump. Carleton has a money problem because the senior admin that run this place are fools that like to line each others' pockets. Don't let them tell you otherwise! The sunshine list don't lie!
hello! due to a course scheduling snafu i'm looking at taking a bunch of "filler" courses until i can compete my fourth-year placement for my program. i've been interested in medicine as a career for a while, but didn't take the SBI4U credit in high school due to a number of personal reasons.
does anyone have any experiences or knowledge of whether or not the high school requirement can be waived in certain circumstances or if there's a "bridging" type course available? i'm a third-year, currently and have been self-studying for a while.
What do you guys think about the candidates for the president position?
Got my academic assessment back and it says that I have to withdraw from my major for two terms. I am currently staying in residence and it’s not really feasible for me to go back home, are they going to kick me out of my residence? If so, how long do I have to find a solution?
So I just got the most terrifying email of my life, basically just saying “your academic continuation evaluation is available” and so after a quick 5 min panic break of thinking “am I kicked out??” I check Carleton central and it just says “no assessment”
And it has a link to what that means, and from what I gather I’m not kicked out. But I’m not really sure what this means at all. It also says it won’t have any effect on my upcoming registration.
Now I’m not the best student (failed a few courses first year, left for a year and came back and failed 1/4, long personal story). Normally I’d kinda swallow my pride and call to get some answers but I’m assuming whoever I should reach out to isn’t on the clock currently. But my mind can’t stop racing as to what this means.
Has anyone else gotten this before? Any advice as to what this means or what I should do? This is kind of a wake up call so I’ll have to be wayy more diligent about my education either way.
Thanks in advance
I tried to charge my laptop using both stations in the library (main floor and 5th) and it didn’t work. Someone else told me it hasn’t worked for them either for some time. Are there any on campus that do?
Anyone have the discord link for this class?
Quite often I find myself having to use the elevator in NN and it always seems like half the school does too. Everyone crowds the entrance, not letting anyone out. Sometimes it stops at 2nd floor for no particularly good reason, and some ignoramus looks at a packed elevator with a CLOSING DOOR and thinks "don't mind if I do!" making a bad situation worse. Sometimes this happens multiple times in what should be a quick trip. It is not a bus! Unlike OC Transpo, the next trip doesn't get cancelled. It'll be back. Wait like half a minute for the love of fuck.
Please for the love of gawd do not douse yourself in perfume before coming to a very crowded three hour lecture. It is so selfish and now my learning is directly effected because I have to choose whether glto be nauseous and struggling to concentrate or losing all the information from this lecture. Smell neutral please and thank you.
Hey everyone. I'm making a quick post here just to gauge interest in receiving tutoring in electrical engineering (all engineering disciplines first year). I graduated last year with a good GPA and I struggled finding tutors because the program content is quite niche. So for anyone interested in receiving tutor lessons feel free to reach out.
I am doing this to help out fellow engineering students because I know how tough it can be and I also was a PASS facilitator for ELEC2607 so I know how to give good tutor sessions. I can help with any first year course and the core second year courses (ELEC2507, ELEC2607, 2501, etc).
Title.
Back when I was in school at Sprott. I never took advantage of the career counseling available for students at the student services office. But I'm at the point now after graduating where I could use a bit of advice. I live close to the school and was wondering from someone more knowledgeable about the subject if Sprott still offers these services to alumni of the school, or if they're only for enrolled students? Thanks.
I am worried that my average might not be high enough to get into the MSW after im finished the BSW. I already have a crim degree and I feel like the more classes i do, there is a risk of my GPA going down.
My current GPA is 8.9 at uottawa which is = to an A.
Saw 2 campus security cars blocking the main (bookstore) entrance to uc with caution tape on doors, anyone know whats going on?
