Hi there everyone, I am a grade 12 student planning on applying to Carleton University. I want to apply to Aerospace Engineering. My average is an 82%. Do I have a chance?
I'm in my second year now, and I hate my student ID picture. It's also quite a bit different from how I normally look and I've had a few experiences of people not believing it was actually me. Would I be able to possibly change it, or am I stuck with it for another few years?
Anyone who has taken the class or is in the class have a copy of the proposal guide😭 This prof doesn’t post anything
Applying for computer science but I'm not sure what to pick as my major interest. "Computer science" is one of them? what does that even mean? Can I change the subject later if I find out I picked wrong?
SEEKING PARTICIPANTS FOR CYBERCRIME RESEARCH
We are seeking research participants from Carleton University for a study regarding the impact of cybercrime experiences on psychological well-being. Cybercrime refers to any type of crime that occurs online or through the use of a computer, such as fraud, hacking, or harassment. We are seeking participants to complete an online survey (approximately 25 minutes). Questions will collect demographic information, details relating to your cybercrime experience, and information related to psychological well-being. This survey is completely anonymous and voluntary.
Your participation would be deeply appreciated and will contribute to a deeper understanding of the thoughts and experiences of Canadians who have encountered cybercrime.
Participant Requirements: Must be 18+, currently living in Canada, and have experienced any form of cybercrime.
To learn more about this study or to participate, please visit the following website: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XDRVMDG
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact cala.annala@my.viu.ca.
Hi there, I'm looking for feedback from current students. My American kid is interested in studying the Great Books in college. We are aware of the cap on international student entries.
Looks like the Humanities Program is strong on paper, how is it day-to-day? Also, is there any indication liberal arts are at risk given Carleton's financial challenges?
Thanks so much!
A lot of presentations? A lot of people in classes?
It has nothing to do with my students or the course instructor. It is one of the easiest and least stressful jobs I’ve ever had so it’s not because of the workload. I just hate it. I don’t know if it’s because I’m the sole TA for the course so I am somewhat isolated. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way.
Edit: hate might be too strong of a word
I'm an American high school student in 12th grade. With how my school is set up in block schedule my Pre-calculus class won't start until January and won't finish until may. I have no doubt that I will pass the class but will it affect my application with it being a prerequisite? Should I not spend the 100$ fee because of this?
Thanks!
For those who have applied to the MSW program at Carleton- Do you have to complete all parts of the application before you pay and submit (upload all documents, transcripts, etc.)? I'm a little bit confused if I can enter some parts of the application now and add other things later. If anyone knows the answer to this, I would be grateful! TIA
I’m a fourth year Biology student and want to TA. A course for the winter term. Does anyone know how to go about applying?
What books do Architecture students need when going into the Sustainability/Conservation stream? Would love to get a head start on my studies

Hello, currently im in St. John's, NL. I have no knowledge about the university. I am planning to do the MBA at CU. Is it worth it? Do you have any suggestions ? How is the university in general ?
I'm a physics student finishing up a prerequisite course (SCH4U), which I should be done by late January. Once I'm done, I'll be able to apply. Does anyone know if civil engineering usually fills up fast/will i be put at a disadvantage if apply at that time?
also what is the minimum CGPA to be considered for civil?
Hey everyone!
I’m interested in starting a Comedy Club here at Carleton. If you’re into stand-up or just love a good laugh, let’s bring together some like-minded folks to create a space where we can share jokes, practice routines, and maybe even organize some shows.
We could host events, open mics, or just meet to workshop ideas and joke around. Whether you're a seasoned comedian or just curious, everyone would be welcome.
If you’re interested or have any ideas, drop a comment or send me a message.
The prof is Christopher McGrath
Anyone else taking this course, or have taken it, and absolutely love it? The content is interesting and simple to understand. The tests and quizzes are reasonable and not too tough. Prof. Runtz is hilarious.
If you're ever looking for a good first year elective I wholeheartedly advocate for BIOL1902!!!
Does know when the staircase leading from Tory (tunnel F side) to tunnel G(tunnel going to southam) is actually gonna open again? Said it was closed for construction until August 30....
Is this some business student project? I saw them yesterday and today.

Remember there being some sort of club back then, does it still exist? Can’t find it on discord if it does exist.
Hey guys, so im a junior in uni, 24, and i've been thinking about this lately and it's kind of eating me up whether if it's weird or not. I started uni during the pandemic and I feel like it stunted my growth as I was always online and stuck in my room like a teen. Never felt like I matured.
I have a couple first year courses this year as electives, and I managed to click with a few students in class, make new friends, and it's honestly really cool learning about their culture and having a diverse friend group. I only have one 2nd year course. So i'm surrounded by this age group constantly.
It's just they are 18-19. I don't want to be labelled as a weirdo or whatever. Now studying with them is normal and fun, but getting asked to hangout I'd like to but yk it's kinda making me second-guess myself.
It's not that I don't have friends who are older, it's just when they (specifically) ask to hang in campus or at the mall, I'd love to, but my brain is kind of second-guessing.
I feel like if I had the uni life at 20-24 I'd be in a different position than what I am now. I'd just like to get your opinions on it.
Campus security cars everywhere and police cars in the P7 parking lot. What is going on???
This class is already hard to begin with due to the density of the material, but the prof goes and makes it harder in bullshit ways like putting a 90+ question midterm exam on Brightspace with no return function and no way to see the whole exam (thereby limiting accessibility by making it online AND by preventing time management strategies), having the labs cover material that was barely or not at all covered in class, and so on.
I like challenging classes, and I like, you know, actually *learning* something, but I swear to god this class is so poorly planned out in its assessments it actively incentivizes you to use ChatGPT instead of learning fair and square because you're not given enough to actually succeed in it. And I'm not even saying this as someone who is fresh out of high-school, either--no, I already have a bachelor's degree from another university and of my half decade in post-secondary education I have never come across a class that is outright *unfair*. And I'm a strong student normally, if you would believe it! Like, holy shit, I'm the kind of person who would accept failing -- and HAS accepted failing -- if the assessments are fair and I'm the one who fucked up.
This isn't fair. This is is infuriating. Who can I speak to?
If anyone sees it please contact him!
I'm in my first semester this year and I have a question about the QuickEats store on the first floor of UC. Is there some way to pay for what you take on the hey chef app, or is the store camera monitored so you can just grab something and walk out and your payment method will be charged automatically?
Does anyone know if there are any spots where I can park that aren’t on the campus? I don’t have a permit but I’ve having trouble with the buses so if there’s a place within a certain radius of the campus where I might be able to park my car without paying anything, I’d love to know, thanks 🙏
