Hey everyone, I’m currently in grade 11 and I’m interested in applying to the school of business. I’ve heard that uni is generally way harder than high school and that it’s super difficult which is making me nervous. To anyone in any faculty, what’s first year really like? What’s it like after? Any studying habits or tips/tricks that I should be aware of?

I’ve been struggling with myself real bad lately and I can’t tell if its the seasonal blues, but it has just been extremely detrimental. I figured if I wanted something to happen I should utilize the resources that my tuition pays for. How does the process work? (I already understand booking, but rather how do these appointments usually go?) Also, I’ve never had a screening or assessment done before, so I’m a bit anxious. In addition, do we also have to pay anything upfront? Are they helpful? Anything will help, so thanks.

Who do I speak to about appealing a grade. Unfortunately I need to retake practicum and I’m totally okay with that as I know where I need improvement. However, when my prof notified me about this she attached a PDF with her reasoning titled “F Grade Rationale”. I do not think that is fair as I’m sitting at a B in the course. So to completely fail me when I still need to submit 2 more assignments doesn’t make any sense and also feels like an abuse of power. Does anyone know what to do about this? Or who I can talk to? Again I’m fine with retaking the course but I don’t think it’s fair to completely fail me. TIA <3

Long story short, I had a group assignment and today I just got my marks back. Didn’t get a good grade. Upon reading the feedback, I just found out two of my group members copied answers with eachother, and the other 2 didn’t even hand in their part of the assignment (all of this is without my knowledge).

For context as to how I could have missed this, the parts that were copied/not handed in were individual parts of the assignment that we had to do ourselves, but the prof would still mark us on based on our answers. This is so surprising because on the day we were supposed to hand everything in, i asked if everyone had done their part and they all said yes. I even looked at one of theirs, which i’m guessing is one of the ones that was copied/pasted.

I’ve sent an email to the prof explaining the situation. This prof has had a ‘vendetta’ against our group throughout the semester, she’s made numerous amounts of passive aggressive comments, and has marked us lower for the same work as other groups (i’ve confirmed with the other groups). So i’m not entirely confident she’ll actually do anything.

I’ve gone from an A to a C- because of this, it’s likely i’ll end this class with a C+ or a B- at the very most. although this class isn’t that important compared to my others, I’d rather maintain a better grade so my GPA doesn’t fall that badly.

Is there a way to explain this situation to a higher up? What options do I have?

my prof put the page we are supposed to cite on d2l but looking at the library for the text could only find it as a book and it had its citation can i use that?

I have a test coming up that will be using Respondus lockdown browser to access the webcam and microphone which I am fine with because I have studied and I am comfortable with the material. My question is if I plug my headphones into my laptop will the professor or lockdown be able to know this.

I'm a bit confused how a.i works, i dont use it for assignments because i get scared easily. But lets say i throw a multiple choice question (open book) into a.i, is that like?? Not allowed? Sorry if that sounds stupid. I dont understand how a.i works and when we're allowed to use it (one of my classes allows a.i, i dont know the policy for this class though)

I'm a first year Bio student, and I've noticed this semester I'm really struggling to get the hang of labs. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to be better or be more organized?

I have a really hard time with understanding & remembering what I need to do beforehand (even after I've read the lab ahead of time and done pre-lab work), and I can't seem to remember many details afterward to apply that learning in subsequent labs or tests. I think part of it is ADHD and I just have poor working memory, but I would love some tips on how to address that if you have any!

Also drop your lab notebook suggestions if there are any that come sort of pre-organized in any way lol.

Hi, I am currently a year 2 nursing student, and I am thinking to take a gap year after this year since I want to take a rest and try out other things before deciding if I should continue nursing or not... Things are getting a bit off now, even my clinical instructor is telling me to reconsider if I really want to be in nursing, and I'm only in my first clinical semester, I can't imagine going into next semester and having 2 clinicals every week... Does anyone know if I can take a gap year after this fall semester? If not, I'll just take it after the winter one... I am a recent graduate with a BBA in finance and supply chain. A little more about me, I worked 3 internships for CNRL during my time at MRU, unfortunately, I never got a return offer from them and have been struggling to find an industry job. Since my last internship ended in August 2023, I have not been working as I was focused on studying for my level 1 CFA which I wrote this August and past!!! since then I have also just been looking for any type of minimum wage in the meantime. Well, I finally was able to get a job at Subway as a sandwich maker...I know I know.. not where I want to be in life but that's reality.

My parents suggested that I update my Linkedin and update my job history/make a post about my new job. They said I might be surprised by contacts who might reach out about industry jobs once they see I'm working at Subway. But ngl I'm embarrassed af to post that. idk even know what I would write, ChatGPT spat out something like
