My first foray into the long range world! B14 HMR in .308 topped with Vortex Diamondback I got for free.
All in all I’m really happy, especially since the full setup cost me around $1200
Just looked at Proof’s website and the steel prefits are now $749. I could swear they used to be $649. Any know if this is just temporary price gauging so they can claim it’s a huge sale later this month, or is this a permanent hike? The barrels are nice and all, but doesn’t this just make a custom fit by a gunsmith more attractive, which opens up the competition to basically all other barrel blank manufacturers? Curious what the rationale is, and frustrated after having one on my buy list for a couple months now…
Almost done. I got this pelican case 1770 for $200 today. First thing i did was painted it to march the rifle.😁
Hey all,
Looking to move to a custom action (my first one) from a factory R700 action Remage setup. I am comparing the Solus Obsidian and Defiance Machine Classic in .478 SA. The Defiance should be around $200 more (have an Aero coupon code). What are the opinions on these from folks that have experience of them?
Thanks in advance
Do the crossbolts need to be rotationally matching? If that makes sense? As you can see, I accidentally stripped the left bolt flathead a little bit with my wheeler torque wrench with a bit that was a little too small. My wheeler wrench only goes up to 65 pounds- the mount torque specs are 100inch lbs on the crossbolts. I ended up using a socket set to hand tighten it a little more, right after the wheeler wrench
Does this look okay?
So I ordered a set of Vortex 34mm medium height rings for Venom 3-15x44.
They were the standard ones, not the Precision ones made by seekins.
I was watching some YouTube videos and came across a review from C_Does about these rings from DiscoveryOpt that are made of 7075 aluminum, are hand lapped and serialized. Sounds too good to be true for the price. Anyone tried them?
Go figure the one stage I decided to ask for a video after spotting the entire squad I forgot where the targets were and then almost went out of sequence lol. The first time I ever shot over 100 yards was about three weeks ago. Had a blast today And definitely plan to keep coming out more.
As the title states, I'm stuck between these two. I'm looking for opinions on whether the accuracy increase of the Razor is worth the money. The Viper is +/- a yard at 100 while the Razor is +/- half yard. At distance, viper is +/- 2 and Razor is +/- one yard.
Distance rating isn't a concern between the two as the reviews consistently have them both performing plenty well there. Anything else I'm missing? I'm not interested in any other brands due to Vortex warranty.
Hi all, looking to get a KRG Whiskey 3 for my tikka 6.5cm.
Anyone know if they’re going to have a sale this month?
Thanks
Shoutout to AAOptics, was lucky enough to snag a razor g3 mrad from the restock notification earlier this week, can't wait to get it mounted. Besides the vortex rings and seekins one piece, what other mounts have a diving board built in or as an option?
First time for her at the 1000yrd line, and she hit her first time.

Hello All
I have a rifle that I have installed in to a chassis. I am pretty short and the issue I have is I cannot move the scope back far enough to get the correct eye relief. I have the rear scope ring all the way back.
I crane my neck forward, it’s affecting my NPA and hence my accuracy.
I have seen cantilevered scope mounts, but can they be used in either direction?
Just looking for some insider info to best prepare myself. I'm doing the one in January so I've got 2 months to get some reps in and find tune my packing list
Wanted to get peoples thoughts on the Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x50 FFP APRS3. For my CZ457. Found on Euro Optic for a good price so I wanted to get a round of opinions or other comparable suggestions.
Budget - looking to keep it around $600. Hard stop at $700. Found the above scope of Euro Optic for about $400.
Plans - punch paper and steel. Might try a base class NRL22 shoot.
Distance - The longest range I can find in my vicinity is 450 yards. Mostly shooting between 100-200yards.
Experience - not a ton but as I get older I find shooting my bolt gun more enjoyable so want to shoot more as a hobby.

I'm about 15 mins into the first episode where the guy is setting up for an assassination. Sure, he assembles his rifle that was disguised as a brief case which a little gimmicky.
However, when he sets up he sets up a wind flower to read wind, roughly bore sights his barrel and takes a shot at a building to check his zero. It hits right and we then see him dial his windage and take a confirmation shot to confirm his zero before carrying out the assassination.
The lack of recoil is a little unrealistic being what looks like a 300PRC but the rifle does have an F Class looking bipod on it. But it's still better than the ridiculous body jump recoil in American Sniper.
Anyway, I appreciate this type of realism in movies/TV and I thought this scene was particularly well done.
Anyway, does anyone else have sense from movies where they've noticed a decent degree of realism? If so, please share the.
Is this rust on the extractor ? And should I warranty it ? It’s a 308 and was bought only last year and kept in a humidity controlled safe
Hey guys. Can anyone in Canada give me a concrete answer about if i can legally get a Stock shipped from Pure Precision(USA) to my home address in Canada? Google seems to look like its a grey area or a no. Just rather not get dinged at customs or pay some ridiculous cross border fees during shipping. Thanks
I listened to the advice I received and pulled the trigger on this Vortex Venom 3-15x44 FFP EBR-7C MRAD for my Ruger 10/22.
FFP, MIL, exposed turrets, zero stop were the drivers of this decision. Scopelist sent an email offering them at $350 with free shipping.
I saw mixed opinions on the Vortex rings. What medium height rings do you guys recommend?
So for whatever reason the “Kick-eez” pads on my Manners TCS keep splitting and crumbling apart towards the bottom.
Granted I don’t baby my rifles but this is the first recoil pad I had this happen on not once but twice now in about as many months.
I contacted Manners and they sent me a couple replacement pads for free, so no shade on them at all but mostly curious if other folks are having issues with these as well?
I’m thinking about cutting some more resilient rubber to shape and just gluing that on.
Anyone have any experience with this ammo? The max range is have access to is about 700 yards, but I can't find ANY info on this specific ammo
