There most recent social post includes all the album covers and a back to back shows.
I got one from a friend back in the day, I remember it being red, and I’m pretty sure it had the songs Paramedic from These Green Eyes, and The Brightest Green from Anarbor, maybe I’m not crying, You’re not crying, Are You? From Dear and the Headlights. I tried checking my account history on iTunes but it’s not showing up in my purchase history, I think due to it being a free download. Can anyone help me find this track list? Is there another way to try and find it?
Hey all! I love bands like State Champs and People R Ugly. I also love me some John Harvie. I grew up with Simple Plan, Yellowcard, and Boys Like Girls and I find it challenging to find that type of pop punk that doesn’t over use sad songs and/or screaming.
I’ve seen most of the artists listed above, but I want to go to more concerts and listen to new music close to those musicians. Any suggestions?
Don’t know much about them but sounds Interesting. Anyone have song recommendation or is going to show? (or any dates from tour in general)
20 years ago today, my friends and I went to Atlanta for our senior trip to catch the Blink 182, Taking Back Sunday, and Cypress Hill tour. Motion City was on a side stage at the entrance to the amphitheater.
What an incredible show.
Hey everyone. Fairly new to Reddit but my name is Brandon Lewis and I run Punkerton Records. We’re an indie punk rock and folk label from Columbus, Ohio. I wanted to share a video from one of our artists Middle-Out from their latest single “Silhouette” because it has off brand Muppets! And their new album drops 5/21. (Vinyl is already shipping) Hope you like it.
Prove me wrong
Years ago a band put out a flag that was black and white, had a vinyl player on it with a black cat on it. Band name written pretty big on it i think... I have this image of it in my head and i cannot for the life of me find any trace of it on the internet. I have a feeling someone in here might be able to help me think of who it could have been.
My wife and I have been playing all the stuff we like since she was pregnant, and now that our daughter is 10months she’s starting to dance and show preference. She LOVES pop punk and it’s the cutest thing in the world. She shakes her head violently to the wonder years, she puts her hands up and bounces to tigers jaw and she head wiggles to oso oso. I just bought her a Tigers Jaw shirt (shoutout to them for having baby merch) and it just makes me so happy thinking back to my dad introducing me to the genre when I was a kid .
Any other parents getting their kids hooked on pop punk?
Available midnight, your local time! 🕕
Shameless Self Promotion (not sure how to tag this as that). Changed the band name from Bombs Go Bang! to avoid anyone thinking there was a political message and released this track in stores in March (with a new track being released this weekend).
You guys are my target audience (I created the band because I love 00’s poppunk and Alt-Rock music), so I’m really keen to hear what you all think, whether this fits in the genre for you etc.
Re feedback, I am also aware that the vocals aren’t mixed in the best way and that it drowns out the guitars and drums in the chorus. I have updated the mix, so that should hopefully change on Spotify soon (I’m guessing a month or so).
digging the new early november stuff!
I’ll start off by saying this was actually impossible. Normally instead of shuffling my liked songs I just play this playlist. I consider some of the songs near the bottom of this playlist to be some of my favorites to listen to, but I suppose that is the consequence of a band whose music sounds so similar to itself. I see this as a blessing because the repetition does not bother me.
Critique this as you may, this is just my opinion. It is obviously imperfect because it is so difficult to weigh different aspects of different songs that I enjoy. Let me know what you think!
I'm a drummer in a band that isn't pop punk, but I decided bitch and moan here because I fit into this scene, not whatever jazz funk stuff of the band I'm in.
We have a frontman who is probably one of the 2 most self-centered, least considerate people I have ever met in my life. The band started with just him and I back when we were cool. This dude started buying thousands of dollars of gear to "make us sound better" (pro tip: we suck ass and need to practice more, idiot), fucked around with my drum kit until I flipped out on him one day and he stopped, and added a band member that used to be one of his buddies from years ago. I found out by walking into practice one day and him going "I'm gonna tell you this, I talked to that guy and added him in the band". The dude is cool and shit but he lives in another fuckin time zone and that makes things pretty hard to work around sometimes.
This dude has also gotten involved in my personal life and caused me pretty irreversible trouble, which I lost a literal majority of my friends over because he has to get involved in the middle of everything.
Well we get a text today telling us that he added another dude (a guitarist) and is just gonna start him off with some YouTube stuff. Not a fucking question, not looking for opinions, just a heads up. I told him I didn't like the idea but was down to try, and he sent back a big long ass text about how he hasn't led me wrong before.
I actually have been wanting to add a guitarist for a while. I would be pretty excited about it. But the fact that he didn't even throw out a "hey, want to try this dude?" text really pisses me off.
I keep wanting to quit but at this point being in a band that fits around my schedule is worth the price of the bullshit. Ive also learned how to become pretty detached and just come in to play music and cut my teeth so I have some experience for whatever band I actually end up in and give a fuck about. He is also constantly bitching at me because I want to enjoy playing music and he wants to grind out hundreds of hours perfecting the songs he writes (the dude doesn't know what a chord progression is. Again, we suck, and that's okay. But at least I'm not bullshitting.)
If you have a similar story, I'd love to hear it. I'm feeling pretty stuck right now, because if I quit the band I'll probably lapse in skill before finding another one, so Im just kind of riding this wave out.
What was the last thing the drummer said before getting kicked out of the band? "Hey guys, I have an idea".
I've just been on a kick(flip) lately for this style. Most recommendations I find are for 20+ year old bands. I want fresh blood. Pls help
(We live for this) is my favorite song on this album.
Why did this band drop one awesome album and disappear? It sounds like it could have came out in the last few years
Hi everyone,
My band released our first single late last year, heavily influenced by pop/psychedelic/post punk bands: https://open.spotify.com/track/4utaLLTJ6iDZccgcRxBNy3?si=d246c953a7fb42f1
All three of us are of south asian heritage, and we've been wanting to find some south asian punk bands to listen to. Does anyone have any recommendations for similar sounding south asian punk bands? Cheers!

Underrated band I discovered cause the singer joined in zebrahead a few years back
So I’m discussing about the revival of pop punk and emo. The other person is saying if it wasn’t for 21 pilots a lot of people wouldn’t have been listening to the 2010s revival of pop punk and emo.
I disagree with that. I think that undermines bands like neck deep and modern baseball who was in the forefront of the revivals for these genres.
They said that 21 pilots being steady in the top 40 starting in 2015 is the reason why so many people started to listen to those bands. That so many alt fans are here because of top.
Then they went on to say that these revivals wouldn’t have been “mainstream” if it wasn’t for top introducing alt to the mainstream.
What are some pop punk bands that are mid? Bands that you find neither terrible nor extraordinary: riffs are stock, lyrics are generic, drums are straight-forward, bass is the same notes as the rhythm guitar, any reason that you feel the bands’ music should just have been put into the public domain the second it was released?
No complaining about other people’s opinions allowed.
For me: Jawbreaker, Fenix TX and Spanish Love Songs are mid. Who are you underwhelmed by?
