r/Yellowcard is a subreddit devoted to the musical genius behind the Florida-originated band, Yellowcard. Yellowcard is a pop-punk band that resides in Los Angeles and has gained several million fans worldwide.
Yellowcard was an American pop-punk band from Jacksonville, Florida. Their music featured prominent use of a violin, which distinguished them from their peers in the genre. The band formed in 1997 and experienced many lineup changes between their formation and eventual breakup in 2017.
Most recently the band consisted of Ryan Key (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Sean Mackin (violin, backing vocals), Ryan Mendez (lead guitar), and Josh Portman (bass). Popular singles of the group include “Only One”, “Lights and Sounds”, and, perhaps their best-known track, “Ocean Avenue”, which received multi-platinum certification on June 28, 2013.
The band released ten studio albums, three EPs, and acoustic versions of two of their studio albums. Their final record, titled simply “Yellowcard”, was released on September 30, 2016. On June 25, 2016, they announced on their website that they would be breaking up after one final world tour.
Yellowcard played their final show to a sold-out crowd on March 25, 2017 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California, closing out the set with “Ocean Avenue”.

God do I love these 2 albums. I've heard "One For the Kids" and "Ocean Avenue" and have been meaning to check out the rest of their discography.
But ive seen the first 2 albums get a bad rep. I know they are different but it seems there's no love at all for them.
"WWS" is my favourite album of all time and I just don't understand why no-one seems to like these albums.
Both great hardcore/skate punk albums and deffo would recommend if you are into that stuff (like me)
So good 👍😊💯
Fans of Yellowcard should enjoy it. 28 minute video, no ads, just for fun!
I'm going through a painful sudden end of a friendship, and I KNOW Yellowcard has quite a few songs on the subject but can't recall them all. Would love any help! Can be breakup songs that also apply platonically.
So far I've remembered: Five Becomes Four, Rivertown Blues, Ocean Avenue, Leave a Light On.
Any more come to mind? (Thank you!)
Edit: Oh my gosh, so many of my favorites that I couldn't even think of because I've been so upset. Thank you!! In addition to all the ones mentioned so far (and yes, non-YC/YC-adjacent has also been great bc y'all have amazing taste) I've been repeating to myself from A Place We Set Afire: "Try to breathe the air that's here and now / Try to find some peace in falling out."
5 minute video. No ads. Just for fun!
I hope they are planning to extend this tour to Austria, Czechia, Slowakia or Hungary 🤞
Hello fellow Yellowcard lovers! I’m working on a personal project and have a kind of weird question: What names are mentioned in Yellowcard songs?
My list so far: Bobbie Pete Holly Jimmy
TIA!
So hyped for this 🥳
Did anyone happen to save the "Better Days" studio version clip from YC's Instagram story a few days ago or know if they posted it anywhere else? I've only just found out I missed it and am really hoping to hear it. I've been waiting for it to come out since they played it in Glasgow two months ago.
I don't know if this video has been posted already, sorry if it is.
I feel like I can faintly remember that Ryan Key was on MTV's Made once? Maybe another MTV show (Cribs maybe?) but I swear it was Made. Does anyone have any info on this, or even better, a (link to) a video? Thanks!!
Date Line (I am gone) is probably my favorite song of the record and it’s crazy to think they never played it live.
Found this at my parent’s house. I believe Ryan, Sean, Ben and LP signed it at the galaxy club (rip) in Dallas at a show in 2002, then I got Alex to sign it at warped tour either that summer or the following summer.
For me it's... Best Opener: Convocation Best Closer: Fields & Fences
What are everyone’s thoughts on the album?? Me personally it’s the only album of theirs that I can not listen to. Something about Ryan’s voice drives me nuts, it’s like he’s singing too nasally. I remember when it first came out I tried listening to it and feeling like that back then. I ask this because I’ve been going back listening to all of their stuff and this is the only one that I just can’t with. And I love the ocean avenue, but this acoustic version is just a no for me
Just an FYI. Tune into Thursday Night Football tomorrow if you want to catch Ryan shredding to the anthem on national television.
Includes chapter Select with the CORRECT track order.
Enjoy :)

Have a spare ticket for the gig tonight if anyone is interested, 30e
I’m familiar with their singles but a friend of mine has persuaded me to dive further into Yellowcard’s discography. I freaking LOVE the violin and was wondering if you folks have suggestions for their songs that are heavy on the violin! Please let me know which ones to check out!
Per the official venue website: https://www.bataclan.fr/en/event/yellowcard_2024-11-22_en
This was during Only One
Brilliant show, even got to hear some new music the band teased will be dropping next year!
I have an extra ticket since a friend bail on me last minute so if you need a ticket or are also going solo
Let me know!
