Boston Manor Gear

I'm totally new to pedals and I was wondering if anyone knows a little about what specific pedals or effects (or combination of effects) are used for that specific tone on recent songs such as Foxglove, Crocus, Desperate Pleasures and maybe more (you know, that effect)

Anyone here going to the show in Newcastle tonight?

If so could you please get a pic of the merch table and keep a (rough) track of the set list. My wife and I are seeing them in Sheffield tomorrow and would like to get an idea of what to expect.

Thanks 🙌🏻

We are so back (Sliding Doors)

What's everybody's thoughts on the new single? I think it's a massive improvement over Container. The guitar and drum sounds in this song are just perfection, almost leaning into "Wonderful Life" by BMTH territory. This feels like one of their heaviest tracks and it hits like a ton of bricks. It's not as hook-focused as Container was, but it feels like a more substantial song to me.

I hope this is allowed here - Boston Manor is my biggest inspiration for my band, and we just released a new song. Hoping someone here digs it! (bonus points if you can guess which specific BM song inspired this one)

CU title meaning?

I know they’ve said it means “Copper”, but with the context of the song, what does the title mean?

Does anyone else get Harry's Lumos spell sound vibes from Shelter From The Rain?

I was just listening to the song then and couldn't shake what the sound sounded like in the song, then I realised its very similar to when Harry's casting Lumos in bed at the beginning of PoA. Anyone else get the same vibes?

Us merch?

Hi! I just got into the band recently , a friend listens & got me hooked. I was just wondering- is there a specific place that’s good to buy merch in the states? I saw their recent drop was UK/EU exclusive, but the website acted like it was going to let me order anyway, so I was thinking maybe there’s another site to try so I don’t accidentally order something they can’t ship me.🙃

Boston Manor - Dirty Kitchens (Acoustic) - Here/Now (2014 Cassette Release)

Hey all, I was doing some digging and found this on the internet and uploaded to YouTube as I didn’t see it on there.

To my knowledge this was only available on the 2014 cassette release of Here/Now.

Selling 4 standing tix for HMAs

Hi all.

Hope you’re good.

I have four standing tickets for this Friday’s HMA’s with Boston Manor playing, UNDEROATH, loathe and Creeper.

I cannot go as my travel fell through and can’t afford to get to London.

Selling the tix at £10 each rather than £21.50. Happy to part with all 4 for £30. Happy to send proof etc etc.

Lemme know!

Pretty good stuff if you like electronic music like Bicep, Burial and stuff like that. Chill vibes but every song is a bop.

Fun Datura Fact

So right now on askreddit there is a post asking what’s the most fucked up thing you’ve seen on Reddit? And one of the responses was about a guy who posted about getting hold of Datura, and planned to document his experience. His updates were increasingly weird until all of the sudden they stopped and apparently the account hasn’t been used since.

I knew Datura was a flower, which was fun enough of a fact, but fuck does it get better. It turns out that Datura is a very niche drug too. The flower type belongs to the nightshade family, and is often known as moonflower, consisting of 9 varieties of extremely poisonous hallucinogenic flowers, they are such in part because they contain scopolamine, atropine, and hyosciamine. There is no part of Datura that is truly safe, however it appears that the order of least to most danger and also least to most psychoactive effect is leaves, flower, lighter seeds, and darker seeds.

It is, as far as I could tell, one of the most truly realistic hallucinogenic experiences a natural drug could provide, despite there being moments of weird shit like any average trip, and the… shall we say plot? of the hallucinations making little sense, many who have taken Datura report that their hallucinations were basically indistinguishable from reality both in mind and to all of their physical senses.

I believe that the specific 1/9 Datura flower they are referring to is either Datura innoxia or wrightii, the 2 Datura referred to most often as moonflower (ie Datura (Dusk))

But the other is Datura Stramonium, which, though less often nicknamed moonflower, has a name unique to it among datura: Devils Snare. It is recognized as one of the more poisonous varieties and is the only one that naturally grew in England.

Which leads me to the final fact of Datura I found interesting: it was made illegal to produce, supply, or import, Datura in 2016 under the Psychoactive act in the UK, However also it seems that since it’s still so niche and a commonly growing weed, it still grows and still is sold to the UK online, it kinda flies under the radar/a grey area according to some people who still grow it/ have to prevent it killing their garden/ buy it/ take it in the UK.

It gets better, as well as Datura, certain extracted chemicals from Foxglove mess with the nervous system, can control/regulate heart rate, and/or be toxic/fatal. And these chemicals are also sometimes used in preparation of other drugs. Crocus is the least blatantly drug/poison related, as the best known type is Crocus sativa, from which saffron is derived. However that and other varieties contain aphrodisiacs, anti-inflammatory agents, calming chemicals, and some gentle stimulants… oh yeah, the flower itself, especially the Autumn Crocus, is poisonous! Forgot that bit.

So yeah there are 3 flower songs on Datura, and they all are potentially toxic and contain fun drug chemicals. Fun Facts: The More You Know.

Please help me find a specific piece of merch!

So I'm trying to get my boyfriend the best Christmas present ever.

He's been a fan of the band since the very beginning and bought the gray sweater when the Saudade EP came out. Unfortunately he lost it a year ago and has been on the hunt for one since.

I've scoured the internet but to no avail. Does anyone have any sources for where to find one? Or better yet, does anyone has one that they're willing to sell to me?

Also sorry in advance: I'm on mobile and pretty new to posting on Reddit.

Anyone else finds it odd that Boston Manor wasn’t on the lineup for WWWY fest for either 2022 or 2023?

I mean so many other related bands were on the lineup, so why not them? Do you think they want to distance themselves from the scene or something?
