I’m from the area, but couldn’t get tickets. I’ve watched this video countless times and wanted to repost just to show appreciation for John and Shaun returning.
The band felt like it was on the decline at the time and this reunion brought life back into it. This feels like one of the best shows they’ve ever played.
Such an underrated banger overshadowed by the TAYF hits
be4 going to military for a year and a half!
Alright, There’s been a lot of debate about Adam Lazzara’s vocals over the years—some love his raw emotion and signature rasp, while others say his technique isn’t the strongest. Now, with this whole Ronnie Radke comparison floating around, I gotta ask… who do you think has the better voice?
Sorry for the grammar in case. Not a native speaker.
Anyway, this is related to a recently deleted post here so I made one myself.
I'll start off, maybe the band will not be playing the folk/country style they've been playing like the half of Happiness Is/Tidal Wave/152. But Adam might be doing his southern preacher accent and unnecessary goat vibrato singing but the TBS sound is still there.
Hbu?
This question has been like an itch in the back of my head since summer 2009. I went to one of their shows that had to be canceled due to an injury. I think one of the guys broke an arm or a leg. Regardless of that show goes on and someone requested a song and Adam said "We're damn proud of that song but we will never play it live again". What song!!
We love this song. Used to be in TBS tribute.
My emo pop-punk tribute band Cover City Soundtrack played a special show last night to raise money for Project Hope (helping those in LA affected by fires).
Wanted to share this stripped down version of "You Know How I Do'
If you are in NYC / LI check us out at an upcoming gig.
When Happiness Is… first came out, I wasn’t so sure I liked this song. It’s been so long that I can’t even recall why. All I know is that one day (maybe a year after the album came out)I had it playing in the car, and the swell of guitar feedback right before the last chorus hit me like a ton of bricks, and I realized that this song is actually one of the best on this album (which is saying a lot). Anyone else have that experience with this or any other TBS song?
(Side note: me screen-capping this with 1:52 left to go in the song was 100% accidental).
Will be very interested to see how much he opens up. Unreleased as of yet, was on his instagram
Looks like Fred made a surprise appearance and sang A Decade Under the Influence.
I don’t recall the TBS Instagram account ever sharing anything Fred related until the holiday show.
I will miss Mark on drums, but I’m glad to see this idiotic “feud” is officially over… at least from Taking Back Sunday’s standpoint.
Great song off his 2018 solo album. Definitely deserves more love
Best live performance I’ve found of this incredible song!
When the album first dropped i maybe listened to it 2-3 times max. Disliked it very much, enjoyed maybe 1 or 2 songs that’s it. In recent weeks i’ve been on a TBS kick and decided to revisit 152. Not exactly sure what changed but i can’t stop listening to it now. Been on constant repeat for days. Now look it’s nowhere near on the same level as their first 3 albums. Those bad boys are emo masterpieces. Not even sure if it’s better than Tidal Wave for me, that album was basically my 2016 summer jam. But i can confidently say this is a solid album, the first half is definitely stronger than the second half. I’m really enjoying 152 now for what it is.
How do you guys feel about 152?
Do you think TBS would have stayed very mainstream if John and Shaun had rejoined the band when Fred quit in 2007.
Not saying that New Again isn’t a good album as I do enjoy it (it is my least favorite TBS album), but I don’t think it capitalized on the success of Louder Now due to just being a solid album. The only real stand out on the album to me is “Swing” which they don’t even play anymore.
I personally believe if John and Shaun rejoined in 07 they would be more popular today. And that’s no knock on their current popularity as they still play big venues and have millions of monthly listeners.
Just a hypothetical
What happened?
Did The Blonde Shell forget a recording permit was required at the local pier?
Did Eddie finally hear the music?
Great behind the scenes look at the making of Tidal Wave
Very excited to see what this is like!
