Hey everyone, so I'm in a cover band and were thinking of doing pressing on by Relient K. The thing is our drummer is still new ish to drumming, he can play some basic pop punk and all that but pressing on is really fast and a bit complicated. Anyone know an easier way to play it or some advice for us?
Is there ever gonna be a new RK album or tour? I'm a newer fan and wish they were still active.
I doubt I’ll be able to justify any of his pedals in the near future but on the off chance I come across an unbelievable deal on one in the wild, I’m curious if it’s worth it outside of unique “merch”.
what was the name of the bands penguin that was first featured on the Deck the Hall album and then on the book???
Matt and Matt just did an Instagram live stream to show off some new 1981 Mmhmm pedals. They were answering a few questions and confirmed either a new song or album next year.
So… Does anyone here have the All Work and No Playlist vinyl? I wasn’t fortunate enough to snag one before it sold out, and honestly I’d be willing to buy it from someone (I can’t find any listings for it online). Feels like a solid relic that I need in the collection 😭
I have tried to find Relient K's rendition of the melody "Silent Night / Away in a Manger" to pair with I celebrate the day but SN/AIAM cannot be found. I was hoping someone could help out.
I'm also a fan of Adam.
If anyone is in Columbia, make sure to check it out!
Came across this and I'm just curious if anyone knows the story behind it? Why does it exist??? Relient K follows them and the pizza place often posts Relient K related things.
guys just 2.3m more streams on 'be my escape' and we're at 100m streams. which, of course, is more than a lot of the big artist with 1-5m listeners. like forrest frank, for example. or tobymac, for another one. but not chris tomlin.
Does anyone have any recommendations for Spanish bands that are similar to Relient K? I am learning Spanish, and I am so lost on how to find any music similar to what I like. So I figured I would check here just in case someone else has found something even remotely similar to any era of Relient K music
First time I’ve performed in 5 years! This is one of my favorite bands, and I hope they’d be proud.
Insteresting how in tb&tbs, they go straight from bee your man to up + up acoustic. They go straight from the humorous monologue, right into seriousness. Very odd track placement.
I forgot to mention this a few weeks ago when it happened, but I messaged Hoopes on the Relient K story he had posted on Instagram. It was a picture of Thiessen sitting with his luggage at an airport under a sign that said “TERMINALS”. I made a little joke, Hoopes responded, so I took the opportunity to ask about any potential RK tunes coming out.
It’s not much, but considering we have basically nothing from the band as far as solid expectations for any upcoming albums, it was nice to see this. Not trying to hate on the band—we all know at this point that they don’t publicize if they’re working on any new music.
If there is a full-length album on the way, hopefully we can get some info soon!
Reflecting on the final lyrics of Heartache. These lyrics seem to imply that the band is done looking for perfect in their music or fame in the world. I think this is a pretty profound thing for the band to write about. It seems this should inform how we feel about RK in this season of their life as a band.
Not sure if this is old news, but I was rewatching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and noticed the character Charles singing “Charles in Charge” from RK’s first album on season 3, episode 7 called “The Mattress”! Just a fun lil semi-cameo!
Okay actually I just discovered that song is a cover of a tv show theme song called Charles in Charge which is more likely what they’re referencing, but still thought it was cool to share!
