Post-Hardcore is a genre of music that developed from Hardcore Punk, itself an offshoot of the broader punk rock movement.

Idle Heirs, I am enjoying the hell out of the song. Album is coming in April. Also, Sean Ingram is the singer from Coalesce. I always hate when people assume everyone knows who a person is. There is no shame in not knowing every band member ever.
I know they get their most love for The Weak's End (which those albums are a toss up of being my favorite) and In Swallow Seas We Sail but listening to I'm Only A Man all the way through for the first time in years and I forgot how good the storytelling throughout the whole album is and each song gives such a different feel.
Emery is an underrated band in general. Never understood how they didn't get super super big. Saw them in my hometown in smalltown, IL in like 2008 or 2009 at a little all day event we would put on called Ampapalooza. They were the headliner and my dad was security and he got me backstage to meet them. Highlight of my teen years. 🤍
I’m looking to dig deeper into this type of music. I like bands like Casey (one of my all time favourites), Departures, Perspectives, Counterparts, and Loathe. I don’t mind super heavy bands but I do prefer the more melodic side of PHC. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks :)
Chester’s sustained scream in “Given Up” by Linkin Park certainly deserves its praise but after re-listening to “In Vogue” I think the song ER does as well.
Does make me wonder tho…are there others that didn’t get the same attention?
A lot of people have expressed interest in a subreddit for the older style of post-hardcore because of how different it sounds from much of the more modern post-hardcore.
r/90sPostHardcore was created a few years ago for that purpose (it's not limited to just post-hardcore from the 90s).
The sub was restricted for about a year because the old moderator deleted their account or something and there were no other mods, but now it is public again.
There's also r/OldschoolPostHardcore.
i want to get more into post hardcore, but i’m not sure where to start. i know the really popular bands, but how do i find more? i also want to learn more about the genre in general, does anyone know how i can? thank you!!!
im looking for bands/albums similar to the sounds of Back To Beautiful from Picturesque, Havent Been Myself from Too Close To Touch & Soulmade from Breathe Atlantis. Anybody have any bands or albums with a similar vibe to those 3 albums?
Hey! I recently discovered that Underoath put out a 5 song EP where they collaborated with the artist Less Gravity. They remade 5 songs from the "They're Only Chasing Safety" album in Lofi style. It's awesome if you haven't checked it out. I was wondering if you guys knew of any other post hardcore bands who have done this?
Thank you guys for the help :) I love this sub!
I'm particularly referring to their first two albums, the self-titled and Beyond Empty. They call themselves alt-rock in their Spotify bio which is a label I find unsatisfying due to how general it is. I've listened to a decent amount of Post-Hardcore and I feel like they could fit into the genre but they're never discussed. I love these two albums and feel they deserve some more attention, even if they lie a bit outside the definition of this genre. I'd love to know how the sub feels about this band.
Also if you have any recommendations based of these two albums I'd love to hear them.

Hands down one of my favorite album openings "are you listening"
I’ve been feeling very alone and and mentally unwell (hell yeah🦅🦅🦅), stuff lyrically adjacent to Creep by Radiohead or The Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin, or any song from Define The Great Line by Underoath
I’m going through some stuff and need some gut wrenching song recommendations that are similar, also open to any genre. Other songs that feel similar to me are dealer by Lana Del Rey and salt in the wound by boygenius.
