This community is still in the process of growing. Rules and community guidelines may change over time. Please be sure to check the sidebar and sticky posts often for the latest information, as it might be different than the last time you visited.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES AND RULES POSTED BELOW BEFORE SUBMITTING CONTENT!

So what kind of music/content is allowed here?

Basically, there a few guidelines and qualifications to posting here.

  • First: The music/content you are posting must be from a band/artist that is considered to be from the late 90's to late 00's era. To determine this, first examine if the band/artist you are about to post was either mostly active or rose to fame/hit their peak during this time period. If you aren't sure, check Wikipedia or send us a message to ask before posting. Anything from a band/artist whose career was most active after 2009/2010 belongs in a different subreddit. Since this can sometimes be subjective, it will be up to the community to decide if the content belongs or not. If your content does not meet this qualification or the community decides against it, your post will be subject to removal.

  • Second: The music must fall within these subgenres: punk, pop-punk, post-hardcore, metalcore, emo, hardcore, deathcore, ska, and other alternative/punk/metal music subgenres that can be considered within the same vain.

  • Third: We mostly encourage posting music/content that dates from the late 90's to late 00's era. However, music/content from any band/artist that fits the first two qualification above is welcome here in order to discuss it, regardless of when it was released.

  • Fourth: News articles, tour dates, discussions, and other topics of interest are allowed to be posted here, as long as it meets the qualifications above.

Examples of artist that are allowed here:

Blink-182, New Found Glory, The Used, Thrice, Killswitch Engage, Underoath, Saosin, Motion City Soundtrack, A Day To Remember, Chiodos, Box Car Racer, Reggie and The Full Effect, Less Than Jake, Norma Jean, Emery, Allister, The Early November, Bright Eyes, Senses Fail, Finch, ect.

Examples of artist that are NOT allowed here:

The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Northlane, Architects, Dance Gavin Dance, Modern Baseball, Real Friends, Counterparts, Knuckle Puck, Pierce the Veil ect.

NOTE: Even though some of the bands released music prior to 2009/2010, they didn't gain popularity or have the most active points of their career until after. This is where the community will have to come in and decide what is allowed and what isn't. We have nothing against these bands! They would just be more welcomed in the other subreddits.

Gray area content that is possibly not allowed and may or may not be removed after reviewing:

Covers of songs, your buddies band that was popular in your hometown during this time period and never went anywhere, a photo of you with some band member, plugs for your band that sounds like old school Green Day, new side-projects involving one or more members of veteran bands, photos of your record collection

Rules:

  • When posting a song, please use this format: Artist - Song Title (Optional: any small comment you want to make) Anything that doesn't follow this format will be subject to removal and you will be asked to post again.
  • PLEASE FLAIR YOUR POST! Use flair to show off what era the music is from. Hint: use Wikipedia, Google, or message the mods if you aren't sure.
  • No links or asking for links to download copyrighted content illegally. Support the musicians.
  • Don't be a dick. This pretty much covers a wide range of behaviors and/or actions. Anyone that causes problems will be subject to a ban.
  • If you think something doesn't belong, downvote it and start a discussion about it in the comments section. It might be a good idea to report it to the mods so we can review it. Be nice about it. Acting like a jerk will possibly get you banned.
  • On the reverse side, don't act like a crybaby or dick if someone thinks the content you posted doesn't belong. Music is subjective. State your case clearly on why you think it belongs in this sub. If the community and/or mods disagree, your post will either get a red "Not a Throwback" flair or removed all together, depending on the content.
  • No memes.
  • No selling merch or concert tickets. We aren't responsible for you getting scammed.
  • No over-the-top self promotion for your band. (Example of what's ok: "Check out my band playing with Senses Fail back in 2004!" Example of what's not ok: "BUY MY BANDS NEW ALBUM! COMING OUT NEXT WEEK! FFO: FALL OUT BOY, EVERY TIME I DIE, AND TAKING BACK SUNDAY! OMG OUR DRUMMER HAS CANCER AND WILL DIE PLEASE CHECK IT OUT!")

PLEASE HELP ME REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS ONE MOVIE FROM THE EARLY 2010s!

PLEASE HELP ME REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS ONE MOVIE FROM THE EARLY 2010s!

so back when me and my sister were toddlers we can recall watching this one animated princess movie where this blonde princess goes into a huge pink magical castle and has like a party (?) it starts with her in a carriage that takes her to this castle and upon entrance, she steps on this pinkish purple heart push plate that opens the door. when she goes inside, i strictly remember a bowl of fruit being offered to her and she eats one single purple grape in one gulp. the castle moves according to these random magentaish looking heart shaped push plates for some reason.the rest is a bit fuzzy but throughout the movie she invites all her friends to have a party and while they get ready everything falls apart. also i remember her wardrobe was huge and came out of the wall. me and my sister used to watch this movie all the time as a kid but no one seems to remember. I feel like its too niche for anyone to know but if you do PLEASE let me know! ive been on a hunt to find this movie for years.

For anyone interested

Not sure if this is allowed but I created a sub to separate 90s post hardcore from the 2000s stuff that r/posthardcore is flooded with. So if you're interested in fugazi and unwound over saosin or pierce the veil, well here ya go
