Am I the only one who thought this arc was actually pretty good?? For a filler arc I thought it tied well into the world building aspect. Would love to learn more about Ergates in the future/ hope xeno n lilith return!
Here's a short primer on putting people against one another or trying to figure out what happened during a fight in this series (esp rank wars or other border v border, like Black Trigger Retrieval).
I don't think most of you can really use this but some people have been especially obnoxious. Tourists, i guess.
1: An agent can only use one trigger from the Main half and one trigger from the Sub half at any given time. Each trigger has its own deal with being "formed/out but not ON" which has to be treated separately. Some option triggers take up a slot but don't actually count towards this limit, but these aren't that common; the one that mostly comes to mind is Spider.
2: When an agent acts, the trigger the agent is using to act is effectively "busy" and can't be used to handle other stuff in that instant. For example: Nino in the final round uses both his slots for asteroid, and so he doesn't have any slots for using shield to block osamu's shots. Chika's infinite lead bullet works uses both slots so she can't shield AND use lead hound or lead lightning.
3: As a result of 1 and 2, agents at any given moment have effectively 2 "slots" they can handle things with. Some things take both slots; blocking an ibis typically requires double shields, lead bullet shooting requires a shooter trigger and lead bullet, etc.
4: If you divide the time in a fight into many little instants and pieces, then, using these two "slots," you have created the Action Token system used in the exam battle sim. Oops. Even so, in any given situation, you have to analyze based on these slots. For example, when hyuse and kuga face off against murakami, murakami finds a clever way to senkuu both of them. Murakami's kogetsu is occupied doing the senkuu. Murakami's raygust is still being formed. Kuga can land, step forward, and stab murakami before murakami can turn around to block properly, but by that time hyuse is dead from the senkuu. Instead, kuga can kick the escudo, which is much faster, but it also slows kuga down from doing the killing blow himself as he has to land, adjust his posture a bit, and then step forward, and by that time Hyuse's kogetsu has already stabbed murakami.
5: Combining the two-slot system and the environment, you should be able to do a comprehensive and more balanced analysis of any fight you want to pit. For example, a hypothetical hyuse vs murakami 1v1 is usually very difficult for murakami because hyuse can force murakami to defend via "asteroid" (or just straight using the viper trajectories) and suppress murakami until his raygust and shield breaks. That's why Kuruma and taichi are important, to keep murakami from getting solo'd by a guy with strong ranged attacks, after all, and that's also why the "new formation" is even more important. If kuruma was single-gunning against Kuga and Hyuse, hyuse could compete with just his viper and they could play ranged or at least play footsies kinda deal. Instead, kuruma double-gun massively overpowers hyuse's single viper.
6: As a result of the two-slot system and general fragility of trion bodies, the fights in WT are entirely kit-based. Hyuse can make Murakami's life pain in a 1v1, but Kuga's mobility allows him to stay on top of hyuse and make it difficult to leverage viper's extra range. In turn, kuga has a tough time against murakami because murakami likes opps that grapple him in close combat where he can sit on defense instead of charging forward. Kageura vs Kuga or vs Murakami is basically entirely dependent on the environment (and how hard they're each trying on that particular day, but we assume they're not throwing, so). Hell the entire Nino vs Yuba conversation is about this very conclusion.
7: Side effects, team combos, and other specialties only further this kit-based nature. Kage and Jin are basically immune to sniping, sometimes not even needing a slot to evade shots (especially Jin, with his foresight. his dodges are so absurd sometimes). Kikuchihara has his ears which nullifies entire trigger sets (servitora, anyone? not to mention chameleon or bagworm half-stealth). Kuga + Osamu + Wires is easily an A rank duo/Top B rank Trio, even if Osamu barely 1v1s a marmod; the scaling factor here is kinda insane.
As a result of the above, please stop comparing *just* the numbers when you talk about agents fighting each other. It physically hurts (me, anyways) when it doesn't take that much more effort to just pick a situation and see how it plays out based on each side's kit. It's not that numbers say literally nothing (there is a massive gap between Tachikawa and, say, Sasamori for a reason) but that there's much more comprehensive ways to analyze it right there in front of you.
Hey everyone on this ep of World Trigger around 17:55 there's an aswome ost. Does anyone know where I can find it ive been searching for years. Its also heard in Ep 5 when there trying to save the city and Yuma uses the chain feature.
https://youtu.be/feGR6f6KzVg?t=13 You can find the type of song im looking for in this time stamp here. Any help would be appricated!!!
5 rounds, both have help from operators and the maps, their climates and positions are totally random. Who would win/what would the results be?
(As an added bonus, Kuga would know about Tamakoma 1's Triggers, so if he decides to copy any of his Triggers, it won't be that costly since it won't be necessary to analyze the trigger. Regarding Tamakoma 1, they have the information from the two battles in which Kuga showed up with his Black Trigger and that's it. )
Who would win I find this would be very interesting The rules will be the one we saw against kuga 10 rounds 15 minute break after 5
I want my side effect to be vibration sense. can detect vibrations in a set amount of radius around me, meaning i can detect any movements from an enemy even if they're hiding behind a wall, smokescreen and chameleon are also useless. What would be your side effect?
All Meeden Black Trigger users have a Side Effect.
What possible Side Effects could Aftokrator Black Trigger users have?
Maybe...
Obviously, these examples don’t match their personalities, but you get the idea...
For some reason, I think he only uses it for a better future. Or, that simply because his mentors were friends (rivals), he feels the need to protect him. Still, I can't help but feel that if he had to harm him in some way for a better future, he would do it, I don't know if I explain myself.
Using the image above, what are your personal trigger loadout would be?
here's mine:
scorpion scorpion
grasshoper grasshoper
teleporter lightning
idaten lead bullet
I mainly prioritize speed that's why i have grasshoper, teleporter and idaten. I imagine this to be a grass hoping sniper, sniping while in the sky. I chose scorpion for melee because it's very versatile.
If people before like Jin tamakoma 1 and others did squad rankings where do u think they would be ranked without their special stuff like black triggers custom triggers etc
The "Plot Hole" that I have seen others talk about with World Trigger is how Yuma was told by his father Yugo that he wasn't a Border member but only had a friend in Border. The reason this is a plot hole is because it is later found out that Yugo was a founding member, which leaves a contradiction, I've seen people say that this means Yuma is lying but I don't think that's the case. In Chapter 18 Yuma tells Chika his dad's 3 lessons, they are: "protect your own hide" with the reason being that parents can't protect their children forever and to deal with problems by yourself or be creative in avoiding them, the second is "There's more than one right answer" the reasons is to never limit yourself by focusing on one answer, and the last lesson is " Parents aren't always right" this is the most important and telling as to why I believe Yugo lied to Yuma about be a founding Border member.
These lessons that Yugo taught Yuma was for him to become independent, Yugo wanted to give Yuma his knowledge but didn't want him to follow them to the letter, he said that parents aren't always right because he wanted Yuma to make judgment calls himself without looking towards his father's lessons as the definitive way to deal with issues. The reason why he didn't tell Yuma is because it's better for a person to realize the answer on their own rather than it just being told to them, sort of the opposite to Wakamura in the latest chapters.
This matches my theory of Yuga lying to Yuma about him being a founding member because he didn't want Yuma to just stroll up to Border and ask for help because he probably knew that the citizens would react negatively to him but he also didn't want Yuma to turn away from them either because making Border his enemy would only lead to his death. He trusted that Yuma with everything that was taught would be able to reach his own right answer on how to approach the situation, and as we can see he did with big help of course.
Please tell me what you all think of this theory, did I miss a detail, are there other theories out their, I look forward to the responses.
Does it mean something? I love it, every time some does that face I laugh 😂😂 just wondering
From depressed to proud to unknown feeling lol
Yūma Kuga A pint-sized menace with the attitude of a middle-aged retiree. For someone who’s technically dead, he sure has a lot of energy to flex on weaker characters. And can we talk about his "I’m totally normal, I promise" routine? Bro, your very existence screams main character plot armor.
Osamu Mikumo The king of "I have a plan" but then stands there like a deer in headlights when things go south. You’ve got the brains, but where’s the backbone? You’re basically the guy who brings a calculator to a sword fight and still manages to mess up basic math.
Chika Amatori The walking nuke who’s afraid to press the launch button. "Oh no, I can’t hurt anyone!" Girl, you just leveled half a battlefield without blinking. You’re the reason every enemy squad has PTSD and therapy bills.
Jin Yuichi You’ve got future sight, a smirk, and too much free time. How about using that foresight to stop being a cryptic edgelord and actually help your team? Nah, you’d rather be the manga’s unofficial meme factory. "Just trust me, bro."
Hyuse A literal alien prince who acts like the Border kids are lucky to have him. My guy, you’re stranded in a backwater world, stuck doing chores for Tamakoma-2. Quit acting like you’re royalty and start cleaning Osamu’s boots like the rest of us.
Reiji Kizaki The overachieving muscle-head who’s so perfect it’s annoying. Dude’s probably bench-pressing tanks while reading books on advanced strategy. Reiji, can you let someone else win at something for once?
Tamakoma Squad The "plucky underdogs" trope cranked up to 11. You’re a chaotic mix of the OP, the useless, and the overworked, held together by duct tape and sheer luck. Every match feels like an under-budget anime arc.
Miwa Squad Ah yes, Mr. "I hate Neighbors but secretly rely on them." You’ve got a gun fetish and a personality as bland as toast. Even your Triggers are just glorified FPS weapons. What’s next, a DLC pack?
Border Headquarters A bunch of over-glorified office workers who can’t go five minutes without backstabbing each other. Maybe if you spent less time playing politics, the Neighbors wouldn’t treat your planet like a fast-food joint.
The Neighbors "Let’s kidnap people and see what happens." That’s your plan? For a bunch of advanced aliens, you sure are giving Saturday morning cartoon villain vibes. Half of you look like rejected Digimon designs.
Replica The walking Swiss Army knife with zero personality. You’re just Google Maps with an attitude, and honestly, Yūma could’ve swapped you out for an iPhone and no one would notice.
Enedora The walking Halloween costume who’s all bark and no bite. For someone with such a big ego, you sure got smacked around like a piñata. Nice cube form, though—real intimidating.
The Rank Wars Ah yes, the glorified talent show where kids shoot lasers at each other for clout. "Training for the real war," huh? More like filler arcs disguised as competition.
Our boy was becoming more and more capable every fight. In last four games he was consistently scoring, and I think it’s not a stretch to say that he will achieve low or medium A individual agent rank in a few years.
If it were to happen, how do you think would his fighting style evolved? What would be his modified personalized triggers if any?
I think him becoming some sort of guardian would be amazing. We know that there are unique/rare roles in A-ranked teams like trappers or spotters. Defender or Guardian role would fit him well. I would love to see him working on his fighting skills focusing on stalemating, pushing, blocking, tripping and slowing down his opponents. Make my boy a literal wall that cannot be pushed back
If y’all could make new ones what would u guys make also I mean things such as chameleon wires etc
(Border agent as in not including galopoula etc.)
Are there any other Ema or Kikuchihara fans out there? I know these two arent the most popular but I've just had a connection to them since they were first shown.
