Abiding by the first two is standard no matter where you post on this site, but in this community there is an expectation of practicing good reddiquette when you can. This includes your comments, submissions, and any other communication or activity on this subreddit. Also do not post NSFW content or illegal content.
Posts must discuss a topic. Put in the effort to write at least a few sentences talking about it. You can't just bring something up for others to discuss without discussing the topic first yourself. The exception is when you share content which is worthwhile in its own right, such as news, or art.
Examples which are NOT allowed, without additional discussion:
If you have a question which is asking for some information, instead of starting a discussion about a topic, don't post it here. Instead, please ask in the "Q&A and Ruling Megathread". It's the post pinned at the top of /r/Yugioh. We also have /r/Yugioh101. It is a subreddit for helping new and returning players. If you are a new player asking for advice, we recommend you post there instead.
You cannot ask about what items are worth. You cannot ask if cards are worth grading, or what grade they would get. You cannot buy, sell, or trade. It is okay to discuss the economy of the game. You can discuss price trends, etc. For checking prices, use sites like TCGplayer, Cardmarket, or ebay. For niche items, you might not be able to find prices on these sites, but we still don't allow posts for asking about them. For buying, selling, or trading, use /r/YGOMarketplace.
When posting your Deck List, you must make sure all card names are comfortably readable. We recommend using a site like YGOPRODECK to share the Deck List. You can use a screenshot of your Deck, but the image resolution must be good enough that the card names can be read. You cannot rely on people recognizing the cards from the images alone. Your post's title must make it clear which deck you're playing.
If you're posting your own art, your post much say that it's yours. For example: "Kaiba artwork I made". If you're posting someone else's art, or news, your post must include a link to the source. Make sure that any information you post is correct. Make sure that it is not presented in a misleading way.
90% of your activity on this subreddit must be unrelated to advertising your content. For example, if you want to post one of your YouTube videos, you should participate in the comments of other posts first. Engage in genuine discussions with people. If you think you have something important to advertise, message the mods first to ask if we can make exception.
The exact phrasing you use in card text is important. Look at recent cards with similar effects to yours. Read these to learn how card text is written: Problem Solving Card Text and Lantern's Custom Card Guide. Your title must make it clear that this is not a real card. Include a link to the source for artwork used.
Do not make posts which are just for showing off pictures of cards, or other items like boxes, packs, or action figures. Please use /r/YugiohShowcase instead.
We don't allow memes. You can post in /r/YugiohMemes instead.
We don't allow multiple posts about the same topic within a short space of time. If there has recently been another post about the same topic, you should comment in that one instead of making a new post.
Posts must be about Yu-Gi-Oh!

With the new P.U.N.K support everyone is complaining about the bad card design by just giving every deck "quick effect negate"
And then you have other people saying that's good because now P.U.N.K can deal with nibiru
Every deck now needs a negate to deal with nibiru which limits diversity.
Just ban nibiru and let every deck do its own thing instead of every deck being forced to have a negate
What is Surgical Striker HAMP ? I read through the manga and I didn't notice it appearing. Maybe I mistaked it for a Spectra drone or a Zeke variant or something like that when I was reading it? Is it meant to be the Pylon and Aileron mech after they combined together?
Dont put Demon #35324532 cuz thats boring.
Imo it should be Number 9: Dyson Sphere, just imagine having a duel and your opponent summons that sh1t, with ACCURATE size. (Biggest monsters in whole YGO).
For anyone who watched the virtual world arc (or tgs anime’s duel analysis), kaiba had 2 opportunities to win: ring of destruction on noah’s vampire lord & atk directly with spear dragon OR atk with twin headed thunder dragon 1st during the turn his monsters dealt piercing dmg. But none of these mattered cos noah was gonna play the hostage card with mokuba anyways. It’d only change how early in the duel noah gonna bring mokuba out & use him as a shield.
Went shopping for a simple shirt for a job interview and ended up coming across these. Thank goodness for layaway this holiday season.
When it comes to Yugioh Protags many of them have one card they always use to get them out of a pinch and yank their butt out of the fire. For example when it comes to the OG series and GX I know for a matter of fact the protags would not win anywhere near as much if Pot of Greed was a thing. Seriously whenever they are at a disadvantage its always. “I activate Pot of Greed to draw two cards!” Every damn time. Which protag would lose much more often if they didn’t have their crutch card?
I have seen some people get upset with the newly announced "Ignister" cards because although they give the deck a power boost and are good in cybers piles they don't really mesh with what a pure "ignister" was. This got me thinking about legacy support in general when it comes to pet decks and if its worth making a deck competitively good or some cases remotely viable at the cost of what drew you to the deck in the first place.
Would it be worth it to have "crystal beast" as a tire 1 deck if none of the cards that suddenly made it meta had anything to do with putting monsters in the back row and clearing your opponent's graveyard, or some other beloved deck just not doing the thing its known for and becoming a powerhouse?
How strong is it in this current format? What sre your thoughts on this card?
I specify non-archetype to keep this interesting. Myself I've become a fan of Dinomorphia (shoutout to this sub), so I'm 1 legal Imperial Order away from being an absolute menace to society.
So I am a 30plus year old who constantly swaps between decks and I am always on the lookout for my (forever deck) my identity lol. I've been on this journey for awhile now and I've decided it doesn't hurt to reach out online in for some outside dialogue<3
For more context here are the decks I've built and played. Blue eyes fusion
Dark magician ritual
D/d/d
Eldlich
Six Sam's
Ice barrier
Red dragon archfiend
Dark world
Heros
Crystal beasts
Branded cyber dragon
Monarch
Floowanderwreeze
Ancient gear
Galaxy eyes
Dinosaurs
Blackwing kashtira
Gravekeepers.
Chaos dragons
(Fav deck that I enjoyed the most out of these is heros pile)
(Least fav is blackwings because I think that deck is too complicated for me but I've only had like 15 games with it so I'm not sure if it's me or the deck)
Childhood decks that I built
Relinquished
Solar flare dragon with gravity bind
Gate guardian with ultimate offering and scapegoat
Decks that I am interested in
Scrap, cyber angel, drytron, naturia, lightsworn, x sabers, red eyes ritual burn, gishki, modern gate guardian, momento, voiceless, insect pile, frogs for d3s frog, pile decks are cool imo.
Additional note here: I think this feeling started back in 2019?? I'm not sure exactly when but some time ago I found out about good ole Payne96 and his enduring love for volcanics. I am essentially looking for my volcanics. I have severe adhd so I've bouncing around between decks for like 5 years or so and it's killing me lol. I love a lot of decks and strats too that don't exist that I yearn for like an updated shinato king of a higher plane or the creator and a deck for barrel dragon would be steller.
I am sorry for the long winded post, Im just stressed and I'm trying to give as much info as I can. I really appreciate ya stopping by and taking a read even if you can't help and I completely understand, again appreciate you and your time and any help that you can give. I'm trying to be as open minded to suggestions as possible so tell me why X is cool and should be played and be giving a streamer/representation!
Tl;Dr: need help picking a forever deck and identity that I'm always synonymos with. Thank you for your time. <3
More random, More risky, More complicated, and More tedious than before.
No good targets for it until dark dragoon came out
Once verte got banned it became useless
If you play it you’re lock out of normal/special summoning aside from setting
I have a friend with whom I talk about ygo all the time. We both love it, but we don't love it equally. We both play Master Duel, I've playing it active since minute 1, almost every day, and he's on and off.
The problem is, however, that he only likes the original anime and categorically rejects everything after that. Even in Master Duel, he pretty much only plays Relinquished. I mean, I understand it a little. It's the og that we grew up with and we're German, so we have this incredibly good DUB. But, as I said, he completely rejects every other ygo anime.
So, what do I need your help with? He made me a deal after I really annoyed him about watching 5Ds. He said I should pick a duel, even one over several episodes, that is damn good. If what he sees is good enough, there's a chance that we could watch it.
So what 5Ds episode/episodes should I show him? I really don't want to screw it up and it's been a while since I last saw it.
A few details about what he likes and dislikes:
- His favorite Yugioh arc is Duelist Kingdom and his favorite duel is the Pegasus Duel against Yugi. Who would have thought that after he almost only plays Relinquished.
- He is obsessed with Toons but he doesn't like cute carts. He says Toons have this creepy uncanny feeling
- His favorite character is Pegasus
- He likes ygo because of the anime not because of the manga or TCG
- He doesn't like Waifu themed cards and more what goes into the Eldritch Horror vibes direction
- He hates Timelords (so the finale is not an option)
- He wants tough fights and heavy stakes
- And he HATES GX. The origin of the complete rejection for everything that comes after classic
That's basically it. The episode has to be perfect. It's my only chance :c
What’s your favorite dueling simulator? I like the ability to do practice duels against the computer with any card in Dueling Nexus, but I’ve seen ones that look better visually. Wondering if they hold up mechanically and what other way they compare.
Tierzero and kong games are all sold out. Didn’t have time to pick up singles when they were dirt dirt cheap like 6 pound lord of the heavenly prison qcr. Anyone know where to get either bulk secret or lower rares or qcr stuff?
The title.
Does anyone know where to buy OCG products?
I could've swore I heard about a online store that sells OCG products directly to the TCG terriortories without the insane upcharge. Maybe it was a fever dream.
The only place I can think of to buy OCG products is eBay.
Watercolor on canvas, except the letters. I took a break from watercoloring to Sharpie in the letters, and lo and freaking behold... "Noremal" type. FML. I'm still going to finish it (so it's not a complete waste).
It's also lasered in (which is how I missed it in the first place), so I can't just paint over it. I must have fat fingered it when I was retyping it.
Would drywall mud fill in laser gaps? Also, if that works, is a 5w laser enough to etch in drywall?... questions for later I guess.
A more random and more balance(hopefully) "Sixth Sense"
Hi, like the title say, i am looking for decks you can grind a lot without getting bored and you have many options and builds you can play. I can´t test on Locals or anything that much because of my work. When i am on a business trip i like to take 1-2 decks with me and test them, sometimes play against myself (yes it sounds dumb), then mabye change something and so on. Are there any recommandations.
Many thanks in advance!
