Abiding by the first two is standard no matter where you post on this site, but in this community there is an expectation of practicing good reddiquette when you can. This includes your comments, submissions, and any other communication or activity on this subreddit. Also do not post NSFW content or illegal content.
Posts must discuss a topic. Put in the effort to write at least a few sentences talking about it. You can't just bring something up for others to discuss without discussing the topic first yourself. The exception is when you share content which is worthwhile in its own right, such as news, or art.
Examples which are NOT allowed, without additional discussion:
If you have a question which is asking for some information, instead of starting a discussion about a topic, don't post it here. Instead, please ask in the "Q&A and Ruling Megathread". It's the post pinned at the top of /r/Yugioh. We also have /r/Yugioh101. It is a subreddit for helping new and returning players. If you are a new player asking for advice, we recommend you post there instead.
You cannot ask about what items are worth. You cannot ask if cards are worth grading, or what grade they would get. You cannot buy, sell, or trade. It is okay to discuss the economy of the game. You can discuss price trends, etc. For checking prices, use sites like TCGplayer, Cardmarket, or ebay. For niche items, you might not be able to find prices on these sites, but we still don't allow posts for asking about them. For buying, selling, or trading, use /r/YGOMarketplace.
When posting your Deck List, you must make sure all card names are comfortably readable. We recommend using a site like YGOPRODECK to share the Deck List. You can use a screenshot of your Deck, but the image resolution must be good enough that the card names can be read. You cannot rely on people recognizing the cards from the images alone. Your post's title must make it clear which deck you're playing.
If you're posting your own art, your post much say that it's yours. For example: "Kaiba artwork I made". If you're posting someone else's art, or news, your post must include a link to the source. Make sure that any information you post is correct. Make sure that it is not presented in a misleading way.
90% of your activity on this subreddit must be unrelated to advertising your content. For example, if you want to post one of your YouTube videos, you should participate in the comments of other posts first. Engage in genuine discussions with people. If you think you have something important to advertise, message the mods first to ask if we can make exception.
The exact phrasing you use in card text is important. Look at recent cards with similar effects to yours. Read these to learn how card text is written: Problem Solving Card Text and Lantern's Custom Card Guide. Your title must make it clear that this is not a real card. Include a link to the source for artwork used.
Do not make posts which are just for showing off pictures of cards, or other items like boxes, packs, or action figures. Please use /r/YugiohShowcase instead.
We don't allow memes. You can post in /r/YugiohMemes instead.
We don't allow multiple posts about the same topic within a short space of time. If there has recently been another post about the same topic, you should comment in that one instead of making a new post.

I've noticed before that some of the playmats I've seen at locals seem to have a Banished Zone labeled on it, placing it between their Graveyard and the opponent's field Zone. However, when playing some of the video games, anything banished is placed on the right of the player's Graveyard. This has got me confused on whether or not Konami has officially mentioned where to place cards that are Banished, ie. An official Banished Zone.
If Pegasus was actually successful in acquiring all 7 millenniums items, could they really bring someone back from the dead or do you think him getting his lover back was a false vision so Pegasus would start the chain events that would ultimately lead to the prophecy of Atem being fulfilled?
So i have 4 Options 🥰 :
Improving my old SkyStriker Deck with cards Like Typhoon and TTThrust etc
Building SkyStriker Tenpai
Building Blue eyes with an engine, but which one? (Primite is too expensive for me rn)
-> 3.1 blue eyes Invoked -> 3.2 Blue eyes BusterBlader -> 3.3. Blue eyes Centurion -> 3.4 Blue eyes pur (with Like Bingo machine, Crimson Dragon etc.) -> 3.5 Blue eyes Red Eyes Metall -> 3.6 Blue eyes Bystial
My Budget would be roundabout 100€
I really Love White Forrest azamina but its to expensive :(
Hope you Guys can Help me 🥰
Got back into the hobby around COVID, lost interest for a while, picked up Pokemon in the past year - that’s become super chaotic olin the past few months.
I recently started to organise all my TCG and fell in love with YGO cards again. I won’t be able to rip open packs / boxes like I used to do so, but I’m very happy that I’ll be able to afford the cards that I’m after for my collection 🥰
Currently making a long list of female / cute cards that I want in my collection ♥️ I didn’t realise there were so many now days! My favours are the Live / Evil twins!
I mentally cry at how much dragon maid and yokai girls are though.
That’s all I wanted to say. It’s nice to be back ♥️
Yep, I'm asking for three of my currently playable and fixated decks of the time.
Dark World has been my day 1 main deck. I'm thankful it's gotten new support over the time with new generics and engines splashable to the deck but I'm looking for some spice. Right now I'm running Dark World-Danger-Fiendsmiths.
I recently picked up HERO with the release of Duel Ignition available in Asian English. It's cheap and ready to play. Also new supports of Evil Hero arrived in SUDA and ALIN. I'm playing a mix of Elemental, Destiny and EVIL HEROes.
Ryu-ge has also been sitting in my binder, and new supports came along with ALIN so i might as well build it, since it's a budget-friendly deck. I'm playing a pure variant.
This has been a mix of three decks in one post. Any inputs to improve or try on these three decks would be appreciated.
For me it would be
A friend of mine was wanting to know from you fine folks on wether or not you can use super transformation to get out the pokemon and also if that is even worth the effort.
Idk enough of either ninja or ryu and so I was hoping I could get some help here so I that I maybe able to help my friend out.
I appreciate it and have a great day
As an old BE player and Dragon enjoyer I admit I am hyped. I especially like how it gives more options. Its also very fun (and typical of Konami) seeing cards that used to be 20 bucks each go into ten buck decks. I will getting the obligatory 3. What do you think?
I really love the deck art but can't find a vidéo talking about the lore , anyone have one or know it ?
For the full story, i stopped playing yugs and moved into comptetaive mtg in 2016-2018 (still played but a lot less those last 2yr), i still loved yugioh (still do) and think the mechanics are great. That said i quit fot several reasons, my 2 best friends are goin back in and trying perty hard to get me to join them, im not completely oppose but i need some 3rd party imput. Heres the reasons why i quit and why im leary of returning.
-it became impossiable to get any kinda return on your investment, (not that any tcg pays for itself, but this is really bad in yugs compared to other games) decks are so expensive and due to yugs having really crap prizes at events and what amounts to forced rotation in the form of aggressive power creep and bans i was only getting the opportunity to play a deck maybe 10x before its banned/un-viable and im forced into a new direction while my cards lost most if not all value, thats an extremely hard pill to swallow for a guy with a family as it felt like burning money.
-the yugioh community at large really sucks, granted this isnt that big of a deal, but having played mtg, pkmn and other tcg's the yugioh community is kinda crap, everyone seems out to screw everyone else over at all times, on trades, trying to scam young players outa good cards, theft is a huge problem because trading is so much more accepted and used more than other games. These problems obviously happen in all games and maybe its my community, but i cant ever recall a regionals ive been too where they didnt announce at least 1x that someone had a deck box, binder, bag ect, stolen.
-yugioh is just hard to play comptetaively, not litterally but given they have no online scene that allows for tournament play or truely comptetaive play its basically just locals if you wana scratch that itch witch require im at a place at a time or im outa luck, magic arena and magic online allow me to play in regional sized events at home multiple times a week and win sealed boxes, special cards, and even pro tour invites (not that im a pt player, but you can qualify playing only online) this fits extremely well with my life schedule.
-i dont have the head space or time to play 2 tcg's comptetaively and if i cant be good or at least comptetaive i dont wana play. Im too comptetaive to be ok with playing some random jank pile and go 1-4 at locals. So id really be forced into 1 lane or the other and i need some good reasons for the yugs community to make the switch back.
-the game changed and i really didnt like how the gameplay shifted from small ball games where you won by gaining a bunch of small advantages that snowballed into wins where player skill really shined, into 1 card +7's and crazy combos where 25% of your deck had to be hand traps to stand a chance. It felt like the deck was winning more games than the players skill was and thats not a place i like to be.
Im not here to hate on the yugioh community or the game, i love yugioh. Its mechanically the best tcg ever created, but I also quit for a reason and idk if those reasons are still valid. Id love some imput from non-trolls, that can either sway me or confirm my choice
I’ve started dipping my toes into other TCGs since I’ve only ever played Yugioh all my life.
The surprise I felt that in games like One Piece, some of the best meta decks can be made for less than a playset of Engraver was eye opening.
Yugioh has always been expensive. And I’ve always tried to justify it with “oh all hobbies are expensive” or “well once you buy the staples…” but man it really is getting harder and harder to justify these prices. The fact that some deck cores alone can cost upwards of $400 is crazy. Not to mention Konami’s tendency to only make decks playable for a certain amount of time.
Is anyone else in this mindset lately? How are you guys justifying the cost of the game? Personally, it feels like Konami is actively trying to get me to stop playing their game.
Am i going crazy, or did they change the card stock with the SUDA release cards? To me they feel a little more plastick-y, like some of the speed duel cards.
I want to build a Chronomaly deck, but a lot of cards have very restrictive xeno locks (some even going as far as to say "You can only use 'chronomaly' effects").
So me question is: Using only the memebers of the archetype with non restrictive effects (or as few of them with locks as possible), what kind of deck can I build?
I've thought of mixing with Adamancipator of course but I also wonder if its possible to build an efficient chronomaly / rock-type support pile.
I've been looking at Fiendsmith "decks" on YGOPRO and, most of the time, they are there more as a secondary engine to the deck's actual, intended playstyle.
Which is why I ask how viable the Fiendsmith theme is as its own deck, meaning its themed cards take up the majority of the deck in question, with little to no other cards from other themes mixed in.
