My Poké Transporter app is on Version 1.4 but apparently there's a Version 1.5. The app doesn't auto update or offer me one when I attempt to use it but obviously it's no longer on the Shop either so I can't search for an update manually. From my understanding, if I delete the app it's gone for good correct? Is there any way to update it as is or do I have to rely on modding?
Asking to see if anyone here knows the specifics. The item Metronome increases move damage by 10% for each successful use. Notably I say on bulbapedia that for moves like fly,dig and dive, the first turn counts to this so when they deal damage it has the boost. What I'm wondering is on the second turn does it also increase the counter? So it it 10%-30%-50% each hit of fly or does the second turn break the chain?
After realizing I will not ever marry and have kids, I realized I will always have some time to play Pokémon. Since I hate new games I am buying used cartridges of old games, such as HG. However I have only one cartridge and one 3DS, so I can not get trade evolutions.
I want a Dragon type team for the postgame battle facilities and even though I want to also use dragonlike, non Dragon type Pokémon for balancing reasons, I need Kingdra. In gen 2 to 5 it had only 1 weakness, and while in gen 5 you can catch one in the wild, in gen 2 to 4 you need to trade.
Is there a way to LEGALLY change the cartridge data so I can steal Clair's Kingdra ?
I NEED it to be fully legal, because I do not want to be involved into shady, gray area activities and I live in Italy and here the police is powerful, effective and ironfisted.
I also think Clair deserves it. And I always thought any time a trainer beats another he/she should get the chance to get the beaten team's Pokémon he/she wants in exchange for any sacrifical Pokémon in his/her Team. If the player wins VS a NPC he/she would be able to choose both the Pokémon he/she gets and the one he/she gives, if the player loses he/she will be able to choose what Pokémon he/she gives and would get a random one.
A while ago I bought a modded 3ds with a bunch of pokemon games installed on it since I was feeling pretty homesick and wanted to play older pokemon games I had previously sold. Now that I've completed a few of them, I want to bring some of the pokemon I got from the 3ds games onto pokemon home, but I need to use pokebank and connect my current switch account to the modded 3ds. Will this ban my account if I do this?
Generally the point of a boss fight in a video game is that, objectively speaking from a stats perspective, they are stronger than you but you defeat them with your superior skills. Superbosses just take that even further.
Older Pokemon games strayed away from giving enemies unique mechanics so for Red, they just gave him absurdly high levels. You had the option to simply just level grind to the point he has no advantage anymore and would basically become on par with an average route trainer to you but that would take ages compared to fighting him head on.
Then starting with Sun and Moon we've had boss specific mechanics introduced to the series. This opened the gates to us having super strong bosses like Ultra Necrozma or Volo having functionally 8 Pokemon with free stat boosts on his Giratina.
I thought it'd be a fun topic for us all to come up with more concepts for Pokemon superbosses. Whether silly or serious.
For example: Since the later Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games would have certain boss fights Mega Evolve when their health is low to function as a "turning red" phase many video game boss fights have, I could see a legendary Pokemon boss fight doing something like that. For example, what if there was a boss fight against Mewtwo where they could Mega Evolve into both of their X and Y forms mid battle, maybe with all of them having their own health bars to function as the equivalent of fighting a 3 Pokemon team. On the topic of Mega Evolution, I could also imagine a trainer super boss fight where their boss mechanic is being able to use the regional gimmick without any limitations (like in Mega Evolution's case, they could have a full party of six Mega Evolved mons).

Peobably one of the most simple question, yet i feel like npt many talk about it so i throw it out, what are ya'll favorite pokemon! For me personally it is Galvantula, it was like the first pokemon i had memorable actions and an absolutly blast playing with and i love its looks. So now, your turns!
The dialogue in the game may be really bad and annoying to read, but the story really surprised me and I’m wondering how many others share this reaction.
The main things that I’m impressed with are Team Star, the characters, and the revelation at the end of the game. They did finally do something different with the evil gang trope in Pokemon Sword and Shield, but it was really lame. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet however, they did the same thing and it worked. Instead of cartoony bad guys, you’ve got a bunch of teens who were bullied at school, and they formed Team Star to combat the bullying; this caused them to be expelled and then… tbh I don’t remember why Team Star is a bunch of bullies now. 😅
I just really like that Team Star is more down-to-earth (emphasis on more), than the gangs in previous games, and the drama is sorta engaging actually; the last part of that quest line is very wholesome and I loved it.
The revelation at the end of the game is effective, because you’re tricked into thinking “oh I see what’s happening… we’re going to have to save this person who’s trapped in another time… so predictable…” nope dude is just dead the whole time lol. Anyway it was a good twist, and everything that followed was really cool.
Finally, let’s talk about the characters. Most of the characters aren’t very memorable, but your friend group (Arven, Nemona, and Penny) and Director Clavell are very fun characters and have great chemistry with each other.
Why does encore have priority over faster pokemon if they gained speed during the move being encored. For example if my pokemon is slower, but is encored using dragon dance, when encore ends I should be faster, given that im 3x speed, but if they use encore again it goes before I do. Is this a bug within showdown or is it for balance reasons?
One of my favorite small YouTubers/streamers posted this video today about death in Pokémon. I found it really interesting because I’ve always played these games with rose colored glasses. I saw another video about the dark sides of some Pokémon, like Drifloon kidnapping children, etc etc. I’m wondering what dark themes you all have noticed in Pokémon games, and how they’ve changed your view on Pokémon as a whole.
Im not really that much of a pokemon person, having never played a pokemon game but everywhere i go now i keep hearing typhlosion allegations.
What this mfer doin bro 😭🙏
Is typhlosion smashin lil bro???
This mfer trynna get a "Cupcake" or smth???
Can somebody pls tell me what is goin on...
Its Anabel in my opinion.
She's so cool, but was forgotten so hard, she didn't even get a card in the TCG.
I'm curious if there are any other NPCs that have just been totally forgotten about and receive no love.
The only other NPCs that come to mind are maybe Zinia, Cheryl, and Riley. They sort of fill their roles in their own games and are never seen again.
Hi! When I was a young girl, I loved to collect trading cards and would put them in a huge collector’s binder. I never played w/ them and directly put them into the binder after opening. I believe I have cards between 2007-2009 from Pokémon, hundreds of them. I never used them so they’re just in my collector’s binder as well as some other cards from back in the day like Nintendogs, HSM, Hannah Montana, etc. Does anyone have advice where I can legitimately price these cards and sell them to a verified seller possibly? I’m worried about being scammed and having people underprice them and then overprice them to the next person they want to sell to. I know they have value but I’d like to take them to a trusted place where people go to purchase/collect cards. Located in the Los Angeles/Orange County area! Any advice is welcome 🙏🏻
I have seen a post on Twitter a few months back where which Pokemon should have been Legendary or not, so I thought of doing one, but for Mythicals instead. The first 2 questions about which Legendary should have been a Mythical Pokemon instead and vice versa, while the last 2 are about which regular Pokemon should have been be a Mythical Pokemon instead (or for those I can't think of an idea instead which ones deserve convergent forms that are Mythicals) and vice versa.
I will start.
First question, which Legendary Pokemon should have been reclassified as a Mythical Pokemon instead?
My only answer is Cressila because she barely looks like a Legendary Pokemon. Plus she will be able to contrast better with Darkari who is an actual Mythical Pokemon. The only other Legendary Pokemon I think would be a good contender for be a Mythical Pokemon is Calyerx because Galar only has Zarude which doesn't feel much like a Mythical at all.
Second question, which Mythical Pokemon should have been reclassified as Legendary Pokemon instead?
Two easy answers, Arceus and Volcanian. Why? Starting with Arceus, they have a Legends game to themselves, created the Sinnoh region (and possibly the Pokemon world), the Creation and Lake Trios, heck even producing eggs for them and is treated as the God of all Pokemon. As for Volcanian, the only reason why they made them a Mythical Pokemon in the first place is because of gift distributions and nothing else. Volcanian looks NOTHING like a Mythical Pokemon at all, doesn't look mystical (not all Mythicals have to be mystical, but they have to stay in lore and still in the mythological zone for them to stay as Mythical Pokemon), even if it had lore it will be about Legends and zero myths and it's designed to be a Legendary Pokemon, come on GameFreak. Volcanian is the only Kalosian Mythical I think should be reclassified as a Legendary Pokemon especially due to a lacking number of Legendary Pokemon in Kalos outside of the Aura Trio. Diancie and Hoopa at least have reasons why they get to be Mythical Pokemon, Volcanian on the other hand, not at all, not even one. I can understand why Arecus was made to be a Mythical Pokemon though I wish it got a Legendary Pokemon status instead, whereas Volcanian I can't understand why it should be a Mythical Pokemon.
Third question, which regular Pokemon should have been a Mythical Pokemon instead?
I don't know, probably the most complicated of them all for me to answer. Maybe Goldengo and Gimmighoul or Rotom. It would be easier if there's a convergent form for those said Pokemon or the Zoroark or Lucario lines where they are Mythicals.
Final question, which Mythical Pokemon should have been a regular Pokemon instead?
Zarude is the only correct answer. While it's design looks cool enough, it doesn't look mystical enough (I mentioned before not all Mythicals have to be mystical as long as they have enough lore for them to be Mythicals, Zarude doesn't fit in that bill). The idea of Mythical Pokemon living in groups of the same species from one of its Pokedex entries sounds really awesome for a Mythical Pokemon, but how it was executed for Zarude is lackluster and would definitely work better on Celebi, Shaymin or Victini instead. Like Volcanian, it was only a Mythical for the sake of event distributions and nothing else. Zarude is the one it should have been just reclassified as a rare Pokemon instead, heck even as a single stage Pesudo Legendary since the number 1 rule for a Pesudo Legendary is they have to have a BST of 600 if fully evolved or single stage before Mega evolving.
That's all I got, what do you all think of all of this? Which ones do you agree with? Which ones do you have a different answer for, please let me know and I will respect your opinion.
I know there are multiple issues with the NPCs (always having full health pokemon, having only a few Pokemon, etc) but does anyone wonder where they all live? There are way more characters than houses and they seem local to the region. The main character’s town seems like the only “small town” in most games without a pokemon center or gym.
***IT WONT LET ME EDIT THE TITLE I NEED HELP WITH CARDS
Hi all,
I’m a Mom(30f) who’s kiddo(5m) is showing a ton of interest in Pokémon cards. He has ASD as well as severe ADHD. When he decides he likes something, it’s all consuming for him. Why am I posting here? I know absolutely nothing about Pokémon. But since it’s something my son is so into, I need to learn quick. Please explain to me exactly what I need to get in order to start playing the card game. I’m gonna hit up YouTube to learn the actual game, so if you know of anyone I’d love your recommendations! Dad and I will be getting our own decks and learning for a little bit so we can teach him, and eventually all play (hoping to convince his neuro-normative twin sister to give it a shot, but we’ll see on that one lol).
I hope this is the right place to post! Thank you!
Hi there! I’m trying to come up with a flight attendant themed Pokemon team without using any legendary or mythical Pokemon. Here’s some of my ideas any why:
Abra - Inspired by teleport.
Indeedee - “These Pokémon willingly serve people and other Pokémon, as they derive energy from feelings of gratitude.”
Snorlax - always tired
Emolga - high energy, cute, flying type.
Corviknight - the steel typing reminds me of airplanes and of course for its use as air transportation.
Altaria - flying type, elegant, cloud imagery.
Drifblim - transport of people (too dark though?)
Let me know your thoughts and if you have other suggestions. Thank you!
edit: Vivillon?? edit: watchdog??
The SS Anne is supposed to sail the globe each year and make a stop in Kanto every year and in theory also stop in other regions. Have other games mentioned this SS Anne? I’d love to see an SS Anne game or some reference to the ship in other regions. Seems like a good way to add connectivity between games or being back an ode to previous generations.
What if Phione can evolve into Manaphy, like it should have been? If Phione actually evolved into Manaphy, I would have liked Phione a lot more. This would have make the Pokemon more unique, after all I think Mythical Pokemon that are capable of evolcing are atill Mythical Pokemon as long as they're strong enough (minimum of 300 BST for an unevolved Mythical Pokemon that is a part of a 3-stage evolutionary line, a minimum of 450 BST for an unevolved Mythical Pokemon that is apart of a 2-stage evolutionary line and a middle stage Mythical Pokemon and a BST of 600 minimum for a single stage Mythical Pokemon and a final stage of both a 2 and 3 stage Mythical evolutionary line), have the lore and have a myth and mysterious vibe going on surrounding them, sometimes even reaching to the point that they're treated like important figures or gods.. What evolution methods would they have if Phione was able to evolve into Manaphy?
I thought of 2 ideas.
The first idea is for Phione to evolve by via high friendship. Bit of a chore I know, but Manaphy's Pokedex entries say that it befriends almost every single Pokemon whenever it goes and both of Manaphy's signature moves involve around the heart, Heart Swap and Take Heart. If you earned enough friendship points with Phione, it will evolve into Manaphy.
Alternatively, Phione could instead evolve into Manaphy by via levelling up while learning a strong Water-Type move like Hydro Pump or whatever is Phione's current strongest Water-Type move. Less of a chore than high friendship, but you have to level it up a lot.
Which evolution method you is better for Phione evolving into Manaphy, high friendship or levelling up while learning a strong Water-Type move?
I like to hear your thoughts about this. I know Meltan is currently the only Mythical Pokemon that is capable of evolution, but only in Pokemon Go and not in the main series games (for Meltan's evolution into Melmetal in the mainline games, it needs to get to Level 24 while learning the move Thunder Punch, that's it)
We all know that Phione and Manaphy are able to breed, but currently only with Ditto, which sucks. They're under the Water 1 and Fairy egg groups. To me, Mythical Pokemon that are able to breed is a unique trait that separates them from some of the other Mythical Pokemon which are unable to breed like Arceus (even though they have created eggs for the Creation and Lake Trios, they can't breed themselves), Magearna and modren-day Genesect (ancient Genesect would have most likely be under the Bug Egg Group). The breeding and population numbers don't matter for a Mythical Pokemon. What matters more is the myths and mysteries around them like how are they able to produce so many of their kind yet only very lucky people only got see 1 or a few of that species max.
Which egg groups would each of the Mythical Pokemon belong under is they're able to breed?
Remain be unable to breed: Dexoys, Arceus, Genesect (ancient Genesect could breed, but not its modren day counterparts), Volcanian and Magearna. I'm debating on if Pecharunt should be able to breed or not.
Mew will have its own Egg Group called the Mew Egg Group that serves the same purpose as the Ditto Egg Group, only difference is Mew is also able to breed with Pokemon under the Field and Fairy Egg Groups.
As for the other Mythical Pokemon under which egg group.
Amorphous: Darkari, Hoopa, Marshadow and the Melmetal line
Bug: Prehistoric Genesect
Fairy: Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Phione, Manaphy (both already confirmed canon), Victini, Meloetta and Diancie
Field: Mew, Shaymin, Victini, Zerarora and Zarude
Grass: Celebi, Shaymin and Zarude
Human-Like: Meloetta
Mineral: Diancie
Monster: Hoopa
Water 1: Phione and Manaphy (confirmed canon, wished they breed with those Pokemon though and have their gender ratios discovered as 50/50)
There are none under the Dragon (due to having no Dragon-Type Mythical Pokemon yet), Flying (due to a lack of Flying-Type Mythicals), Water 2 and Water 3 Egg Groups.
That's what I can come up with when it comes to Mythical Pokemon that are able to breed, if more Mythical Pokemon are suddenly able to breed. As long as they keep the myths and mysteries surrounding the Mythical, this will still make them good Mythical Pokemon, at least for the most part. Also, some Mythical Pokemon are meant to be more abundant and common than others like Phione and Manaphy (which should have been a part of the same evolution line as each other), Meltan and to an extent, Melmetal, Zarude, Celebi and to an extent, Diancie, Meloetta and Victini.
Speaking of Diancie, it would be cool to see Diancies be able to breed and produce Carbinks that have a higher chance of mutating into Diancies with very rare chances of seeing younger Diancies be born from Diancies.
Some would have restrictions when they're able to breed like Jirachis be only able to breed like once every 500 years or Darkaris be only able to breed 1 baby for its lifetime, making those Mythical Pokemon rarer to find, while others have very little to no restrictions whatsoever. And there are of course the Mythicals that are unable to breed that will be so rare to the point that you only see one and that's it, like you can only see 1 Arecus or only 1 Volcanian.
All of this is in my headcanon, please take this as a grain of salt and respect my opinions.
What do you all think? I like to see your opinions about this breeding chart for the Mythical Pokemon? Is there any you want change around.
I reported a Pokemon Silver Cartridge for being a counterfeit. It wasn't decleared as reproduction, and this british seller just wanted something like casual 70€ for this. Ebay responded to me and said, this is within their terms of use.
I think this really is a terrible way of conducting business, and I really wish it wasn't such a hassle to double and tripple check just to buy old, popular games. Rant over :D
So I was in the Grand underground And I saw a munchlax so I thought why don't I catch it it's rare and this is for my brother anyway so I answer battle and uses flail first turn then SELF DESTRUCT on the second turn I am so mad. Why does it learn it by level up?! Nintendo do this on purpose I swear!
I recently started a new nuzlocke playthrough of HeartGold, and I'm really hoping I can get a Heracross for my Route 42 encounter. So I've been trying to make sure I'm not barking up the wrong trees (pun intended). Bulbapedia has a guide on how to figure out which tree is which, but I don't know how to get the TreeID it mentions.
Any help would be awesome
Iv been playing Pokemon bule and it's just not fun all you do is grind for hours and look up a guide on what to do next because shitty game design I don't have a way to play anything other then up to gen 3 and want to play a pokemon game like I did as a kid
Pokemon come in different shapes and sizes, but also have different types of Pokedex entries.
But for you, out of YOUR personal experience, which Pokemon’s Dex entries scared or traumatized you?
Kabutop‘s Let’s Go Pikachu entry was talking about it, slicing its victims into pieces. Reading that, made me very shaken and a little bit panicked.
Besides that, there’s not many, who have shaken me like that one did.
I dont get why people hate Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour, alongside Simisear, Simisage, and Simipour,
The only ones i see noteworthy of hating are Pampur and Simipour for how they are designed, but bedsides that, why?? I think they were cute and i loved them when i was a kid so im so confused around the hate
TL;DR: I’m getting back into sword and I want good grass and good fire type recommendations.
I’ve was a pokemon fan since the early 2000s. My peak was HG/SS, where I had close to 1,000 hours. I haven’t played the games since I beat X/Y.
Recently I got back into them and I’ve been on Pokémon Sword. I’m looking for good fire and grass types for the main game, not ready for the competitive scene because it’s so different now.
I just got to Stow on the Side. Right now I have Inteleon, pikachu (nostalgia), diggersby, corvisquire, Vulpix, and Eldegloss.
I also have a gloom (oddish/vileplume has been a personal favorite of mine), applin, and a roselia in the box.
Any good recommendations for grass or fire types to replace? I plan on adding a dragon type and whatever the exclusive legendary is for this game later on.
Some that I think are great names:
Mareep taken from ‘Mary had a little lamb’ and ‘sheep’, and ALSO being an anagram of ampere.
Skeledirge taken from obviously ‘skeleton’ but also ‘dirge’, meaning a mournful song, linking to its signature move.
Elgyem sounding like the acronym ‘LGM’, meaning ‘Little Green Men’ referring to aliens.
And finally Sudowoodo sounding like ‘pseudo’ ‘wood’, meaning fake wood, explaining its rock type.
First of all, please don't assume that I know even a little bit about pokemon emerland, most of my pokemon experience is with Red/Blue/Yellow and Shield, and I restarted those several times because I had a bad team that I didn't know how to use correctly. I know that Pokemon is easy for most people, but I almost always struggle with it. Please help me not struggle with this game.
I'm thinking 3 or 4 characters that I use in battle, all of which I hope I can get by the halfway mark with minimal grinding and 2 or 3 hm slaves as they're called.
Please, help me if you're willing, people repeatedly telling me "it's super easy" has just made me feel really stupid, and kept me from playing most of the series.
We're 4 badges in and we both have a few good 'Mons on our team (probably 3 good ones each).
What are some good, maybe more forgotten about Pokemon hanging out in the second act of the game (badges 5-12). I had my eye on making a Porygon Z late game, but what are some other recommendations?
