Dedicated to the man, the myth, the legend Rurouni Kenshin. This is the story of a wanderer named Himura Kenshin, formerly known as the assassin "Hitokiri Battōsai" (Battōsai the Manslayer). After participating in the Bakumatsu war, Kenshin wanders the countryside of Japan offering protection and aid to those in need as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin.

Just wanted to make a post saying i just finshed the manga for the first time, and i loved it! kenshin, the side characters and antagonists are all great, some great fights and a way better story than i expected. as a big fan of gintama kenshin reminds me of gintoki in some ways maybe another reason i really liked him. kenshin the character is a top 10 mc for me and the series is also in my top 10 so I'm now officially a fan :)

Hello, sorry if this has been asked before. But will the remake of the anime get a blu ray release? I can’t seem to find any information on it.
Better than how she is in the 1996 anime? If so, why?
Essentially the title: In episode 42, season 3, there is a song that plays when Jinpu fights the head of the water/wind family. I've heard it before, but I forgot when and where it played. I've tried searching online but it doesn't seem like it's there either. If anyone knows, I'd depply appreciate it. Thank you.
Hi all,
Have you got a link to download betrayal and Trust Movie in dub English?
Even better in French dub?
Can anyone share the episode where this was said?
Belated birthday present from my husband! Since I wear an Apple Watch daily, this is going to be reserved for special occasions. Until then, into the display it goes.
Does anyone know about them? Has Watsuki ever given any information about who Kenshin's parents were or what they were like with him? After so many years, I can't believe Watsuki just forgot about it 😔
Just curious ^^ have a good day!
How do I watch the 1996 anime in Australia please help!
I confess that I'm not a big fan of this new adaptation. I'm always in doubt whether Liden Films is really doing a good job or just nostalgia is blinding my negative view of the show. The final eps of the last season disappointed me a lot, because let's face it, the whole part of the story from saito is much better in the old version.
The only eps that really pleased me and that were definitely better than the old one were:
1-season
ep 2 ep 4 Ep 5 Ep 7 ep 11
2 season
Ep 4
I was browsing Pinterest, looking at some Rurouni Kenshin art, when I came across this concept art from the Rurouni Kenshin remake, which is probably from the first season. I found it funny that Kenshin is making all the goofy facial expressions we saw in the classic manga and anime 90s. In the first season of the remake, he didn’t use even half of those expressions, since the first director had removed about 80% of the humor from the manga to make the remake more serious. Looking at this concept art, I wonder if they were originally planning to stick closer to the manga instead of doing their own thing, or if it was just made to promote the remake.
I love rurouni Kenshin, started it bc i thought it was similar to Inuyasha. Well I had gotten this "spoiler" that Kenshin proposed to kuaru in EP 66 and I had binge watched up until that point. I watched EP 66 and I'm still devastated. If I was her I would have walked away and sobbed somewhere far away and private. I would have felt humiliated, played, and upset. Maybe I'm petty but her even looking at him after that let alone accepting flowers from him is mature. I could never. I know it's not his fault bc he didn't know but I don't think she knows that he didn't know; if u get what I mean. google you are my worst enemy. I'll continue the show after I'm done throwing my fit lol
Hi guys hope you’re well. I’ve been blind reading the original series and it’s been pretty great so far but I think I’ve missed something during the Kyoto arc. The first page of this chapter (Official Viz translation) essentially says that Saitō has his hands busy with arranging temporary cells for THE 4000 captured criminals. I’m guessing all of these criminals were listed as the aftermath of the attempted Kyoto arson. My question is where did this figure of 4000 come from? I thought that night the police force outmatched Shishio’s men 10:1 (5000:500). I’m not surprised that Shishio has more than 500 men under him, because he obviously had some with him on the ship. But where has this other 3000 or so come from? What on Earth where they doing that night? And if they weren’t part of the arson how did they get captured? Is my reading comprehension THAT ass? Appreciate the help 👍
Takes it to another level. This connecting scene that shows the aftermath of Saito's signature Gatotsu is fucking brutal. You can see where the henchman's teeth fell out. I also appreciate how they balanced this brutality with Saito's quirky personality. The unlikely alliance between Kenshin and Saito is one of my favorite character relationships in the show. Their rivalry is so entertaining, especially in the later part of the manga. I also like how it was written in the Hokkaido arc. The comedic aspects of it are so well played in this remake. The snappy pacing and camera angles are making for some excellent build up. The rewriting of some of these characters is excellent.
Let me make a couple of things clear, 1. Since the source material for both is the manga I do not expect the remake to match the '96 Anime
That said, I wish that rather than just bringing the manga to screen essentially as is, or as close to it as they could get, they would have taken the time to make creative changes to improve and build upon the source material. There are characters who deserved far better than what the manga gave them to work with, there are story threads that are touched up on but never explored. There are scenes and situations that could've been vastly improved with even minor tweaks.
But no... For better or worse, this is as straight of a manga adaptation as you could get, 0 creativity, 0 building on that foundation, just set up the foundation in a new place, as is...
I would choose Kenshin not only because he is hot and muscular but also a great samurai.
