I want to read berserk manga but I watched 1997 anime should I skip chapters that are in anime or should I start from beggining

I honestly can’t think of anything. But if I had to make a theory, I think the armour will take over Guts’s body and he’ll probably kill Griffith and hurt the people around him. I’m not too creative so I want to hear your theories.

If I was crippled THAT bad, had no hope of ever doing anything besides slowly dying, I'd accept the godhand shit. It makes it clear that griffith could use his powers during the eclipse to manipulate reality and with the crazy powers the godhand has I could probably pull everyone back to life anyway, I mean I wouldn't rape my friends girl in front of him but I'd probably take the powers and find a way to play the rest of the godhand

So we've seen the original God Hand Femto that was in Black swordsman and Golden age show up when Ganishka was killed, meaning that that form of Griffith is still very much a part of him despite being "reincarnated". So that begs the question of what he's going to do with Falconia. From a "Human" standpoint, falconia is everything that Griffith dreamed about (on steroids) but from a God hand perspective, falconia is an opportunity to recreate the sacrifice of Gaisseric's capital (especially since falconia is literally just that) but the sacrifice being the majority of the human population since the rest of the world is threatened by the creatures unleashed by Griffith. These two go directly against each other but they make sense on their own. Maybe the God Hand see that Griffith is troubled by this and would betray him to sacrifice all of humanity? Or perhaps it is Griffith's choice at the end of the day? What do you guys think (there are probably no right answers for now but it is an interesting thought)

I know it changes in the future but seeing this helmet just makes me laugh because it seems so useless. Im just kinda curious to if this is based on something in history or purely for aesthetic purposes?

Griffith, I think, is the world's most successful and prime example of an abusive manipulator.
Sometimes he's kind and gentle when it suits him to control others, but he also uses brutal force to do the same. The most glaring example is his duel with Guts, where he couldn't let Guts go away on goodwill; no, he thoughtlessly almost ended his most deep relationship to maintain his absolute authority and position over others.

And then the eclipse is the ultimate ascension of Griffith as a god by using violence and terror to mark himself in the mind of the one who denied him. And that's how you truly become a god: By warping the minds, perceptions, and even reality itself of others, like he did with Casca and guts, leaving the literal brand of sacrifice, a symbol of how deep he has warped guts and Casca, and thus conditioning their lives in every way. He went on to do this with everyone, with his charisma with the members of the new Band of the Hawk, using his godlike powers to make the physical world into fantasia. He just keeps manipulating everyone, not only their minds but their very reality, becoming an idol, an object of total worship, by using fear, gentleness, charisma, skills, violence, and any other method.

So, the only ending for him is this: Guts strikes him down, and he is killed, but when he does it, he's completely unemotional, beyond maybe some pity or disgust. Griffith is not a person anymore to him, but a problem to solve, and when he is solved, guts will look at him with no sympathy or any vestiges of the emotions he made guts feel—just a total kill that evokes that guts has gotten over all of this and just wants it to be done so he can move on with his life. Then guts walks away, leaving Griffith to die in some kind of obscure, empty, and eventless place, like a dark prison, a symbol of how he's fading away into obscurity in the minds of others, with his grip on them finally being broken.

I don't know how to make that happen cohesively into the already written history, but I truly believe Griffith not only needs to die, because he's just fucking the world too much, even putting aside what he did to Guts, Casca, and the Band of the Hawk, but it also needs to be in a way that leaves Griffith in his rightful place as the brainwasher and bringer of trauma he is: to be forgotten, and thus his status as a god destroyed not only materially but psychologically.

So yeah, that's how I would envision the ultimate fate of Griffith. And I think it would be even better if Griffith, when faced with his morality, realized all of it himself—all the things he did to ascend to godhood, all the hurt he put on the people he loved—and finally faced death with some dignity, accepting his fate. That would make Griffith have some introspection and thus sympathy and make him the tale of a man who wanted a kingdom where he was loved and admired and went to extreme lengths to do it, regretting that he threw away the love he already had for power and control.

As someone who never had berserk spoiled for them I can't explain how good every chapter felt Never felt so much connection to a world / characters like I did reading these chapters Truly peak fiction

Is the berserk game worth any while ? That they have on the PlayStation store

I don't know what kind of plot this is called or if it even has a name but this doesn't just apply to berserk. Although berserk is one of my favorite examples of this, other examples include dark souls and bloodborne. There is just something so narratively interesting to me about being dropped in a world far gone from its golden age. Can anyone else relate or tell me what makes plots like this so interesting?

To be fair aside from Gunbeld, the other apostles on Griffith side are very interesting characters that I wish they got further in depth as to who they are and some back story.

I finally got to the Eclipse! Sadly i only bought volume 12, so I'll have to buy 13 Monday i guess. I can't complain yall had to wait longer especially for some of these episodes. 🤷‍♂️ We'll I'm so glad Griffith said no to the sacrifice and the Band of the Hawk was able to live together peacefully for the rest of their natural lives. Not!

Well anyways i decided to write Down my reaction to each of the chapters in this volume. So if you're interested in seeing how a newbie reacted to reading the first part of the Eclipse; here you go! Hope you enjoy!

Requiem of The Wind: Damn you really feel for the Hawks. To endure all they had and to keep going on the hopes that Griffith would lead them. Now this. . .

The Warriors of Twilight: It looks like the Band of the Hawk is going to split. Into Judea's Band of Thieves and Guts' mercenary group. Should be interesting going forward. Also at the end, as Griffith finally realizes why Guts really left. "Why do I always see these things after they're done and gone?" Man I really feel bad for Griffith. He realizes that Guts just wanted to be his friend and equal. 😔

Back Alley Boy: Griffith's dream. This is such a sad episode. Griffith literally tried to kill himself 😢 Dude is having such a bad time. But he found the Behelit! Is it bad that I'm kinda rooting for him? In my defense, he has gone through so much. I don't care if he joins the Godhand. Dude deserves a win at this point.

The Eclipse: And so it starts. The visuals are insane! Griffith trying so hard to tell Guts to stay away, like he doesn't want Guts to get caught up in this. It's so gutwrenching. And the picture of the Behelit. It's so horrifically beautiful. This is gonna be good!

The Promised Time: We see Puck again! It's been awhile. The fortune teller bit is pretty ominous. Also I'm glad Rickerd isn't gonna get caught up in whatever it's about to happen. Those faces in the ground are freaking crazy.

The Advent: I love each of the Godhand's introductions. They're so otherworldly. Also Guts' face when they say sacrifice lmao. He is shook.

The Inhuman Host: Gotdamn

The Castle: they really manipulating Griffith here. Griffith has always cared about the dead. He can't stop or the deaths would be meaningless. Damn Griffith, go get your dream 💯

Parting: So that's how he got the Brand. Also about that last page; Holy Shit that's terrifying.

Feast: Wow.

You're shitting me! That's the end of the volume!?! Guess I'll have to wait till the store opens on Monday to finish the Eclipse. It's so damn good so far ❤️
