PG studio Netero (vs Meruem but he is yet to release)
When nen is first discussed it’s stated that the most influential people on the planet have some sort of nen affinity. I thought it would be fun to think if nen really existed who would have it. Here’s a list of a couple people who I think would have it:
The genius minds (thinkers far ahead of their time): Newton, Einstein, Darwin, Tesla, Aristotle, and Da Vinci.
Warriors and generals (displaying inhuman levels of power or strategy): Alexander, napoleon, Jon Jones, GSP, Genghis khan, Hannibal Barca, Caesar, Sun Tzu, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Achilles, Joan of arc and Leonidas
World Leaders (The most influential people in the political sphere): Hitler, Stalin, Churchill, JFK, Pope Francis, Lincoln, MLK, Gandhi, Mother Teresa and George Washington.
War Heroes (feats of unprecedented strength in the face of war and cruelty) : Desmond Doss, Chris Kyle, Simo Häyhä, Harry Truman and Malcolm Forbes
Rich (Hunters are usually really rich): Musk, Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg, Buffet and Bloomberg.
Lebron: he’s averaging 25 at almost 40
Anyone you guys would add to the list?

Just wanted to talk about how great togashi is at writing a variety of characters. None of the side characters feel like side characters they’re all so engaging aswell. Especially compared to shows like dragon ball which I love that manga but tien for example is completely useless as a character nowadays.
I'm getting very hyped for the future of hxh. Remember when we were all scared it would end abruptly. Now togashi is posting frequently and we are getting alot of chapters. The story is also finally advancing to (I think) the endgame of the succession arc. And after this we are going to have the much anticipated (hopefully peak) dark continent arc. Let's just hope this pace keeps going into the future.
It seems people are split between believing that Tserriednich's Parallel Future ability is either (1) caused by his 2nd nen beast or (2) his own nen ability. I believe it's his own nen ability because despite the viewpoint for his ephemeral ten seconds being from the position of his 2nd Nen Beast at the time of activation of zetsu, Tserriednich could maintain Zetsu and look past the 10 original ephemeral seconds. Knowing that nen beasts are deactivated with zetsu, how do people that believe (1) explain this phenomenon?
2nd question: IF the parallel future ability is the ability of his nen beast that he conjured up unconciously, can Tserriednich develop another nen ability? If I'm not mistaken, there's no limit for the nen abilities one can have. So then- if, or once Tserriednich masters his Parallel Future ability with his Zetsu, can he move on to another nen ability? With Tserriednich's talent and potential, could he potentially have tens if not hundreds of nen abilities if he survives this arc and ends up living a long life?
Unrelated but here's some pictures of Tserriednich's nen which is just pure eye candy
In recent chapters, chrollo revealed that he can unlock a new page of his book if he steals the kakin artifacts. This makes me feel like chrollo does not care at all about training, the only way he can see himself stronger is by completing a hard task
As we know, chrollo is a floor master at heavens arena. Why would someone who plans on being a hitman and criminal advertise themselves in this way? I believe it’s because he unlocked/ learned nen at the tower, then when he became a floor master, he met his own condition and unlocked the book.
Furthermore, chrollo conveniently revealed his bookmark ability after the york new city heist. I believe he unlocked the bookmark from the heist, and he plans to repeat it with the kakin treasure
Dont feel like going overboard, just wanted to get my initial thought out. Lmk what yall think about my prediction (tho ig this is a reverse prediction) or what u think chrollos upgrade will be
I love the cast of characters in the latest chapters. However, the Mater is my fave. The interview was crazy. Had to make this after I caught up. Have a good day!
This is Togashi’s raw note that was used as the basis for the 2022 nen charts. You’ll notice that the specialist nen users are not connected to the hexagon via a line, unlike all the other nen users.
Based on what we know now, this makes sense. It seems that specialists don’t “place” anywhere on the chart, which has fun implications.
Sorry if this has been asked before.
Sometimes the characters mention how nen can't exceed what a human is capable of, like when Kurapika is told a conjurer can't make an indestructible object because it exceeds human capability. What is the human capability in HunterXHunter and does it matter that you normally can't exceed it? We see Gon a child with no nen and no training shatter the world record for how fast someone can run 50 miles. If that is base level for people in the verse what is the human capability? I don't fully mean how powerful can someone get without nen, as aura and a person arent separable, but human capability has already been exceeded, so what is this human capability that can't be exceeded?
Anybody else notice Cheadle calling Halkenberg the 7th prince when he’s actually the 9th?
The reason why the Troupe stole the auction goods was for Chrollo to upgrade Skill Hunter. Them being able to sell it off later was just a bonus. The upgrade to Skill Hunter was actually the bookmark ability.
Now you might think, that's a long ass time when they stole the auction goods and the time he fought Hisoka. I propose that he wasn't able to upgrade it then bcs of Pika's nen chain. Once it was exorcised he upgraded Skill Hunter, stole abilities that uses two hands and THEN fought Hisoka. Remember there was like a year gap when he ran away from Hisoka to prepare.
Greed Island Arc took like a couple of months and the time between it and Yorknew wasn't really a lot. Chrollo might've even went to Heaven's Arena from time to time to use Love Dial to find suitable abilities with use of 2 hands and to get practice. He could've easily pulled this off since he was a newly appointed Floor Master during his deathmatch with Hisoka.
Just speculation in the end. What do you guys think?
Edit: As I am just finishing this now it dawned on me that the creation of Skill Hunter in the first place might be related to Sheila's death at the hands of the Kurta Clan (not a subscriber to Pariston = Sheila). The troupe may have found out she was killed and got revenge. Then Chrollo used D. Hunter as a catalyst and transformed it to Skill Hunter. And what is Meteor City's motto? "We'll accept anything you leave here but don't ever take anything from us." ergo Chrollo was so pissed that he developed an ability to take other people's ability.
We don't know much about the entity guarding the threshold of the dark continent. It's hinted that it grants passage under certain conditions, and that the motive of the expedition corp is taken into account. It is a two way sentinel, preventing people for coming back, or at least forcing them to bring a calamity back to the mainland.
But how could a single guardian defend all the border of the dark continent ? On the only visual of the entrance we see that a wall seems to circle around it, and a massive door leading to the land. So I'm wondering, is the entirety of the dc protected by this wall with a few entry points defended each by a gatekeeper? Because we know that several expeditions landed in different areas. There must be some kind of test in order to cross the treshold, like the one to enter the Zoldyck domain but in a much more brutal way.
Do you guys have any theories on this gatekeeper, or the conditions for it to let the expedition pass through? I bet Don Freecs is too busy writing his second atlas to play bouncer but who knows
I used to think they are the same thing but it appears so not. So, specialists can learn other nen abilities(enhancement, emission etc...) but the same is not applicable for other nen categories?
But then, doesn't it just make the specialists too OP?
I’m really tired of people underestimating hisoka. He is on par with chrollo if not superior to him in combat. Sure he lost the fight but it was pretty obviously rigged towards chrollo and hisoka was overconfident not outskilled.
No member of the phantom troupe could win one on one with hisoka. I could see a case for feitan but I think if hisoka was serious he’d kill him before he has the chance to back up and activate his mega fart ball.
As for hisokas match ups against others in the series like Silva,Zeno,or Merel I think, aside from the top echelon of power like netero or Pitou,no one has odds against him above 50%.
Also he gets a 200% power boost from being almost a main character and a 50% “I want to kill the spiders” boost like kurapika.
Looking at the basic nen skills, everything looks pretty standard and reinforces the idea that Enhancement is in some ways the most basic and foundational nen type. All of the nen skills relate to Enhancement or otherwise seem like pretty basic actions to intuit.
But In seems different. Turning your aura invisible doesn’t seem like something anyone could just land on in the course of basic training.
It’s almost like a Transmuter skill, but doesn’t require any special training with the concept of “invisibility.” Should other nen types have similarly universally accessible techniques?
Zetsu makes sense as a basic stealth skill since you’re just keeping your aura inside of yourself, but In seems different to me.
What are your thoughts?
I think Chrollo is eventually going to fight Hisoka and die in a close fight, leaving Hisoka weakened forever. However, just like Hisoka did before dying, Chrollo is gonna make a nen pact to « release » his aura as he realises death is coming (just like Hisoka did).
That being said, his nen pact won’t save him by reviving him through his aura. No, instead his aura is gonna split and transfer to all the remaining founding members of the spiders (Machi, Feitan, Phinks, etc.).
Empowered by post mortem nen, they will have a much easier time facing Hisoka and will end up finishing him. I think it makes sense story wise and concludes pretty well the Hisoka vs Spider story
Personally I think she's one of the stronger spiders, and her ability could be really cool to see in action. We've never got a proper fight with her. Now besides that, Hisoka and her have had multiple scenes together and I feel like with the spider killing campaign he's on he would eventually get to Machi, and it's a fight I'm really excited for. She's the only one besides chrollo who has any form of "relationship" with Hisoka. (Not counting Illumi). Again her ability would be really cool to see in action.
Could include things up to the lastest chapter(409)
Mine(craziest one I've seen someone post): Hisoka could defeat Youpi
Mirroring her Skill Hunter photo we see she has 3 similar physical features:
Big circular black pupils
Thin flat eyebrows
Black hair with frilly bangs and one distinctive bunch of hair
Since Chrollo has her ability she might have been like Neon and just formed the ability without formal or Hunter training/teaching. Morena's Contagion could be an easy way to get another ability if she has the same ideology.
She asked me to post this since she doesnt have reddit :) Her insta is cix2_maragno
Do you think borksen will be able to convince Morena to go just just target the kakin goverment and it's evils instead of targeting all of humanity ?
They seem to be cute together so It would be sad if It ends in tragedy.
