Well, the trade deadline passed and all we got was... the release of Albert O.
Meanwhile, almost every contender and 75% of current division leaders made some sort of notable move to solidify their position.
- 8-0 Chiefs acquired Nuk and Uche
- 7-1 Lions acquire Za'Darius Smith
- 7-2 Bills acquire Amari Cooper
- 7-2 Commanders pick up Marshon Lattimore
- 6-2 Steelers pick up Mike Williams and Preston Smith
- 6-3 Ravens pick up Tre'Davious White and Deonte Johnson
- 6-2 Vikings pick up Cam Akers and Cam Robinson
- 5-4 Cardinals acquire Baron Browning
- 4-4 Niners pick up DT depth
Wonder if we tried to do something but got out competed or if Howie got scared off by his previous trade deadline failures or if we really do feel good about who we got. But it's a little disappointing we weren't able to shore up either line or our running back room.
My rankings are
HM: smitty, Hurts, Baun
Normally I wouldn’t ever buy anything like this, but it’s such an iconic moment I figured it’s nice to have.
The way i look at it. I think the eagles are a momentum team. And we have been for a long time. When they get hot, they get red hot. And when they get cold, its icy in philly. Nicks not a conservative coach and i dont think the eagles are a conservative team. When we have chippy conservative games. They are 50/50 for us it feels like it makes us actually lose those games more.. the eagles are best when we are taking chances and using our superior skill to make the game flow in our direction and when that starts happening we start rolling.. i think nick has realized this motivation key for his team. You take those chances, because u dont feel as bad about missing them as u do feel good about making them. And the momentum shift in the teams favor is worth it if u get it. And making those plays seriously hurts the momentum of other teams. Eagles are not good when we're just going hack and forth making conservative plays.. we arent Tom Brady and Bill Belichecks team, its in the name! Were the EAGLES we fly, we dont walk or run.. and if u dont want us to fly over u, u better clip our wings baby! LETS GO BIRDS.. we can pull this off because i believe we are the most physically talented team out there! I say take out the dumb conservative play calling and make these other squads out man us! THEY CANT
Yes, on Sunday we nearly lost on a game that 8 additional points would have made all the difference. But..
The misses are painful, and overall this season I think it's made games closer than necessary. However, this team's mentality is to finish the game with the ball in their hands, and for the head-scratching decision making he's done, he wouldn't have committed any of those errors listed above. There's a reason we've consistently been one of the best team's in the league since he took over.
He has a QBR of 65, 2022 he had a QBR of 68. A QBR of 65 is higher than Baker, Love, Stroud, and Jared Goffs QBR this season.
All I heard this off season was how Stroud and Love were better than Jalen bc Stroud and Love played half a season of good football while Jalen’s defense shit the bed weeks 11-18 and the eagles team sucked.
Is QBR a perfect, end all stat? No. Is Jalen a perfect QB? No. Has our schedule as of late been more than ideal? Yes. But all I’m saying is that through half a season of football, Jalen has shown that he’s closer to a Lamar/Allen/Burrow tier than he is the Goff/Stroud/Love tier.
Also, stats aside, no one has a prettier deep ball 😂
