If I remember correctly, Stone Cold Za came to Detroit to be a contender and bring it to the Packers. He’s about to FTP and pull a stunning defensive player of the week game.
I can't remember the last time that one of the teams, the Lions are competing with for division winner or number one seed including the Vikings, Packers and Eagles, lost a game other than to the Lions. With all the injury issues, can the Lions catch a break, and get some help on this front please?
Disclaimer: I am not a health expert and this is conjecture
I don't think injuries are completely random. Having this number of injuries especially some freak injuries like the broken bones might have something to do with the team itself.
I think the potential culprits are:
Coaching: Are the guys being run into the ground? Too much hard contact? Do they get enough rest? Maybe MCDC or Glenn are the Tom Thibideou of the NFL.
Strength and Conditioning: Are the coaches in the weight room pushing the guys too hard or choosing the wrong programs?
Nutritionists: The broken bone injuries seem bizarre because neither seemed to be a result of a big hit to those areas, especially Hutch's leg snapping. Are these guys bones weaker than normal? Maybe the players aren't getting the supplements and dietary nutrition that's important to staying healthy.
Rehab: In a long season with sorry turn arounds, rehabbing after practices and games is important. Making sure small injuries don't linger or cause bigger issues is important. Guys like Sam seem to be taking a long time to get over their injuries.
Kitchen: This is related to nutritionists but are the kitchen and back office staff ordering the right food for players to keep them healthy and strong. Poor diet can lead to nutritional deficiencies which manifest as injuries.
Fields: Is Ford Field and the practice facility have the wrong kind of turf which is putting strain on players' bodies? What equipment is being used at practices. Is any of it causing players to be at higher risk to certain injuries?
I have no idea who is at fault, if anyone,...but it's most likely a combination of many factors including luck that lead to players getting injured.
Some teams manage to stay pretty healthy year after year. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Speedy recovery to everyone on the sidelines.
surprisingly difficult to find. not looking for some bogus, fake jersey either. i'm just tryna immortalize my goat while watching my team reach greatness
SF loss + ARI loss + SEA loss + TB loss
SF loss + ARI loss + SEA loss + WAS loss + ATL loss
Although we definitely want ARI to beat the Vikings.
Our defense is getting absolutely decimated with injuries, but we've only lost a few for good. Our GM is phenomenal at accruing talent. He's making moves to cover us on that side until the playoffs come. Every guy on this team is ALL-IN. We are going to continue to play our game, and our record after week 18 will show it. THE SUPER BOWL IS GOING TO GO THROUGH FORD FIELD. Any team in the NFC better be terrified to face us in the playoffs, and any AFC team (especially the Chiefs) better be praying they don't come up against DMFC and Honolulu Blue in the Super Bowl. No denying anymore, the whole league is scared of us
Games left are: Packers, Bills, Bears, 49ers, Vikings.
Hard to say we will win all of these outright due to injuries so I would say we lose at least two more, and I'm not even sure which ones.
My prediction: 14-3
If Decker and Davis are back next week but Paschal and Levi are out, then that’s not the worst thing in the world
So I predicted a repeat 12-5 with a hedge of 11-6 heading into this season with a tougher strength of schedule, but I had 3 of those losses in the first half of the season.
I know folks are very doom and gloom over the injury situation, but I just don't see us losing out or only getting one more. My new uneducated homer prediction is 14-3.
Where are you at on yours?
Credit Dan Orlovsky (for running out of the back of the endzone)
Not sure if he’s our culture fit but seems like with our injuries we’ll have him
Easy home schedule next year
Hell yea skip!
My fiancé and I are attending our first ever NFL game on Thursday. We are sitting in section 215. It’s obviously going to be stupid loud (this doesn’t bother us, we go to NASCAR races). Just wondering what to expect? What time should we get down there?
We love our Lions.
He must have really disappointed in his tryout to have been sent packing and not even put on the PS.
Just curious to see who this sub values more. Both these guys are incredible assets to this regime. If you HAD to keep only one who would it be?
What life lessons have you taken to heart from our coach? He inspires me to be a better man, damnit.
Should they just give it to Hutch now, or do we need to wait until after next year?
One of 20 shots of jamo’s hurdle in slo mo from the team’s official IG
But sometimes you still gotta keep faith. Hell, the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2010 with 16 players on IR.
We got the best offense in the league, Ben Johnson, MCDC, and even Aaron Glenn has proven this year that he can cook. Still have Brian Branch, Kirby Joseph, Alim McNeil, Jack Campbell, ZaDarius Smith, and Alex Anzalone and Carlton Davis and Levi O will be back eventually. Maybe even Barnes and Hutch eventually. We can still do this.
