Still no head coach?

The more time that passes, the more I think that the union were not prepared for Jim's departure and that's disappointing.

Leagues Cup 2025 - Union Out of it?

While I asked about the ideal roster size considering that the club is not part of the CONCACAF Champions Cup and the future of the US Open Cup up in the air (somewhere between 25 to 27, by the way), I think Ernst Tanner gave us a hint at what Leagues Cup looks like next year:

"The simple answer is there is no ideal number. With a salary cap, you always need to fit in what you can fit in. And of course, then there is a number coming out.

But in recent seasons where we had less tournaments, and by the way, this will be the case in this season as well because we all know we don't play the Champions Cup, but we are also out of Leagues Cup.

And I think it's even a positive for us in this moment, as I know that our fans don't overly love our Leagues Cup, but we are definitely not getting so many midweek games and have more time to really focus on training and development. And that's the positive note. But it will be somewhere between 25 and 27 players.

Yeah, that's a good size. And yeah, I'm emphasize on the quality anyway than having 30 or even more players."

Anyone else watching Man City and feeling deja vu?

Man City is on (dumpster) fire right now. Just blew a 3-0 lead to Feyenoord (go Julian!), and comes off 5 straight losses. This feels familiar, but what else would they need to do to make this a proper Philly Union 2024 season? Ederson gets injured? Haaland sold to Al Nassar?

STM Referral Program

"For every friend, client, or co-worker who becomes a season ticket member, you’ll earn program rewards..."

Don't know if this is new or not, but it makes the decision to launch all the new premium seating that much more curious. At a minimum, there is no waitlist for club seats now as there was heading into the 2024 season. (I overheard an employee saying 40% of STMs didn't renew. No way to verify that, though.)

Carranza starting against City in the UCL

Nice to see Carranza getting starts for Feyenoord’s big games. Seeing him rot on a bench somewhere would’ve made the transfer sting that much more.

Sources: Neil Pierre - Homegrown Contract

Sources: The Philadelphia Union have signed Academy product and Union II player Neil Pierre, 17, to a Homegrown contract. His Union II deal will convert to a Homegrown contract in January.

Pierre has impressed at various U.S. national team levels and has also been invited to international camps by Haiti.

This year in MLS NEXT Pro, Pierre has logged over 2,300 minutes.

Congratulations to Neil.

As a Union fan, what order would you want to see the remaining teams win MLS cup?

For me, it goes:

  1. Galaxy

  2. Seattle

  3. Minnesota

—— big gap

  1. Atlanta

  2. Red Bull

  3. Orlando

Start The Clock

Ya know, sometimes coaches have more than one go with a club.

They win, they lose, they leave, and then they return for one more go.

WHO'S GONNA START THE CLOCK for Jim's return?

We understand that it will be a while. That's okay.

Start the clock.

USA v Jamaica

Jamaica’s back line is bad but even beyond that Blake looks terrible and just uninterested. Idk if he’s bummed from the season or but he just looks totally out of it.
