One thousand percent the double claw shots from TP were my jaaaaaam. I remember just being blown away by the city in the sky and the mechanics.
A close second would what be you get for beating every shrine in TOTK- won’t spoil in case people haven’t gotten it yet but gawddamn it’s so cool
Honory mention the bunny hood in MM 🏃♂️
What is yours? 💫😊
You read the title. What are your hot takes for The Legend of Zelda series? Mine would be that Zelda 1 hasn't aged the best. I think it's the worst game to go back to in the series. I also didn't love Majoras Mask.
I have been trying to play this game without guides and I was stuck on this puzzle for awhile, at first I thought I was missing a summon maybe that could interact with the statues in some way and after a hour of searching thinking I wasn't meant to be here yet I decide to look up the solution and the solution is that you need something to hit the switches at the same time. I thought the game was broken or something. Was there a hint that I missed or something?
I want to know what version of the game you played back in the game.
I know the Water Temple is regarded as a rough experience for most, and the puzzles are terrible at showing the player what is going on. However, I learned that the Master Quest version of the game changed a lot of things, including dungeon layouts and the puzzles inside.
And for the few who have played both, what changed with the water temple, and did it make your experience worse?
Screenrant posted a rather unimaginative article discussing the possibility of a sequel to TotK that I found uncompelling. Still, I've thought several times of wanting to see one more game in that version of Hyrule where we actually get to see everything before it was destroyed. Why not make one more game, but set during the Great Calamity or sometime in the 10,000 year interim? This seems obvious to me, and we would get to see so many locales fully developed and populated, such as Lanayru Road, Akkala Tower, the Great Plateau, the Forgotten Temple, and Crenel Hills/Peak. Aside from Lanayru Road at it's zenith I would especially want to see what the Crenel region looked like when all those giant trees were still alive. I imagine a continuous wooded area extending from the Great Hyrule Forest through Crenel all the way down to the Dracozu area in Faron, perhaps with settlements up in the trees themselves and a series of wooden paths/bridges going all the way south. I've seen enough ruins in the Zelda series. Hyrule before the destruction would be so much more enchanting, and it would be way more immersive considering how many more NPCs would necessarily have to be present.
Alright, I really love the whole story of the supreme demon king who, upon being defeated by the Goddess and the Hero, curses them and the realm with his cyclical return in many different forms (and timelines), but for me it’s due already.
I really liked playing TOTK, but I admit that by then I didn’t enjoy seeing Ganondorf coming back once again. BOTW was, for me, the perfect finale for Ganon’s arc, think about it:
“The primordial evil, after tens of thousands of years terrorizing the land, has become Calamity Ganon, now more a mindless evil force of nature than a conscious being, almost tormented by its own existence but still compelled to wreck havoc. His essence finally put to an end by an incarnation of the Hero and the Goddess, in a post apocalyptic future where he almost managed to destroy everything.”
For me that’s beautiful, poetic even.
But they brought him back in TOTK as the good ol Ganondorf, king of the Gerudo. He died anyway, ok.
And how about in future games?
Will Ganon come back AGAIN? For me this is a total lack of creativity and a decision to play safe story wise. It’s starting to feel like Pokemon and Team Rocket (they always return, no matter how hard you defeat them).
In my opinion the Zelda franchise needs new original villains, not just some stand in creatures to warm Ganondorf’s seat while the producers find clever ways to put him once again in a game.
And they CAN do that, Majora was for example a demonstration of how creative they can get in this sense.
What are your thoughts about it?
TLDR: I think Ganon should have died in BOTW, it would be a perfect ending. Making him come back in TOTK was, in my opinion a mistake. Now I think bringing him once again in future games is lazy and the franchise deserves better.
Back when I was younger I was playing an old Zelda game on an emulator. The only thing I really remember is that there was a store in the game with some sort of gatcha machine, where you would get figures of in game characters. I've been trying to find it for years but no one seems to know what I'm talking about 🥲
Keep in mind:
Keeping these factors in mind, what would a third Oracle game be like focusing on courage?
I would love to have a complete file for both games and I would prefer playing the linked version of both due to the extra dungeon/cave at the end. However, I really dont wanna play them twice. I have read a lot about how the linking works and I could transfer rings via code and link cable. Now my question revolves around the additional items (Master Sword, Mirror Shield etc). Afaik, in order to get these, I have to enter secrets from the linked game into a base game, but in my scenario there wouldnt be a base game, only two linked ones. Does that mean there is no way for me to get these extra items?
Started playing wind waker hd a few days ago and im trying to 100% it. Im struggling with certain figurines like the king of red lions, the stone idols and certain koroks. Can i fix this or am i taking the photos wrong?
Since Nintendo music is a thing now, I have a playlist challenge. If you could only make a playlist with twenty songs from the Zelda series, with a feeling attached to the playlist, what would they be? By feeling I mean that a playlist, titled Bombastic Beats to Barrage the Blights, would have really upbeat and exciting music.
I'm almost done in stone temple and have all the stray fairies. I'm suspecting that I don't have time to beat the boss AND restore the great fairy. If I have to choose just one before restarting the 3day cycle, which should I choose?
In Zelda Phantom Hourglass, anoukis and yooks were two rival tribes who bare a lot of resemblance to Khond and Skorchill respectively. Is it possible that they belong to those races?
I am making a Christmas gift for a friend of mine who is a big Zelda fan.
I painted a set of Russian Dolls for a few other friends of mine (Pokemon & Dragonball Z themed!) and this friend was really into them. I want to make them their own set, but this time Zelda themed.
I know they have played all the more recent games, I know BOTW was a favorite of theirs, and I know they played whichever Zelda game(s) were out for the GameCube as a child.
The extent of my Zelda knowledge is from Super Smash Brothers Melee (so basically, nothing other than a few character names).
I would be painting a set of 6 dolls. Obviously I will include the characters Link and Zelda, but who are some of the other Main Characters (or cool, reoccurring side characters or creatures) from the series? Is Ganon the antagonist in every game? Is Sheik relevant in current games? Are there any characters that are universally loved or hated by fans of the game?
I can definitely get more information from this friend on what characters they like, but I don't want to do to much poking around and throw up any red flags that I'm planning something.
Any help is appreciated!!
Hi everyone, so I have just begun my first playthrough of Wind Waker on GameCube, and I thought I would start making some posts about it, where I can talk about my thoughts so far, as well as ask some questions that the internet doesn’t seem to have answers for.
For some context, this is my first “traditional” 3D Zelda. The only 3D ones I’ve played before are BotW and TotK, and I loved them. I’ve also played LA, so I do have some experience with traditional Zelda.
So I don’t have too much to say about Outset Island, it’s pretty linear and limited in terms of what you can do. I did put all 3 pigs in the lady’s pen, though, and I’m pretty sure I was already maxed out on rupees when I left.
Also, is it just me, or is the text in this game SUPER slow? Talking to ordinary NPCs is fine, but any story-related dialogue box, as well as any item description when you pick something up, takes so long to get through. Even for spoils—I have to sit through a good 10 seconds of text whenever I find a Joy Pendant in a chest. Am I missing something?
Moving on to the pirate ship, Tetra is SUPER rude. Was not expecting that. Also, they literally catapulted me into a spooky death fort in a barrel?! What the hell?! …And now I’ve lost my sword. Great.
Forsaken Fortress was a little confusing, there were a bunch of paths to try. It’s also annoying to have to climb back up the whole thing every time you get spotted and thrown in jail.
I also managed to get up to the thin ledges right before you get your sword back… before turning off the spotlight pointed at it. So I had to go back down and do that. Luckily, there doesn’t seem to be fall damage in this game, or maybe I just haven’t fallen far enough to trigger it.
And then Link dies, the end. And OH MY GOD IS THAT BOAT TALKING TO ME?
There’s a lot to do on Windfall, and I managed to do exactly none of it. The schoolteacher wanted me to tell the boys to come to school, but when I talked to them they just went on about a Picto Box in the jail. Speaking of which, I freed Tingle, and then searched the jail cell. No Picto Box.
I hate Sploosh Kaboom. That is all.
Isn’t it lucky that Dragon Roost just happens to be due east of Windfall when the wind is blowing to the east? What a happy coincidence.
When I got to Dragon Roost, I explored the back first thing, so I wound up getting the Wind Requiem before doing anything else. I was curious if that meant I could just… leave, now that I could control the wind, but the boat wouldn’t let me.
Not to brag, but I sorted 20 letters on my first try, so…
I got stuck for a bit trying to get into the cavern. It took a while to occur to me that I could rehydrate the bomb flowers with the bottle Medli gave me.
I really liked the first half of Dragon Roost Cavern, and I hated the second half. Up until getting the Grappling Hook was smooth sailing, at which point I promptly got stuck. It took ages before I figured out I could cut the ropes on the bridge to get back down to a lower level.
Also, WOW lava is really annoying. it doesn’t do too much damage, but the length of the respawn cutscene gets super old. Speaking if things getting super old, did we really need to watch the same animation every time I use the Grappling Hook?
So let’s talk about Gohma. I kind of hated it. Breaking his armor wasn’t bad, but then I couldn’t figure out how to hit him. I figured I needed to grapple his eye because otherwise he was too far away, but I couldn’t do it. It was a very long time before I figured out that I needed to target him before grappling. Nothing else I’ve needed to grapple has needed to be targeted, and that’s the only real way to beat him. The game, I felt, didn’t adequately teach me what I needed to know for that boss.
Anyway, I have Din’s Pearl now. Not quite sure why I need it, the boat didn’t explain. But I have it, and now I have unrestricted access to the Great Sea.
I know I’ve been complaining a lot, but I am genuinely enjoying this game. Apart from a few things, it’s a lot of fun. The main thing I want to know is whether there’s a way to scroll through text faster.
Those are my thoughts for the first part of the game. I’ll be back next time with whatever the second dungeon is!
I’m sure this has been gone over before, I feel like I’m going crazy. This is what I’ve been doing:
pay the guy
walk in and dig middle straight line horizontal. Left - right.
if the heart piece is not in that line I pull back the save states back to BEFORE I START DIGGING THE LINE BUT AFTER I PAY THE GUY TO PLAY.
Should this “eventually” work doing it this way or should I be pulling back the save states to BEFORE I PAY TO PLAY.
I don’t mind brute forcing this with save states as long as I’m doing all I can with this. It’s been 3 hours and still no good, maybe I’m not pulling back the states as far as I should be.
It's so hard to choose my first Zelda game Breath of the wild or Tears of the kingdom What game do you guys think is better,?
me personally I think my favorite ship is >!the king of red lions!< but what about you guys?
It’s weird to get hyped up over this shit per se, but I knew before playing this game, Navi had a legendary reputation for being the most annoying video game helper ever and allegedly drove many players insane back in the 90s.
I was morbidly looking forward to how bad it would be, but it’s just so underwhelming when playing the game. She’s barely even there and I think you would have to have a really short fuse to get genuinely mad over the “hey listen” line once in a while. I honestly expected her to come out every new event (including meeting new enemies) to forcibly stop you in your tracks and text wall you but that didn’t happen.
But it might be on a person to person basis.

I am in the Fire Temple. I reached the room above the lava geyser and the block but I don't have the key to unlock it. I already found and used 2. Is it that I can't find the last one (where is it, i looked everywhere) or is it that the game glitched and I cannot use this savefile now? (kill everyone on sighttttt)
Now before you reply, I’m aware Age of Calamity is the prequel to Breath of the Wild, so I know that it may already be counted as a trilogy, but what i’m wondering [if your able to tell me without spoiling any of the plot] is if there will be another game after totk.
I’m about 7ish hours into botw and am loving it and so got Age of calamity so once i’m finished i can go straight onto that, but i’m just curious to see if it 100% ends at totk or not.
I cannot find a video on YouTube or any other site that showcases entering level 9. Is there a prompt saying you cannot continue or do the doors in Level 9 not open? I don't own the game so apologies.
I’m early in the game on my N64 - had to close the game right after I made it to the graveyard in Kakariko village and now I respawn back at Link’s house. How do I get back without having to deal with the castle guards? Thanks
