I somewhat got tired of having japanese os for wii u, is there a way to change the wii u os to make it permanently usa wii u?
So for my Christmas I want a Wii but I want to know if it’s worth it because I do not want to spend money just for it to be useless. Can anyone give some positive features or things about it so I can see if I still want it?
So i wanted to use wii u chat but i found out i need a modded console which i cant get and am too broke for and i wanted to see if there is maybe another way? Like a dns method it exploit?
Recently bought this (LaCie Rugged SSD, 2 TB, USB-C). The console didn't seem to recognize the drive at all when I turned it on after connecting it. The drive kept making weird clicking sounds, and it had a light on it that would turn on for a moment, then turn off, then start flashing, then remain on again for a moment, and so on. I saw a post by another person describing similar issues, and someone had commented on it saying that their drive wasn't receiving enough power without a Y cable. If that's the case with me, could someone tell me what kind of Y cable I should get?
TLDR: WiiU pad uses up one of 5GHz Wifi channels, if your access points uses/overlaps that you might get (much) degraded performance.
So my home network is fibre ⇿ router ⇿ mesh/wifi ⇿ my room where mesh is 2.4 and 5GHz wifi. 5GHz was setup to use 80MHz (4 channel bundling). We're lucky and neighbourhood is pretty clean so all channels are < 90dBm so can use any channels for wifi so everything has been on default/first available channel so far.
I dug up WiiU and suddenly network performance (from my room so over wifi) was just bad, where fast.com gave ~500Mbps it was now much slower 1-2. WiiU also intermittently complained that connection to mothership was bad and image quality (even on small pad!) was choppy. Ubiquity/unifi (router/mesh manufacturer) showed that "everything is fine, almost no retries". When I turned WiiU pad off, network was like it was supposed to be. Android app Wifiman showed a strong spike right in the middle of the band group (the 80MHz bundle of channels 36, 40, 44, 48).
As there are no controls in WiiU on which channel it uses (it also does seem to be moving around, maybe it tries to sense least used channel but the trouble probably is that all channels available to it are in fact used) I changed mesh router settings to use channel 100. Now both work at the same time at original speeds.
I was just wandering if a USA Wii U gamepad and console charger would work with a Japanese Wii U?
I need to replace my wii u gamepad screen and/or digitizer, anyone have a recommendation of where to buy replacement parts? BC the replacement I bought off amazon was broken in box. Also looked into ifixit but they're all out of stock
I
I just recently hombrewed my Wiiu and got really excited to get a lot of games for the Wiiu and vWii only to figure out that there’s not a lot of storage. I’ve done some googling but still got some questions.
1)what would be the best HDD or SSD for it?
what would be the best y cable for it?
can I use 1 or do i need 2 HDD/SSD for vWii and Wiiu games?
I am trying to fix a Fit Meter that has a shattered screen. Everything else works great, it just needs a screen replacement. I have looked on eBay and for parts or for a broken Fit Meter but haven't found anything yet. Are there any places that specifically sell the screen?
Sorry for the image quality, but for context im looking to buy a Wii U, this is my main option:
For about 150 dollars id get this second hand Wii U + Digital MK8 with DLC + Physical Mario Kart Wii + Physical Nintendo land + Wii U Pro Controller + Charging stand + all the cables and stuff.
Sadly, the gamepad has this dark fade around the edges, will it spread? And if it will, is it a slow process or is it like a wildfire?
My last question would be: Considering everything, is it a fair price?
Thank you.
My Wii U is bricked and was stuck on the Wii U logo got a raspberry pi pico and a sd card and it’s turning off my Wii U when I attempt to go into the recovery menu can I get some help? Please
happy to be getting back into wii u collecting
Not really a collector so have alot of disc only
But ehh it's growing
The battery life is godlike and the button layout is original in my opinion.
Aside from fingerprint marked making it look dirty and the console having to be on in order for it to charge, I like it.

(Look at title)
So I am looking for a storage source for my wii u but I don't know which is best I hear that a SSD is the best way to go in terms of speed. On the other hand there is HDD and I don't know the ups and downs of the HDD but I would think that it is a better option compared to a USB (which is my current way of Storing games). So should I stick with a HDD or just get a SSD?
Would it be ok to use a usb charger for the Wii U gamepad and if it is what wattage usb plug should I use
So like 2-3 months ago i went to play my wii u and then this suddenly happens where the wii u game pad won't connect to the wii u and the wii u won't show nothing on my tv, i tried youtube vids, moving stuff around, other tvs, and even using the wii components connectors to a tv but nothing work so can y'all help me cause i also want to mod it
I just want a pair of simple thumbgrips for my Wii U Gamepad and Pro Controllers, I just need 2 pairs. UK links preferred
