Has anybody noticed a slow time effect every once in a while when using the edge of duality that makes it easier to do a perfect dodge.
Hey guys, how are you all?
I have a problem that I can't figure out
I have one mini quest left to do, Fantastic Flamenco, and I need 11 korok seeds but I don't know where to get them/find them
I have completed everything else (all main quests, mini fight quests etc etc, everything else on the map) so I don't know what I'm missing or what I'm meant to do
It's the last thing I need to do before I have clear central hyrule and also the map in general (the stars in the middle)
Any help would be much appreciated
Anyone know fun things to do after finishing the game. (Also done with DLC)
I'm aware some people think of Age of Calamity as merely just licensed fanfiction, but I love it!
Not going to lie, I liked Tears of the Kingdom a lot, I play it alot! It's gameplay is obviously more enjoyable than AOC for me since my autism/adhd loves building things, most of my hours have been poured into the building stuff. (Not to say AOC is boring, its fun!)
But the story for some reason didn't stick with me. But while replaying Age Of Calamity, I remembered that I really loved it's story. Tears of the Kingdom felt almost disconnected from BOTW like it wants to forget it happened, while Calamity's world paid respect to BOTW's world.
TOTK had a lot of "Wow!" and "Amazing!" moments in it's story, thanks to the visuals and AMAZING soundtrack. (Tears might have the best soundtrack ngl im torn)
But AOC's story moments had me legit popping off like "YOOOO THIS IS AWESOME" like a 5 year old seeing spiderman for the first time. This also came with a great ost as well.
In regards to story though...(SPOILERS)
!I didn't really think much of Tears Ganon, he felt kind of... stale? Especially after the reveal of what came before in the past. (I thought it was gonna be reincarnation stuff) Kogha gets reduced to depth dwelling stuff and is just there for the autobuild stuff. In general, the yiga have been mostly swept underground (literally)!<
!Age of Calamity's villains though, Astor, Kohga, Sooga, Harbinger and Calamity Ganon, I enjoyed and found them a lot more enjoyable. (AOC Calamity Ganon is my favorite Ganon) Even Astor with how much of a "average evil doer", he does have some moments that make him stand out. (The DLC also gives us his backstory, but with TOTK Ganon, he just... is a king and.. has to rule? I dont get it.)!<
!It's bizarre. Both AOC and TOTK had time travel shenanigans. But AOC did it in a way I liked more. AOC also had more moments where character could be built for some of the cast, such as the champions, or Zelda. The world feels a lot more connected and natural.!<
! Again, I don't HATE TOTK, it's gameplay is great! The story just... I don't know why but I don't vibe with it. Is that a bad thing? !<
My GOAT
When you make a new game, do you keep the outfits that you unlock throughout the game or do you just have to unlock them again when you play the game again?
I see it’s a link outfit, but I can’t get it because the completion rate how do I see what my completion is in the game
I was transferring my save data from my old switch to my new one and I lost the DLC data. A message popped up on the screen saying all of my dlc data can't be loaded because it is not downloaded. I tried redownloading the dlc but nothing. Any help?
Love, Master Kohga fan #1
Had to do my GOAT justice
I'm talking in two categories, the first one being how fun they are and then how strong you made them. For me it was Master Kohga and Sooga because Kohga reminds me entirely or Zant's gameplay from the previous installment, with Sooga's entire parry and keep attacking mechanic just being super fun to execute perfectly. Your guy's thoughts?
You’d think I’d know how to get these reports since I have over 1,000 hours in this game, but since I got the DLC after beating the game and didn’t bother with actually playing the dlc stuff until later on, I kinda just already had everything I needed to complete the whole dlc lol Now after I reset my progress, I’m not sure how to get them. I have an idea, but it’s spoilery, so I won’t say it here. Cheers!
Has anyone ever explored the idea that Sooga might be Ganondorf?
While it doesn't add up perfectly, during my initial playthrough of Age of Calamity, it felt to me like Sooga might have been Ganondorf in disguise. Or possibly an early direction ultimately abandoned by the developers? Sooga was a threatening figure who disappears near the end; his story unresolved. Was this addressed in the DLC? Some theories say he died off screen?
TL;DR: Has anyone yet theorized/debunked that Sooga is Ganondorf?
(the rest is ADHD-fueled speculation and ramblings about head-canon)
Sooga is EFFECTIVELY the leader of the Yiga, a group devoted to Ganon. Dual wielding weapons and with a similar body type to previous iterations. Some tusky-vibes in the design... kinda?
Not a lot to go on, but enough to make me wonder at the end of my first play-through. Anyone have any others? I'd have to play through AoC again to recall what made me feel confident in this theory as I played.
TotK obviously hurt this personal theory when it revealed Ganondorf's actual backstory.
My original belief was that since Astor went back in time and triggered the Calamity prematurely, there would be no need for the AoC Sooga to do so himself as Sooga might have done in the BotW timeline. Not that we have enough info about the Calamity to find Sooga's absence from BotW to be too meaningful or contradictory. In both timelines, Sooga's fate is unknown or left ambiguous... correct?
Sooga (AoC) is an alias for Ganondorf, one of the centennial Gerudo Kings. This iteration could be seeking his legacy sealed within the body of Ganondorf (TotK) deep beneath Hyrule Castle.
In my head-canon, 'Ganon" meaning "demon" and "dorf" meaning "cage" in the Gerudo language. Sooga tries and fails to reach the seal and prevent the Calamity and avoid his destiny to become an unwilling vessel for Demise. A fate some among the Gerudo desire for their fated king, despite his wishes. Perhaps he joins the Yiga while hiding his true identity, using it strategically to his advantage.
Pretending to be a prophet, revealing the guardians and Divine Beasts as a failsafe, ensuring the Yiga had an otherwise incompetent leader, triggering the Calamity while Zelda was safely away from the castle (unlike Astor).
Only to underestimate Calamity Ganon or be betrayed by another.
Still, as far as I can tell, the canon of the BotW series of games doesn't seem to contradict many aspects of the original theory. Which, again, was more meaningful before the release of TotK.
My overall Legend of Zelda head-canon would be this series of games:
One final story with this iteration of Legend of Zelda. Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf join and create the Triforce and together must make one wish.
Ultimately pull a Bioshock Infinite reveal all timelines as equally canon, separate, and influencing each other throughout time. The Zelda Timeline becomes the Zelda Multiverse.
Everyone can be "happy" without worrying too much about continuity, while still allowing individual Legends to have meaning.
yadda yadda yadda. fan fiction material, I know but call it "Fate of Memory" of "Whispers of Fate," make it all about the memory and story and self-fulfilling prophecies... Man, I'd eat that shit up.
I recently completed this game and I started Hyrule Warriors DE, and if I'm being honest, I'm just not feeling it? The gameplay and controls of AoC felt so refined, it was like I was playing a Zelda game that was built around just fighting enemies. DE feels like a Warriors Game, which I get some people may prefer, but it just isn't doing it for me. I find the emphasis on combat, and finding new ways to combo enemies and destroy weak point gauges as fast as possible in AoC way more enjoyable that keeping track of multiple keeps and objectives on a map in DE.
The frustrating thing is, DE has endgame content and AoC kind of doesn't? Unless I want to just try and get stronger weapons for my characters, there really isn't a lot left to do. Granted, I might end up doing that anyway, because I feel like I want to play this game a bit more before I'm done with it.
Just thought I'd share my thoughts. AoC really nailed the feeling of playing an actual Zelda game much more than DE did.
Hello I just got into the game after watching some of it on YT :) I got a question about seals tho. Are some more rare than others? Like i found only one attack speed seal but like 20 health fruit ones. Also the 'find better weapons' one didnt appear once by now (i just cleared the yiga hideout after doing the thunder titan thing). Do i have to unlock some seals?
If someone has any Tips i appreciate it Thx :)
As Hyrule Warriors AoC turns 4 years old (wow time flies), I decided to watch the cutscenes again out of nostalgia. For context, I haven't touched the game since 2021. I remember loving the gameplay, but hating the story.
After viewing the cutscenes and comparing them to the memories in BotW, I can point to a few reasons why the narrative of the game didn't click with me. I won't touch on the ending of the game, but the direction of the story took was very noncommittal in my opinion.
In BotW, Zelda's initial hatred of Link stems from her insecurity of not being able to awaken her powers. Link's possession of the Master Sword and appointment as 'the hero' is a constant reminder of Zelda's inability to fulfill her destiny. As the memories progress, Link goes from being an unwanted presence to a trustworthy confidant, and his presence within the cutscenes had an impact in Zelda's story.
In AoC, Link's presence is barely acknowledged by Zelda for the first third of the game. It doesn't make sense why he is present in any of the story cutscenes until he pulls out the Master Sword halfway into the game. There is no explanation for why he gets appointed as Zelda's bodyguard except for plot convenience. Very little of the relationship progression in BotW occurs between the two characters. As someone who wanted to see this relationship be further explored, this was a huge disappointment.
Similar to Zelda and Link, I felt that the supporting cast and their dynamics were lacking in depth.
Antagonists - No one remembers Astor. He's so forgettable that Team Ninja didn't bother making him playable . The Yiga Clan might as well be cartoon characters. They exist to cause mild inconveniences in the plot, and nothing they do has any impact on the story.
Champions - very underdeveloped. They have very little time to play off each other, Link, and Zelda, and the story doesn't really evolve the characters beyond how they were portrayed in BotW. The best Champion is obviously Urbosa, her position as surrogate mother/ mentor to Zelda was interesting and was exactly what I was looking for out of a prequel to BotW. I also thought Revali's presence helped define Link as a character better through their rivalry.
Mipha and Daruk get the short end of the stick when it comes to characterization. I was most looking forward to seeing Mipha's and Link's relationship as BotW seemed to imply some sort of romantic connection between the two. In AoC, they barely interact with each other and the romance seems very one sided on Mipha's end. It's hard to believe their affection when they have zero chemistry. As for Daruk, he is just forgettable.
As AoC has two hours of cutscenes, I was really surprised how little these characters react to each other's presence. I feel like there was a lot of potential to dive into these relationships and see how the cast played off of each other, but sadly there wasn't much.
The story cutscenes between missions spend a lot of time repeating information that we already know from BotW. It doesn't feel like any new information is learned.
Chapters 1 and 2 are basically setting up the plot to BotW again. Zelda learns that Calamity Ganon bad, and she needs to stop it. She and Link gather the 4 champions to pilot the divine beasts.
Chapter 3 and 4 - Link gets the Master Sword and the conflict between Zelda and her dad is re-established.
The remaining chapters are dedicated to fighting the forces of Calamity Ganon. I just feel like these events are all things that I expected to happen and very little new information was gained. This was a major reason why I was uninterested in the plot until chapter 5 and after, because all I wanted to see was the main group fight the Calamity. I guess due to being a 'prequel', it's natural for all of these plot points to be hit, I just wish that the character progression or depth was there to keep my interest.
If you made it this far, then thank you for reading a random guy's post on the internet :). If you liked the story, please tell me your thoughts! Would love to hear them.
So after a two or so year break, I decided to come back to age of calamity and 100% it +DLC, and in the process, did all of the hidden battles in the EX main quests. Can I do them again and get more, or did I screw myself over somewhere in the past and locked myself out of 100%ing the game. Please help!
I started a new game awhile ago but I didn't have this problem at first.
Whenever I use bombs the game pauses and takes a screen shot. Is there a reason this is happening? Its really starting to bug me.
How often does it go on sale? Are we expecting it to any time soon?
How to I beat harbinger ganon? I’m only level 40, do I have to level up more, or is there a strategy?
While I was fighting him, I did a weak-point attack, but then in the middle of the attack, Astor said “CURSE YOU” and teleported away XD
Title
Hey yall. Recently got back into the game. Grinding gear now.
Is there anywhere that shows the max base power of every weapon? Would be dope if it also shows the max power at each level breakpoint too. Like 20, 25, 30, and 50!
Does anyone know how to unlock the secret memory quest of “EX the Yiga Clan’s Retreat?
