Our community is dedicated to all things Metroid; make sure your submissions follow suit. Stay on topic and avoid using vague references in your submission or title. Any content not directly related to Metroid will be removed. A cute title or text over an image is not enough to be considered relevant. Neither are look-alikes that are otherwise unrelated. Keep your submissions on point.
Do not post submissions or comments with little to no effort. This includes, but is not limited to:
It's our belief that all artists should get the credit they deserve. When posting someone else's artwork, include name attribution in the title and, if possible, a link to the original source in the replies. Failing to provide attribution will result in your submission being removed.
As a result of this requirement, AI-generated artwork is also banned, as it's impossible to provide attribution to the artists whose art was used to train the model.
Discussion of emulation and hacks is allowed, but keep it simply at that. Sharing or asking for roms or emulators will get you banned, as will advocating for piracy in general. Please do not give specific information on ROM manipulation, patching, etc. If you must know how, a Google search will be sufficient.

Ridley dies at the end.
Other M is a video game.
New Metroid games tend to be far and few between. Don't ruin the surprises they may have for others.
Pornography and R34 content is not permitted and will result in a permaban. Limit let's plays to a single episode or speedruns to once in a while. Links to your own content should account for about 10% of your total combined submissions and comments, not including comments on your own submissions.
Any cosplay without armor must be OC! Please refer to Rule 8 and post in moderation. Excessive amounts of submissions will be removed and action handled at moderator discretion.

This fight was so close!!!! I’ve never struggled this much before 😮💨
Wore my Super Metroid T shirt, got inspired!
After a series of annoying bomb jumps, I made it to lower Norfair for the first time without ice beam and other power ups 😎 I was trying to get screwattack early, but I accidentally went through a wrong door and ended up in Ridley 😂 I haven’t even beaten Kraid yet or beaten the monster fly mini boss thing yet 💀
Hey gang
Anyone wanna have a low level map rando race discord? I’m looking for interest if folks wanna play for funsies and try to get better with each other and have some challenges together. If there is interest I’ll start a discord channel and post the link if it is allowed Mods. See you on the streets of Maridia nerds 😉
Spent most of my time playing Prime Hunter personally, just wish the camera didn't shake so much ._.
Im halfway through the game (its my introduction to the metroid series; made a 1 or 2 month break from playing it; im TRYING to do a 100% run). I have some games backlogged that i want to play, but im afraid that i wont be getting the full experience if i dont try a "15% items" or "<2 or 4 hours" playtrough.

The ending music of Metroid Prime Beyond trailer sounded very much like Yamamoto's style, but it is also possible that he is the sound director and he is mentoring younger composers to emulate his style. Yamatos music are usually very memorable, unique and atmospheric. The trailer gave me little bit of that vibe tho. Its 50% at this point.
I got the super jump boots. And when I went to the next room the door was greyed out had never seen that before messed around for 10 minutes and got lucky and killed the floating alien in front of the door.
Which ended up opening it. Did the game previously explain that ? Or did I just get lucky. Why does killing the alien in front of the door make it open again. And why did the door get locked when it previously worked fine
Why the black holster only appeared in Other M and not in any other game where the Zero Suit appeared? Tell me in the comments below!
It's the only classic beam from the 2D games to not be in a Prime game. Considering the Spazer functions as a way to give your beam more coverage of the 2D plane, you figure it could transfer well into the 3D Prime games.
Would the charge beam just be stronger or would it create more projectiles and cover more of the screen? I remember there was a Doom mod, Metroid Dreadnought I believe, where you could gets the Spazer and the charge beam fires 9 shots instead of 3. Also, what would the Missile/Charge Combo be like?
Considering what the Spazer does it seems like the kind of beam where you wouldn't go back to the Power Beam unless you have to use a Super Missile, seems like it's a straight upgrade since that's how it functions in the 2D games. It feels like the Spazer would only be considered for a Prime game if the beams stacked.
What is the most difficult platform for you?
I really don't know anything about Metroid, but in these past few years I have started to play games from other franchises and I would like to know more about this one.
I know there are some of the older games in Switch Online, and I will look for gameplays to see how the game works, but I wanted to know your opinion.
I recently lost my job, and while my life is going through some extremely turbulence I’ve found some solace and comfort in my favorite video game series. While I’m in free fall in life and am attempting to fashion a parachute to land safely I’ve been enjoying having a moment here and there to reconnect with Metroid.
I just wanted to highlight the visual difference to something so alluring to the series and that’s been a key staple since its inception: the Red Hatch. Behind the Red Hatches, door shields, an item to help both Samus and the player throughout their mission awaits them. I remember loving the various doors in Samus Returns, Mercury Steam did such a phenomenal job with the Red Hatches, that I was so stoked to see what their second stab at them would be like in Dread. Man, did they not disappoint.
Here’s to whatever Metroid title Mercury Steam is cooking up next, Retro Studios’ Prime 4 Beyond, maybe an HD re-release of Samus Returns on the Switch, and just Metroid… forever.
“See you next mission.”
