Hello!
First of all I would like to say that I've searched everywhere for this, but I can't find the exact information for the NES Classic version, only for the SNES Mini.
Is there any detailed step-by-step guide to install SNES games on the NES Classic?
Thank you!
I was playing Rad Racer II to test it out and see if all of the graphical glitches have been fixed by Retroarch, and thankfully, it worked! But now, my NES Mini always exits out of the game and back to the menu screen. Hopefully, you guys can give me some advice on how to fix it, and please respond soon. Thank you!
Is this normal
Me and my dad got a Classic nes mini and the only controller that works with it is the one that came in the box. We got 6 different controllers, 2 official ones brand new in their boxes and none of them work in either port, only the one that came in the box. Can anyone help?
I know this issue was fixed officially by Nintendo on the SNES Classic and also the Switch, but was this ever fixed by fans for the NES Classic?
My kid got a new miniNES as a gift. It comes with one controller that works pretty well, but not for every game. For example, on Galaga, sometimes movement does not register. It's unplayable. I bought an third party controller (says compatible with SNES), that has more buttons than the stock controller. I also bought a new, packaged, wii classic controller RVL-005 which nintendo lists as compatible with the minNES. All the markings and logos look legit. I also bought two controller extension cables. So I have
What works: stock controller in player 1 port. stock controller with either extension cable in player 1 port.
Does not work: Neither the wii controller, nor the third party controller work at all in either player port, with or without the extension cables.
Third party controller came with a minNES port female to usb dongle. I used this to check all three controllers in a laptop with a game controller tester. This shows that all three controllers work reliably. The wii controller seems better, responds reliably with a lighter touch. But the others are ok.
So... I can't come up with any theory consistent with all of this data. I should point out that the stock controller requires more force to insert into the game ports and into the port on the usb dongle as well.
If I had bought this on Amazon, I would have returned it a long time ago. But it was a gift.
Does anyone have a clue what is going on here?
I was considering opening the console and splicing more female ports in. If nothing else, cut an extension cable and splice the female end in. But I am not convinced this would solve the problem.
Just got a NES classic edition, but upon booting it up, all the text and images look kind of low quality, and even compared to official pictures of NES classic’s, mine looks different. Any ideas?
hi hi i just got myself crt tv somewhere random in my house but it only has scart cable input.. i bought a adapter for way too much but it doesnt seem to work as my nes mini keeps turning off anyone that can help with this?
Happy day after Christmas everyone! I'm not sure where to post this query, so starting here. I've had a hard time finding a genuine original NES Classic edition. So far I've purchased (and plan to return) 2 units from 2 different eBay sellers claiming to be the real deal, only to determine they are fake upon arrival. Sure they work, but the controller is cheap, not "snappy" and the latency seems too high. Any pointers? Thanks!
I thought about modding my NES Classic and so I tried to turn it on but it doesn't work. When I plug it in and hit the power button, nothing happens. No light, no output, nothing. I've tried different power cords but nothing works. Does anyone know how I can fix it?
Hello, I have an NES Classic mini console that I've had since 2016, it's worked great up until now, at least, the controller.
You see, every time I try pressing right on the D-Pad, it instead reads my input as down, and up instead reads left. Is there any way to fix my controller, or am I going to have to pay extortion prices for a new controller?
Much help from and love to u/domino089 for his assistance with these!

Okay, so I've been looking at a bunch of tutorials and I still haven't figured out how to play Mario Paint on my NES Classic. I've installed RetroArch using MrMario2011's tutorial "How to Install RetroArch for SNES or NES Classic!" and I already have the game installed on my MiniNES, but I just can't figure out how to get the mouse to work. Do I also need an adapter for the mouse?
Hello,
I know this has been brought up once more on this subreddit in the thread linked below, but I'm wondering if anyone can be more detailed on how you can get Gimmick!/Mr. Gimmick to work on the NES Mini.
This was the first time it was asked: https://www.reddit.com/r/minines/comments/78cwj7/any_way_to_get_mr_gimmick_working_on_on_the_nes/
First off, I have a NES Mini modded with Hakchi2 CE. I've been able to add 119 games until now with no problems at all.
I understand Mr. Gimmick has some special expansion chip and it cannot be played with the default emulator so I need to get RetroArch. I went ahead and got the "retroarch_with_cores" folder and installed it on my NES Mini.
I downloaded all three ROMs available online for the game, with hopes that at least one will work: Gimmick! (Japan).zip Mr. Gimmick (Europe).zip Mr. Gimmick (USA) (Proto).zip
I tried adding them in zip format and also unzipped (the ".nes" files). I right-clicked, chose "Select emulation core" and switched it to nestopia for all of them. They show up in the menu, but when I click start to play them it just show a black screen for 3 seconds and then goes back to the menu.
I then tried adding this in the command line in hackchi: "--retroarch --core nestopia". Same thing.
As a side-note, this same thing happens to the "Batman: Return of the Joker" USA ROM, but I'm more concerned in getting Mr. Gimmick to run as it's one of my favorite games of all time.
Can anyone provide some steps on how to proceed to get Mr. Gimmick to run on my console?
Thank you in advance!
2007FPB has video outputs (DVI-D, VGA, Composite (yellow only), S-Video) and my SNES has both outputs (Power and Multi-AV with SCART)
The HDMI port on the NES Mini console uses which HDMI version?
