If a thread title is clearly marked as a spoiler thread (either through a spoiler flair or [SPOILERS] in the title) then spoiler tags aren't necessary when commenting in that thread. For example, in a thread called "[SPOILERS] Discuss the Ending" you don't need to tag every spoiler, but in a thread called "Question about the story" you do. I never put much thought about it but it now occurred to me how little these pseudo 10 commandments apply to salvaging. At what point will making a woman smile come up when salvaging? I guess if they are trying to sell to one but that's kind of a stretch imo since that could apply to literally anything. Same thing for the punch out one, when is a salvager going to get into a fight and drinking (which I assume means alcohol) to become friends? And don't get me started on the first one, swim like a fish and drink like one too? I didn't know salvagers were regarded as pirates in the world of Alrest.
I think these were made up by Rex as his own personal morality list because all of these apply to Rex (minus the alcohol part). He is a great swimmer, refuses to make enemies out of anyone, does his best to make Pyra/Mythra happy (and all the people around him but the rule specifies girls so that's what I am focusing on), and so on and so forth. I don't believe I need to do a deep dive on Rex's psychology for you all.
Finally bit the bullet and got it today I've completed all the previous games to basically 100% and plan to do the same for 3 but somehow know next to nothing regarding the actual game for 3 (I know character names and a few major story beats but that's pretty much it) what are some systems or aspects to this game that I absolutely shouldn't ignore e.g I didn't get way into the affinity chart for blades in 2 till later than I should have would appreciate any recommendations
Hi, I've been playing Xenoblade 3D on my old 3ds after finding it in my mom's basement in June. I began playing my old save from 8 years ago. After playing the game for a while I reached the final boss today. I am stuck on phase one and legit can't get his hp past 3/4. I'm on phase one still lol. My team is LvL 77 and i have Shulk, Reyn, And Sharla. none of my other party members were used at all and i have 0 gear for them or spare weapons, their gear just looks good on them (old like makna forest old) I keep getting wiped and dont know what to do or how to win this fight. it seems unwinnable to me. i might be able to scrap together dunban to work if i sacrifice sharla but it probably would be worse. Thank you and any help is appreciated.
So with the announcement of X definitive edition I finally decided to sit down and play all the other Xenoblade games. Recently beat 1 DE, and jumped right into 2. A game I've tried playing twice before and never got past the start of chapter 3. Now I'm just after Vandham died, and Mythra came out.
It helps that I actually learned how to play the game, thanks to some guides that came across my YouTube time line
Honestly picking this game up right after 1 has made me enjoy it more then my first 2 attempts. The stark tonal difference between them really gets me. I'm sure 2 will kick me in the balls later (already has with Vandham dying), but it's just been so fun compared to 1.
1 was a very heavy game pretty much all the way through, with Shulk screaming bloody murder ever cutscene. Meanwhile Rex is just out here hanging out with friends, this game has me laughing so much.
Also I love Rex, but I can't help but laugh every time he screams. Coming off of Shulk's deep guttural rage, he sounds like a little kid who just had their toy taken away.
I've rather unfortunately sold some games and that did include my copies of this duology, but grew to want to pick this game up again recently with Xenoblade X on the horizon.
The content still exists on my switch, so I want to make sure I don't have to download anything else aside from the main game itself.
Please and thank you
My speaker system only supports CDs so I was wondering weather I’d be better off buying and importing the CDs to Australia or just buying them on iTunes and burning them to CDs. Are there any advantages with buying the CDs or does it really not matter which I get?
Every other post is just horny posting right now
i tried tying a string around the joystick with an oscillating fan but it wouldn’t work lol i have the tv in the other room on and it just barely reaches the gamepad wirelessly. she actually is enjoying it haha she’s amazing.
Hey guys just as the title says, I bought XC3 before and I really enjoyed the story and the characters but I had to sell my switch for an emergency so I only got up to chapter 2?. I want to get back into it but reading now I've been getting mixed opinions on how one needs to start with XC1. Would I still enjoy the game if I just went back to 3 and the DLC?
It's on sale and I wonder if there's any disadvantage on getting a digital version apart from not getting the physical copy which I like, but as long as I can save some $ I can take that.
I'm trying to grind earth crystals in forgotten cave for poison plus. Though I can only get one crystal for the mine. Then I wait for it to reset. But when? And is their any way to speed it up? (I'm playing on 3DS).
Hello guys, I love making impulse purchases and saw this video about XC2 Rex fathering 3 kids and wanted to play the game instantly to know about that lol. Would like to mention that XC2 also looked the most colorful based on some gameplay I saw a few times
Hated XC3 haven’t played XC1. Didn’t like XC3 due to the uninteresting story hook and got stuck on chapter 2. Would have tied to level up more and try again but as I said story hook wasn’t compelling me to go back and try again.
I just finished Future Redeemed and wow, Grandfather >!Ghondor!< honestly has had an extremely tragic life (spoilers below). Potentially the most tragic for a non-playable character.
!He is born (lowkey already tragic for him). :( !<
!His mother dies. Then his single father takes him into the middle of the woods and then disintegrates and dies; Ghondor is abandoned in the middle of the woods with a dying message to make friends. :( !<
!He has a child! :) His child gets married and has grandchildren :)!<
!His child and their spouse are killed. :( Also he's ostracized from the community for his research. :(!<
!One of his grandchildren becomes an avatar for an AI deity. :'(!<
!His dad comes back to life, and then kills him. !<
Any one of these by themselves is enough for a villain origin story, and this man faces multiple of them.
I can't think of others non-playable characters who've had a life full of tragedies, though maybe someone can comment otherwise.
I was working on my thesis relating to statistical chemical thermodynamics, and I wanted to add a reference to Xenoblade towards the end of my presentation, so I looked up my screenshots on N saying "I will give us equilibrium." Then, I saw that the full line was "I will give us equilibrium, a time unchanging... our eternity." It perfectly fits with my thesis dealing with nonequilibrium thermodynamics and the concept of the arrow of time!!
The ideas of the great scientist Ilya Prigogine forwards that living systems (well, self-organized systems, in general) operate far from equilibrium. Their nonequilibrium state is characterized by the arrow of time, a measure of irreversibility and, in a sense, allows us to distinguish the forward time from the reverse time of an event. (Although, the concept of time is still an open problem, but this is one idea.) In equilibrium systems, which N says he'll give to M, the arrow of time is 0, there's no directionality in them! It's so cool seeing these ideas fit into the overarching theme of base XC3 about having time move forwards again by destroying the current state of their world! Also! It's interesting to see that N did give that equilibrium to M by (unknowingly) killing her. In the end, they did end up dying willingly when Moebius was destroyed.
HOLD UP. I also just noticed the next line in Mio's monologue before the save prompt where she says "Time bears down on us without mercy." This again plays into concepts from statistical thermodynamics, particularly the second law! One remark by Atkins is that, "All change, and time's arrow, point in the direction of corruption. The experience of time is the gearing of electrochemical processes in our brains to this purposeless drift into chaos as we sink into equilibrium and the grave."
I LOVE THIS FUCKING GAME, MAN.
