Genuinely wondering but why do OOT on switch has pixelated dots on vertical left and right side of the tv? That's just not the same nostalgia experience 😩 like.. why? Would rather buy Wii and play OOT on it. Google didn't give any good results for it either.
Does anyone know of any high quality rips of the pre rendered backgrounds? The ones in oot reloaded are ai upscaled and look weird.
Has anyone ever counted all the NPC's you see in-game (including Gorons, Zora's, etc), to see what the entire population of Hyrule in-game is? It feels like there's maybe 50 different people max between all the species.
I'm stuck at this part of Ganons Tower. It says that I should press a to lift this rock but all Link does is roll. What do I have to do?
He’s played through at 4 or 5 with my heavy clue giving (dictating).
I try to be minimal because I want him to experience the excitement of solving things, but other times he’s just trying the same solution over and over and over again.
Currently in Forest temple. Idk if I should set a timer, or just gently encourage him where to go, or give him any hints or what.
I checked the 3DS and Switch versions also. It does the same thing so it's not a hardware limitation, there's lore here that I don't know
Nobody not even fanfiction has ever explored this concept so what if Link stumbled upon the Forest Temple exploring? How much would things change and if he and Saria decided to do some 'House Flipper' renovations to it a few years (3) prior to Ganon?
I’ve been playing through ocarina of time, trying to complete it for the first time, and I’ve got to the point after the water temple involving the well and the graveyard. I kept seeing the mentions of the eye of truth or something like that, but I was lost on how to get this. So I did some googling and found out that I was apparently supposed to return to the temple of time after the forest temple to learn the prelude of light. I don’t remember ever seeing any characters mention or specifically point me in this direction. Was there something that I just missed? Or are you supposed to just figure it out from the mentioning of the past in this part of the game?
Hey everyone,
I've been working on an Ocarina of Time characters remake for a bit, and I'm excited to share how it ended up with you all!
I am a long-time fan of LoZ in general, but I like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask the most (age I guess), so I took it upon myself to upscale the characters by using Photoshop, 3D Models and AI. (this time exclusively for Ocarina of Time)
Anyway, long story short, I spent a good chunk of time obsessing over some AI tools, Unreal Engine 5 Models and Photoshop, and let me tell you, AI still has a lot of ground to cover, but with Photoshop AND AI, I think I managed to do a good job.
What do you guys think?
What do you think? Worth it?
Also, if so, what character that isn't here would you most love to see?
I'm open to feedback and suggestions.
Thanks for watching and replying in advance!
P.S. I realize some people don't like AI, and I don't want to offend, but not only did I put in substantial work to modify the outputs, I also am not making Art, not profiting from this (it isn't monetized) and not selling anything, just giving nostalgia a means to be enjoyed.
EDIT: If you find RUTO strange, you aren't alone, it's because I did it 100% manually, and I'm a NOOB that is still learning the ropes.
i've been trying for quite some time and i can't get it, i've tried searching to see if i was doing anything wrong, but as far as i've seen its all fine
also i'm playing on the n64 switch online
Hi, I was struggling to play SOH with my Xbox 360 controller when I suddenly remembered that I had a N64 USB controller tucked away, so I pulled it out (pause) but to my surprise I was shocked to see that it isn't recognized by SOH, so I tried SOH with my Fake wired PS3 controller and fustratingly that worked
so as it stands both a XBOX 360 controller & a fake PS3 controller work, but an ''N64'' USB Controller doesnt work. & to be clear I checked the N64 controller with project64 & it works perfectly so it isn't broken!
However, hopefully Im wrong about this & someone knows how to get it to work, as I would love to use the original / fake N64 controller thanks
Tried to make it look a bit like an old strategy guide.
I’m getting judders and dips down to 57fps or whatever sometimes, generally it’s just not what I expected… I have a PC way beyond capable of running this at high refresh rates, and have tested that I can, but I always get these hitches nonetheless. Anyway to fix this sorta thing thru settings? Additionally I’m using the Switch N64 controller thru Bluetooth, does that affect anything? Thanks!
Im trying to play the built in Randomizer of SoH but when i click on generate randomizer it just makes a weird sound and nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix that?
I started playing oot on the switch and no major problems until I started the water temple I had beaten the forest, fire and ice cavern. I went into the water temple and got to ruto then the game crashed I restarted it and I was in the temple of time it restarted me to the last time I had opened the Nintendo 64 app I had been saving a lot and even in the water temple. Has this happened to anyone else? Can I do anything to get my progress back?
So, to preface, I have no idea if this would be a realistic thing at all, I have no experience in programming/coding, this is purely just conjecture. Having said that..
Why don't we have a way for rom hacks to be distributed in a way similar to how DOOM .wad files are? I was thinking of this recently and this idea has been stuck in my head. Especially with the advent of PC Ports of games like OoT and SM64. This would essentially make it possible to just drag and drop any desired fan game into one of these ports and play it, without the need for the developers to explicitly add support for individual rom hacks. Now you might be thinking "Why would this be superior to just loading these rom hacks in Project64 or something?" I can think of many reasons.
My question is, what is stopping something like this from being created? I do understand at least that something like this would upend the delivery system and possibly compromise console compatibility, but a solution could be to make both a version that you can drag and drop into a port of your choosing on PC, and a standard patch for your N64 rom that you can use on your everdrive or whatever. I just think the system DOOM uses for their fan games in particular is very interesting and very convenient, so why shouldn't something similar be expanded for games like Super Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time considering that there are thousands of SM64 Rom Hacks and dozens of OoT Rom Hacks?
This is just my pitch. If someone in the rom hacking community finds this idea interesting and thinks its feasible, or if my idea is very unrealistic, by all means, I'd love feedback.
