    About Teruya

    I've been re-reading the current arc and I'm confused about the situation where Teruya gets a bunch of point from the A-rank judges because she gets fired up by the "please" she asked Mizukami to ask her... It's cute and I can understand why you might give her a point for being positive but I don't understand the degree to which they are making it a big deal. Ex: "Ah. So that's her move", "maybe we are so much in the lead because we got a bunch of A-rank points from Teruya's actions"... I feel like I'm missing something. Is asking "please" some kind of japanese kink?

    Chika Lead Bullet

    This is a followup post. I asked why didn't Chika hide 3 buildings away from Ninomiya and shoot upwards a lead hound since no one has come up with a counter other than hitting chika. Several people have countered as to why a Chika Lead Hound against Ninomiya would have failed and the question has not been answered to my satisfaction. So here are the flaws.

    Too far away:Chika at any distance would mean the Hound would be dodged. But a Hound that curved up from behind a building to then travel parallel or at a slight down angle hovering the roof would not be seen until just passing the while roof.

    Can't shoot through walls:Curve over the building(see above)

    Not in position(she was sniping):She could have taken that time inside of repositioning to a sniping location to come close. If I am right lead hound has no counter, she could even join as a shooter even closer.Lead Hound seems overpowered if you have a teamate and you have high trion.

    Even if they were all hit and immobalized, ninomiya could go full attack and the other two shield:If this could work, Ninomiya might as well lay down with his squad and sunbath while fighting tamakoma if being together meant they were invincible. And they need not split and chase chika if they could take being fully immobalized once they confirmed she only used lead bullets.

    I do mean this as an open question. The simplest answer was Osamu didn't think of this which is fair. But I'm happy to hear any flaws in this plan. Lead Hound/Viper seems unbeatable with teamates if you have high trion is what I'm getting at.

    Why no Defensive Chika?

    How come the anime or manga never explores Chika's trion when it comes to defensive triggers? Sure there are moments where character remark about her shield being solid when she is fleeing but that seems to be about it. If she can turn meteor into a nuke shouldn't her shields be nigh impenetrable? If so why don't they exploit this more? Escudo would not only help her stall people who has spotted her by blocking their path ways as seen with Hyuse's usage, it would also add onto her terrain alteration utility by not only being able to remove terrain but add terrain as well. It seems to me that her limitless amount of Trion seems way underutilized being used as a sniper that does a few shots every now and then. You would think that a conscientious objector's first instinct would be to bolster defense, especially if they're constantly attracting trion monsters, but that never seems to be the case with Chika. Limiting her role to pocket cannon really limits her utility in my opinion.

    Why don't squads wear camo?

    Considering the strategy with the black kogetsu worked so well, why wouldn't squads do something similar and make their outfits grey to blend in with buildings? Like they can freely customize trion bodies, so I don't get why they couldn't. It seems like a complete disadvantage not to, especially for that one squad that wears entirety hot pink.

    Why do melee trigger weapons glow?

    When Murakami made his kogetsu black it made me wonder.

    WHY AREN'T THEY DARK TO BEGIN WITH?!

    Scorpion, Kogetsu, Raygust are glowing yet Suzunari prime are the first ones to do this? Did no one else in border including the engineers think having a glow stick makes them easier to see in the dark?

    Why did ninomiya lose?

    It was good writing but thinking back, a shooter shouldn’t be as affected by trion leakage when they have as much trion as ninomiya? Losing a limb shouldn’t affect his bullets like it would to a blade or gun user. Why did he end up dying to kuga? Also side curiosity, why do you think chika didn’t try to get close and use lead hound? No one had come up with a counter to that yet. She could have shot up from three buildings behind ninomiya squad and it’s hard to see how they would block that.

    hyuse's character points with border trigger.

    Hyuse already have character points with lambyris but he still doesn't have with his border triggers, because of this i wanted to guess more or less how much points he would have in each category.

    Trion : 18 - Nothing to change here;

    attack : 10 - Ninomya's attack is 12 so i think that Hyuse would've a lower point since ninomya's attack focus in raw power while hyuse's is more tatical;

    defense support: 12 - Because of his high trion and use of escudo he can defend himself and allies from multiple enemies at the same time, a exemple of this would be the 7 vs 1 that he survived for a long time by defending himself with his escudos;

    Mobility: 7 - He can use his escudos to catapult him like he did in the mall where he and Yuma went to the last floor in seconds using his escudo, but it isn't as versatile as a grasshopper;

    Skill: 8 - He is able to use his border trigger with high skill, with his viper being compared with nasu's;

    Range: 4 - Same range as Nasu probably;

    command: 6 - nothing to change here too;

    special tatics: 5 - Hyuse has 10 points on this category with lambyris, but i don't think he would have the same with border trigger since his strong magnetic metals are very versatile as a wepon, shield, and can immobilize his opponents. Honestly i am still a bit confuse about how this category works;

    Total : 70

    If you guys would give different points in any category i am open to other opnions. Also please forgive my grammar mistakes, english is not my firt languege.

    Can we expect a season 4 of world trigger some point in the future?

    When talking to people about a season 4 prior to Netflix acquiring the dubbing rights to season 2 and 3 a lot of people cited the reasoning of us not getting a season 4 was in part due to the fact that a library data base got the rights to dubbing season 3 and the rights of the anime were in such a weird place. Plus the fact it was notoriously hard to access this library data base. Now that it’s become a lot easier to see the dub of season 3 on Netflix. Do you think we can expect to finally get a season 4 to the anime. It seems from what I’ve read Netflix is the sole rights owner to the dub of season 2 and 3. Seeing as season 2 dub that was previously on crunchy roll was removed. Do you think now that the rights are In a better place we can expect a season4? Or do you think that’s still a dream in a distant land?

    Hyuse might be a better strategist

    Because of his insane battle iq Hyuston might be a better strategist than Osamu

    In round 4 of the rank wars Hyuse came up with the same strategy as Osamu to regroup the team and flood the arena by blowing the river banks and then in round 5 he was also able to see through Osamu's wire trick/strategy.

    In round 7 he was able to predict all of Azuma's moves, both Hyuse and Osamu came to the same conclusion that the dummy beacons Azuma had set up were a decoy but Osamu still allowed his emotions to cloud his judgement, Hyuse even called him out saying that he wasn't thinking straight.

    Hyuse was even able to deduce that Azuma would try and use Osamu's overprotective nature towards Chika to try and lead them into making a bad decision, in the final act of round 7 Huyse was then again able to predict that Azuma had laid some kind of trap for him leaving half of his bullets behind just in case. After the match was over Osamu was even surprised at how many steps ahead Hyuse was thinking by not using his Viper.

    Before and during the final round Hyuse constatly pressured Chika until he drove her into a corner and she had no choice but to shoot which eventially lead to her teams victory which also shows signs of manipulation.

    !Even in recent chapters while everyone was scratching their heads Hyuse was able to see through Osamus strategy that he came up with for Suwa squad showing that he's at least equal or superior to Osamu when ot comes to strategy.!<

    World Trigger TTRPG/DnD based system.

    I know its been done here before but this is my version of a WT TTRPG, I started before the selection arc so it's not based off of that. There's an old post on here that links the discord of the system I based mine of off, but it's changed a lot since then.

    My goal was to let players be able to do anything that you see in the show and I think I've done that pretty well. The system is slightly tested and ready for rank wars/pvp, and I'm currently working on trion soldiers, release date n/a (I have a busy life and work on it in my spare time.). Oh, and while this is dnd based, it's strayed far from dnd and is its own thing.

    Any and all feedback is welcome and encouraged!

    A complaint with the Rank Wars

    Despite the amount of thought that clearly went into designing the system for the Rank Wars, as showcased in some of the special assignments in the away mission test, there is, in my opinion, one major design error still present.

    Namely, this is the tier system for the B-rank Rank Wars. To recap, the 21 B-rank teams are separated into three tiers: upper, middle and lower, deciding their matchups in the Rank Wars. Each squad can only be matched with squads from their tier, and a notably good or bad performance in said tier will promote or demote them in tier, if possible.

    The problem with this system is that squads in the lower tiers earn the same points, for battling easier opponents. A match between Ninomiya, Kageura and Ikoma squads yields the same points as a match between Suwa, Kakizaki and Arafune squads. This, in my opinion gives an unfair advantage to new squads and squads on the bottom of their tiers.

    First, New squads, such as Tamakoma-2, are placed at the bottom tier regardless of the individual members' abilities or experience. Teams like Tamakoma-2, with skilled, agents such as Kuga or Hyuse, will be matched against teams like Chano squad. This will give them a notable head start (8 points in the case of Tamakoma-2's first match).

    (Granted, this is somewhat offset by the point bonus that squads are assigned at the beginning of the Rank Wars, based on and reversely proportional to their standing in the last season.)

    I also want to note that this is in no way a hypothetical. In fact, this is exactly how Tamakoma-2 manages to climb to the top tier in only three matches. Earning 8, 6 and 4 points in the first three matches fully offsets the point bonuses of all but the top three squads. The strongest agents that Tamakoma-2 would have encountered by that point would be Nasu and Murakami, whereas said top three teams would be encountering Ninomiya, Kageura, Ikoma, Oji, Azuma, etc.

    Second, squads at the edge, and more specifically, the bottom of their tiers, such as (currently) Nasu squad (top tier) and Kakizaki squad (middle tier), might be demoted by tier after even one poor performance from them, or a standout performance by a lower squad. For example, if Kakizaki squad (13th), performs poorly against Yuba squad (8th) and Suzunari-1 (9th), they might be demoted to bottom tier. However, this is actually an advantage. Kakizaki squad (15th) is now potentially fighting Tokiwa (21st) and Mamiya squads (20th). After a match notably easier than any of their previous ones, they will not only return to the middle tier, but potentially a position higher than the one they were demoted from. For this reason, the edges of the tiers would be fairly chaotic, with at least 2 squads constantly switching between top and middle tier, and another 2 switching between middle and bottom tier. In comparison, the squads commonly in the middle of their respective tiers, such as Ikoma, Oji and Azuma squads in the top tier, would have a much harder time moving up or down.

    This means that getting demoted in tier is advantageous in all but the final round of the season. This, in turn, means that, for the relevant squads, which tier they take on in any given round, especially the final one, comes down to luck. In other words, due to the dynamic nature of the tier edges, the standings at the end of the season might not accurately reflect the abilites of the squads within them.

    This is not a hypothetical either. In fact, while Yuba squad (7th at the time) struggled to earn so much as 2 points in their final match against the first, second and fourth rated squads in the top tier, Nasu squad (8th at the time) overtook them, having to only defeat the 11th and 12th ranked squads in the middle tier.

    Further to my point, after their one-sided loss in the 4th round, Tamakoma-2 only needed one middle tier match (against Kakizaki and Katori squads), yielding 7 points, to return to top tier. In comparison, Ninomiya squad, the winners of the 4th round, even with it being a 4 team battle, could only muster 3 points.

    If we compare the amount of points that Tamakoma-2 earned in the lower and middle tiers (4 matches), whether due to their being a new squad or dropping out the bottom of their tier, to the points earned in the top tier (4 matches), the totals are:

    Lower and middle tier: 25 pts. (all before Hyuse joined)

    Top tier: 17 pts. (5 before Hyuse joined)

    Clearly, despite their impressive performances even in the top tier, Tamakoma-2 gained a notable advantage from being able to fight in the lower tiers as much as they did.

    Anyways, what do you all think?

    TL;DR: The tier system for the B-rank Rank Wars gives an unfair advatage to some squads.

    Ship talk (once in a while ✌️)

    Does anyone here have a rare ship? I want to know.

    Note: Please do ignore this post if you find ship talk uncomfortable. 👍

    Are there people here aside from me who ship Osamu and Chika? I'm quite shocked it's an unpopular pair despite the two characters being part of the four main characters. I've been looking for some Osamu x Chika contents (such as edits or threads) but it's actually funny because there's none while I've seen at least two Chika x Yuma contents. Of course there were tons of Chika x Yuzuru contents. I've also not seen people talk about their awesome friendship at least. If anyone knows an Osamu x Chika enjoyer, please introduce me to them. If you're someone who don't find Osamu x Chika a good pair, is there any particular reason for that?

    I'm curious about everyone's ship. Who do you ship and why?

    Something that makes me feel uneasy about WT's current arc

    One thing I love about WT is its consistency. It only has few plot holes and retcons. But one major thing that bothers me in the current arc is the reduction of one of the most interesting side characters introduced, and that is Oji.

    Oji is supposed to be a strategist. He was introduced to be someone who could intellectually rival Osamu. The away mission test, especially the battle simulations, has been presented in a way that would make it the best stage for strategy competition. I had expected Oji to give Osamu a hard time but my expectation was crushed. I had to come up with my own explanation to make sense of things.

    Aside from Oji, there's another strategist who's not taking the front lines and it is Asuma. Ninomiya took the lead and had implied that he wants to use the test to teach the young agents, Chika and Ema. It is understandable that Asuma would step back and not use his strategizing skills in order to give way to whatever Ninomiya is trying to do.

    However, compared to Asuma, Oji is a squad captain in the temporary squad which makes it harder for me to understand why his strategizing skills is suddenly out of the spotlight and he is even losing. The explanation I came up with is that Oji is not only disinterested in joining the away mission but he also doesn't care about money. Otherwise, Oji has not been as intelligent as Osamu to begin with and his introduction was simply exaggerated.

    Edit: My concern has been answered in the comments/replies. Oji canonically doesn't prioritize acing phase 1, and he is satisfied that their group is about having fun.
