Goalie Power Rankings: Nov. 19, 2024

    1. Pyotr Kochetkov CAR. Not the prettiest save percentage at .904% but his 9-2 record is. Kochetkov and the Hurricanes keep rolling as the season goes along.

    2. Jacob Markstrom NJ. Markstrom and New Jersey are continuing to be threats. Now with a 8-5-1 under his belt, and a .907% which is the exact same as my last post.

    3. Jonathan Quick NYR. Despite only playing 4 games, Quick is undefeated with 2 SO’s and an absurd 0.71 GAA and .970%.  This legend looked to be on his last legs a few seasons ago, but leaving LA has been the best thing to happen for his career. I have to put Quick on here for the elite numbers he is putting up despite all the odds and setbacks that have been against him in the past while. This future 1st ballot HHOFer most likely won’t stay on this list for long due to the small amount of games he plays so I had to add him while I had the chance.

    4. Ilya Sorokin NYI. A slight decrease from my last list. Now 4-4-3 Sorokin has been solid despite the Islanders not performing at their best yet, he still has a .913% and 2.70 GAA. Imagine if he was on an elite team…

    5. Logan Thompson WSH. Thompson has finally lost his first game for the Caps now 8-0-1, however, he is still undefeated in regulation. His numbers are improving with .913%. Maybe it’s time Canada starts to consider him more for the 4 nations faceoff??

    6. Igor Shesterkin NYR. I jinxed since him in my last post, Shesterkin will climb the ranks again. Despite some bad losses in recent, he still holds a .914%, just a minor bad stretch for him.

    7. Juuse Saros NSH. at 5-8-2, Juuse still has some elite numbers; his .914% is still among the elite despite the Preds still slumping.

    8. Jake Oettinger DAL. Otter has been consistent, now 9-3 with sharp numbers to go with it, playing on a power house team does help these stats, but Jake stands tall when he has to.

    9. Cam Talbot DET. Talbot is off to a good start with his new team. Despite the 5-4 OT loss to the Sharks of all teams, Talbot still holds a record of 5-3-2 with a .920% and 2.67 GAA. Not bad for goalie people have been writing off time and again.

    10. Joey Daccord SEA. Daccord is now 8-3-1 which is very impressive but even more so on a team that doesn’t look super playoff bound. His play could be a difference maker on whether or not the Kraken make a run.

    11. Lukas Dostal ANA. With John Gibson back, Dostal is bound to see a drop in starts, however, he still has a .924% despite being on the Ducks and having a losing record of 5-6-2, very impressive.

    12. Dustin Wolf CGY. It's still early but Wolf has improved to a 6-2-1 record and a .921% since my last post, including getting his first NHL shutout. We’ll see how long these great numbers last, as I and many others expect Calgary to break at some point. In addition to my disappointment, Wolf is not Canadian as I thought maybe he was... just what we need another potential superstar U.S. goalie. Dark times for the Canadian net.

    13. Andrei Vasilevskiy TB. Vasilevskiy has had quite the week for the Lightning skyrocketing in goalie power rankings, and not to mention becoming the fastest goalie in NHL history to record his 300th win. Now with a record of 8-5-1 and .920% he looks to have found his game amongst the elite of the game once again.

    14. Anthony Stolarz TOR. Stolarz has continued his hot streak in TOR now 7-3-2 continuing with a .927% and GAA of 2.18. So far so good for Leafs Nation, but it seems a little too good to be true right? It just FEELS like something will happen to the Leafs kind of like the NY Jets or something, but as for the time being Stolarz has been nothing short of elite.

    15. Filip Gustavsson MIN. Gustavsson and the Wild continue to roll despite many people counting out Minny before the season began. Now 8-3-2 with a .927% it feels like we can consider Gustavsson a true elite goalie in the league.

1.Connor Hellebuyck WPG. Nothing has changed. Now 12-2 Hellebuyck and the Jets keep trucking…. Well they lost 2 straight so maybe this is where they come back down to earth a little. However, Hellebuyck has collected his league leading 3rd SO and still maintains a .926%, and we’re just a week away from U.S. Thanksgiving which means the regular season has almost hit its 1st quarter.

Goalies left off from last week: Lankinen VAN, Forsberg OTT.

Honorable mentions: Montembeault MTL, Mrazek CHI, Bobrovsky FLA, Blackwood SJ

Quarter of the way into the season. Which nhl head coach is on the hot seat?

My vote goes to Derek Lalonde of the Detroit red wings. Team looks like absolute unadulterated garbage.

    Is PWHL any good?

Still a newbie to all this..

I saw online there is a women's hockey league with 6 teams

Is it any good is it successful etc.. Thought?

We have the women's football league in England same sort of thing.. It isn't on the same level as the mens but it pulls in big crowds and getting more sponsorship etc

    Thoughts please 😊👏👌
