Which team has the better chance at beating the Rags?
The good news is that 89% of the fanbase voted Anti-Rangers over Anti-Hurricanes or equal hate (root AGAINST series winner) after worry from some posts and playoff history that there would be a split in the fanbase. The bad news is well we already know what that is.
Although we all rooted for the Capitals in round 1 it wasn't a surprise what happened but we all expected a good chance that Carolina could beat the rags in round 2. It sounds like we can't beat them, the Islanders can't beat them but the rags can't LOSE to them! Last year Carolina was the first team to lose every game by 1 goal when they were swept in the ECFs against Florida. This year they could pull it off again but a round earlier against the dreaded RAGS!
Someone needs to KNOW how to beat them! Who is up for the task?
EDIT: Due to the poor reception I need to mention that this post is NOT about obsessing on the rangers it's about COMPLETELY ENDING the MISERY of 23-24 despite being nearly a month removed from the last Devils game. The rags winning it all would make this a TRUE NIGHTMARE after all the preseason predictions and doom and gloom from rangers fans for the near future after we beat them last year! https://www.nhl.com/news/stanley-cup-predictions-for-2023-24-nhl-season

New fan
Hey everyone, so I got into hockey this year and decided I wanted to follow the Devils. I love the name and colors, which is basic as all hell but it's gotta start somewhere. Is there anything I absolutely need to know as a Devils fan? Respect to all the die hards and lifelong fans, hopefully you're welcoming of a latecomer to the party.
Edit: I feel like the easiest way to reply to you all is with an edit. You guys have all been super welcoming and informative and it's exactly what I hoped for! I cannot wait for next season and to chat with all of you. FUCK THE RANGERS AND FUCK THE FLYERS

How long for D core?
Seamus, Lhughes and Nemec.
How long until theyre all impressive NHLers?
Can we wait that long? Should we sell one or more because our forward core will peak sooner?
Is there even such thing as too many good young defensemen?
Just curious what you guys think about that situation.

I know this is the Devils thread, but… officially a little concerned about a Rangers Cup
I truly wasn’t very concerned about a Rangers cup run until right now. I know they’re better than last year because their bottom six actually contributes and Shesterkin is as strong as ever but I thought we’d see some even strength issues exposed by Carolina and that’s barely happened.
They’re staring at potentially another very short series and that would do wonders for them next round. I still think Florida is the best team in the east but this is breaking perfectly for NYR
EDIT: appreciate the analysis from many of you. Enjoy the discourse from other devils fans regarding this series and the others in the playoffs.
For the “I don’t give a shit” crowd, stop lying to yourselves. You can’t pretend last year didn’t mean more because of the opponent. And it doesn’t make you a better fan for pretending to not care so save the self righteousness.

Friedman on Berube
Friedman goes into that there’s some potential disagreements internally about Berube. He specifically says if it was a slam dunk this would be done already. So it might not be Berube waiting out Toronto but it might be more on our end.
