This is actually kinda sad what the fuck happend to him? What happend to his hockey IQ? He never left himself exposed like that in the 9 years he played for us
Granted, a lot of other players have only played 2 games so far, while Slovakia just played it’s 3rd.
Man oh Man. Pospisil was unbelievable in the Slovakia vs USA game. He was a thorn in the side of the Americans all game (especially brady tkachuk) and he tallied 3 assists. This kid is looking great in big moments so far. He was also on the ice for the overtime goal and it looks like they trusted him to skate the puck into the zone and set up the winning shot. If he can stop getting suspended he is just what we need to make this team hard to play against.
With the boys out golfing and nothing else going on as far as the Flames are concerned, I thought this would be a good time to ask (especially with the spotlight on some other fan bases at the moment).
As much as it’s possible to put bias aside, what would your honest assessment of our fan base be? What is it like attending the Dome for other fans, what kind of reputation do our fans have in opposing stadiums etc. Interested to hear if your friends that support other teams have commented on Flames fans.
Seeing some of the comments made by Boston fans about intentionally injuring Bennet really shocked me, not because he is a past Flame obviously, but because that’s really crossing the line. I really appreciate that we don’t really have the fans that would say/support comments like that.
Interested to hear your thoughts and I appreciate all of ya!
Just attended CAN - DEN game at IIHF Worlds 2024 in Prague, gave the biggest support I possibly could to the breadman, had a couple beers with Flames fans, weather was good too. On top of that, Pospi got 2 goals for the Slovaks during a pretty decent game so all around pretty good day to be a Flames fan abroad.
All of that aside, the fans of Denmark in the arena (which were a shit ton I kid you not) had some solid chants going, but we just never seemed to get any vocal support outside of the occasional grunt or celebration and high-fiving everyone around you.
Long story short, do we, as Team Canada fans, have any decent chants to kick off? As I said, didn’t hear much going off in the arena and would like to do something about that next game

We now know that the Flames are picking ninth. As I have opined in the past, it really doesn't matter where you pick outside of a certain cluster. Drafting eighth versus ninth doesn't really result much of a difference. Now this year, the Flames may care if they have their eyes set on Tij Iginla because it sounds like his stock is rising. If you look back at the last 12 years, 11 of those players played in the NHL this year and the group is pretty good. I'd go as far as saying, really, really good! If the Flames don't F this up, and the trend continues, they are going to get a great player at nine.
Ps... It had me starting to think ninth might be a sweet spot because it is outside of the spotlight and before you get into the players that are tougher to distinguish between each other. This would be an interesting study. Let's say this is true... then you might want to trade into the ninth spot. I have to do some more analysis and I plan to look at each of the draft positions to understand this potential strategy more.
See the list below to see this year's performance of each of the past 12 draft picks. I've sorted the list by 23' / 24' point totals but the data includes Y2Y - P/GP DifferentialY2Y - P/GP Differential, TOI, Goals, Assists, and SOG.
New Adidas Blasty pick up. Probably going to get Coleman on here eventually.
Kinda curious about the fanbases thoughts. We lost Hamilton but we did enjoy years of Hanifin and Lindy. Did we win? Was it a draw? How did we come out on the trade?
E- apparently we have several picks left from this trade? I say we won then
This question is inspired by a clip from Flamesnation Barn Burner Podcast where they discuss about whether or not the Flames should steer away from drafting American players (Link to video: https://youtu.be/w_WbmguItZg?si=EDmC3Ap9s8MNZctq)
As a Flames fan I don’t want another Gaudreau/Tkachuk situation where high-end non-Canadian players leave once their contracts are up; personally I would focus picking prospects: Canadians > Scandinavians=Russians=West European > Americans
Also is it a valid question to ask NHL draft prospects about their willingness to play for a Canadian team?
I don’t want our team to draft players who are clearly not interested in playing for us (ahem* Adam Fox *cough)
Comment down below your thoughts and whether you think I’m being too xenophobic/paranoid about American prospects not being too keen on Canada…
Thanks for Zadorov flames!
At the beginning of overtime for the Rangers-Canes game, they flashed the stat of the all-time playoff overtime record for both teams, so I decided to look up Calgary's record. Calgary is tied with NJ for the worst all-time overtime record in the playoffs by winning percentage. Calgary's home record is particularly bad. 8-17 or a 0.320 winning percentage.

It's tough to be a Flames fan sometimes, but there is statistical evidence to back-up the heartbreak.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy
Cheering for the canucks over the oilers is a no brainer for me. Zadorov and Lindholm over Perry and Kane is enough for me. Not to mention their fans, Louie debrusk and the rest of the scum on their roster. Tonight’s game brought nothing but smiles to me. Classic Edmonton playoff meltdown. Fuck the Oilers.
Anybody else here watch on AHLTV? I just turned the game on and selected watch with Visitor Audio... no sound at the moment?
Does anyone have a solid grasp on what's happening with our first round pick next year? I remember that there were six million conditions on it.
I had a scary thought that we might trade Markstrom this off season, finish bottom five, and then need to give that pick to Montreal.
Is that a possibility? Is it a lottery protected pick? Can we send Florida's pick instead? Does Florida still have that pick or does Philly have it not from the Giroux trade?
If anyone has a clear understanding of where things sit for the 2025 draft, please enlighten me!
