I’m only 20 so this was the first Boston championship I remember clearly. (The Red Sox in 2007 and the Celtics in 2008 I was 4 for and have vague memories of).

I had four days left of the second grade after game 7 so not much was happening but I couldn’t sleep after my bedtime which was right around when game 7 began. I kept my mom up until 11 because I thought my dad would be upset I was still awake. Then she had me go downstairs to watch the end of the game with him, and he obviously wasn’t upset.

He was telling me about how the last time they won he was 3 years old as the clock ran out, so he was also experiencing his first Stanley Cup with me. I didn’t know that much about hockey so during the last few minutes I was asking him “how can you be sure if it’s 4-0” and after the game “why would Mark Recchi retire after this” and I remember him tenderly explaining it to me and us hugging as the clock hit zero.

So yeah while Malcolm Butler, 28-3, and the others are all iconic, they don’t hold a candle to the 2011 Bruins and I hope to experience a cup as an adult.

HOLY SHIT, I have about had it with half of you. I was at the game last night and I've never been so happy to have bought standing room tickets. There were 4 or 5 guys in front of us the first two periods that were DETERMINED to have a bad time. Bruins had a couple rushes and the only time they opened their mouths was when the puck exited the attacking zone, completely ignoring the fact we almost scored 3 times, as if they expected the Bruins to have an offensive drive for a full 20 minutes every period. We moved to a different area and the vibes were better. Bruins Scored two but it was too late.

Now, I know that what we do as fans doesn't usually mean anything to what happens on the ice, but when you're at the game, it really can. Coach Montgomery praised the gardens energy in the 3rd lifting the teams spirits to try and mount a comeback. The garden was quiet for a lot of the 1st and 2nd period.

Teams used to HATE to play in Boston.

Throwing trash on the ice happened because that ATROCIOUS call on Lauko, I get that. Booing your team is never the right move. How are you going to boo a team you love? How are you going to get mad at a team for not having the energy when you're actively taking away that energy?? Why would you pay upwards of $300 and come DETERMINED to have a bad time???

Negativity has no purpose. It helps absolutely no one. The last playoff game I went to before coach Montgomery was against the Capitols and the Bruins won that game. It was the loudest game I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. From start to finish, loud as fuck. THAT IS THE ENERGY WE NEED. THAT IS HOW YOU SUPPORT YOUR TEAM.

If you want to mope and get down on yourself and OUR team, STAY HOME. Be a negative Nancy somewhere the fuck else. I've fucking had it.

At the opening drop, you could see Marchand ask Barkov "Wanna go" and Barkov shook his head no. That is completely gutless, especially after Pasta (a complete non-fighter) accepted the challenge from Tkachuk, a guy with fighting experience. Marchand vs. Barkov is a similar level to Tkachuk vs. Pasta so for the captain of the Panthers to say no is just gutless, cowardly and embarrassing for the entire organization.
