Hello there! To anyone who doesn't know, I'm the creator of the original NYC Pizza Rats and Toronto Trash Pandas logos that came out last season before the PWHL announced the official names. I thought it would be fun to create some silly alternate logos for each of the teams so we can have a funny subculture/lore to add to the fun and historic nature of being OG fans of this league.
I had posted a poll on r/PWHL to tell Ottawa fans that I'm working on their design next. I got 32 total votes, with Ottawa fans choosing Cobra Chickens (meme-speak for Canada Geese) as their alternate mascot. I had already completed most of the design (see the included sketch), but felt it was missing something to make it really great. So I posted another update on r/PWHL to get suggestions from the community of Ottawa fans about what could make the design better. Unfortunately this post was removed twice for being self-promotion and I was banned from posting or commenting there anymore. So I'm re-posting here! Hopefully third time's the charm :)
So far the suggestion that stood out to me from the now-deleted posts was to make the Cobra Chicken into a goalie. If any more Ottawa fans have other suggestions as to how I can turn the included design sketch into something that has the same giggle-factor as the Pizza Rats and the Trash Pandas designs, please leave your comments below!

Hey all,
I am getting into hockey. I am becoming a fan of UW's women's hockey team and am trying to watch their games. I am confused if I get the Big Ten Big+ Monthly Pass does this mean I can watch the live games or no? Or do I have to wait a day until after?
It says for the montly pass "live streaming of hundreds of non-televised Big Ten Games." Is the women's hockey considered to be televised I assume? I just wanted a clarification...
Sorry I am new to this and do not have the more expnesive cable/hulu option to get access to Big Ten.
Thanks!

Hi there I'm new to this forum and new to reddit all together so I hope it's ok to post this but I've been getting into women's hockey in Massachusetts near Boston where I go to school and I thought to ask some questions so I can get more involved.
First, I’d love to hear any suggestions about how y'all support local teams if you can’t commit to attending games often. Personally, as a student I can’t commit as much as I want to (though I’ll probably drop it all to see the beanpot this year) but I really believe in showing my support in some way. My other question is what players, either on Mass college teams or the Boston Fleet, should I keep an eye on? I want to really understand the sport on a level deeper than knowing the rulebook.
🎉 I'm giving away a full base set of 2024 Upper Deck PWHL Showcase cards (16 cards total).

Hi there,
New to the forum here. Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but as a fellow lady hockey player I figured this might be?
So, my issue is that I’m nervous about how nasty my gear is getting, particularly the jill. I try to wash my base layers every time, but i’m not sure about the jill. What do you guys do? Do you have multiples of the jill strap? Do you wash the jill after every skate?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I (15F) started playing hockey at 13, I was already a figure skater so the transition was easy. I've poured countless hours into this sport and am decent. I am first year U18 this year, and last year I played high tier house as it was the only team available to me. I am one of the best and fastest skaters on my team and constantly put out on penalty kill and power play. Last year I tried out for a U18AAA girls team (theres only 5 in my province and only two are within a 1-4 hour drive of me) just for fun, knowing I wasn't going to make it. I kept up with the competition fine but obviously didn't stand out or excel. Right now I'm just playing on the same team as last year, we just moved up to U18. For spring hockey there is only 2 girls teams in my city and both didn't have try outs, they just picked the same girls from last year. Luckily I made the U18AA team as a practice player, no games or tournaments tho. Its a good opportunity and I am very grateful for it, albeit a bit frustrated. I know some girls on the team who I am a lot better then and it's hard to see them get the opportunities just because they know the coach. In fact, last year at tryouts I saw a bunch of the girls hugging the evaluators. My question for you guys is, what should I do? Is it too late for me to get good enough to play AA or AAA hockey? How do I make these connections with the coaches?

"On May 14, 2023, I published my first @womenshockeycards post on Instagram. The post featured a picture of an autographed 1992 Classic Manon Rheaume card that Rheaume had sent me as a thank you for promoting her children’s book, ‘Breaking the Ice: The True Story of the First Woman to Play in the National Hockey League.’ At the time, it was the only women’s card in my collection.
It was then that I realized I had thrown myself into the deep end of the pool without really knowing how to swim."

Hi all!
A question for Canadians: I’d like to watch more NCAA women’s hockey this year. TSN+ has streamed Frozen Four games in the past. But it doesn’t appear they are carrying any games so far this season.
Where are other Canadians watching? Thanks!
