Establishing and utilizing an offensive mind in our defensemen. Do y’all remember the last couple weeks Lalonde was coach? I swear our D didn’t do ANYTHING when we had the puck in the zone. They just sat there on the blue line would not pinch or swap with a forward to make a play on the net. When Daryl Suter (another coach I would’ve liked to hire) coached the Flames, he ran some of the best offensive cycles and set plays with his D pairs that I had ever seen. Hanifin and Andersson were on a clinic game in game out. And they were highly successful.
Michigan State hockey (other league I know) is top 3 in the nation because of their high scoring defenseman. It’s what you need to do to have success in this era of hockey. No matter what league you are in. And we are seeing that improve before our eyes. Witnessing Seider take rippers from the blue line filled a hole that I didn’t know was there. Regardless of that, Raymond is on some datsyuk level right now the passes I see this dude make are like how did you see him? Go Wings!

Detroit in 2025: 10-3-1 (.750%)
Blues in 2019: 7-4-1 (.625%)
If it wasn't 1am I'd try to go through to compare strength of schedule, but I don't think any of us would argue that Detroit had an easy path in January. 2 teams that were in the cup final last year, playoff teams, and divisional rivals that we're directly battling with for a spot who are all also playing hot lately.

With how good the team is playing does it continue, next level, or drop off?

Someone tossed it before the start of the 3rd ✌️
Mods, can this be a new rule please? We're all already sick of being blasted by the betting ads during games, can we at least ban betting in the sub?
Looking pretty good under The Toddfather!
We talk about how much we love Ken and Mick and even Ozzy and Keats a lot but watching him solo the pregame show tonight just wanted to shout out Trev always holding it down 🙌
As the title says. Not really wanting to talk about how close some of the obvious ones are (we know cossa will be up in ab 2 years, ASP in the next season or two etc), wanting to know more about Buchnelikov, Lombardi, Hanas, Wallinder, Mazur, Savage, Finnie and any other notable guys i’m forgetting.
Mark and Marty have a conversation about their father, youth hockey and hockey day in Houston, found this to be a great insight into their lives. Seem like super guys.

I am not very smart so can yall please explain this. Here is my surface level examination. This season, Mo Seider (for reference), Jake Walman, and Shayne Ghostbear are respectively ranked 17th, 19th and 20th by overall points from defensemen. I understand there were rumors about Walman's personality, but it seems to me that could have been managed given his potential. With us having regressed defensively this season (in my opinion), why did we make these moves? Thanks, and God bless.

I know his stats have not jumped off of the page(28gp - 5g, 10pts), but from the games I've watched in the SHL this season, Michael Brandsegg-Nygaard is more than capable of handling himself physically; which I think puts him in a more "pro ready" position than most players his age.
The main reason I wanted to get opinion is because I noticed he did not dress for Skelleftea last game. Could he be on his way to NA with all the movement between rosters lately? Or is it more likely he's just a HS for Skelleftea or has been demoted in EU?
Thoughts??
I am about to move to Dallas and am a lifelong Red Wings fan. Was hoping to find a place I could catch some games with fellow fans of the Winged Wheel. Thanks!
