I was a very casual hockey observer until 2 years ago when I decided to become a season ticket holder. Now I have lots of questions. I beg you, Reddit universe, don’t hurt me.

Right now, I’m trying to understand the economics of the Moose trade. Specifically, I read that we will have room under the salary cap after this summer.

Ok, from a 30,000 foot level, I understand a cap. What has me scratching my head is I read that this summer, Burns and Orlov are “coming off” and that will give us space.

That makes it sound to the uneducated me like those two guys are gone this summer, but the smarter side will of me says “nuh-uh.”

So, splain to me what I’m not understanding.

Just found this grim reminder! And it was hung right on the fridge for God and everybody to see.

When they boarded the charter at RDU it was 69 deg, partly cloudy with a light breeze out of the SW.

When they get off the plane at WPG it will be -2F (wind chill of -27F), snowing and the wind blowing at 25 mph out of the NW.

I'm pretty sure Mikko might make a note to himself to mark WPG off the list if he decides to test the market, so to speak.

Hi everyone, local Tiny Caniac Wrangler here to be needy.

We are taking our girl to her very first Canes game on Saturday. She turns 4 on Wednesday and we are all superduper excited to experience this together with our big kid!

We do plan on getting there early enough to make it onto the glass for warmups so…anyone out there wittier than me that can give me some ideas for a sign? I feel like the combo of First Game + Birthday is already pretty powerful so I’m cool with sticking standard, but if yall have some slick one-liners, toss em out.

Also, any other Tiny Caniac managers with tips re: ear pro, attention span management, best kid gear- always appreciated.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I went to my first game of the season on Saturday (sad we couldn't get the W) and noticed there were a lot of helicopter graphics and animations on the big screen. I went to around 15 games last year and didn't see anything like that before. Is there something I'm missing? Are we the Carolina Helicopters now? I'm all for creativity and mixing things up, but I feel like I am out of the loop on this one XD.

I know people are hating on burns, orlov, and Walker but damn. With sub par goalies / rotations due to injuries (I love our guys) too.

Hey all! I'm getting around to framing some of my old memorabilia. I have these prints from the Hurricanes 10th Anniversary celebration that they were giving away that night. I want to match the actual photograph to the drawing on the poster.

Can anyone tell me where to find this image? I'm pretty sure it was the epic Game 7 save with like 3 min to go, but I'm having trouble finding this image somewhere online.

(In case you're wondering, I do have the other poster they handed out that night, of Brind'Amour's celly after his goal. And I found that image pretty easily.)

Hey, fellow Caniacs!

I'm an NC art student who loves The Canes! Recently, I have been blessed to be able to create a gallery show. After hours of deliberation, I realized I wanted to focus on something I love that hasn't caught on in the South, Ice Hockey. The gestures, the movements, and the thought behind every stride of the blades or stick are integral to the whole game. As a player myself (defenseman) I wanted to show the personal side of hockey. Not only from a player's perspective but from a fan's perspective too.

I was wondering if any of y'all had any pictures of the Canes you would like to share. Any pictures of the Canes are more than welcome. You can share them in the comments or message me privately. I don't care about the resolution or if it's "the perfect shot." I just care that it's from people who love the Canes as much as I do.

I have been on the Hurricanes site, utilizing pictures from there, and sniffing around Google. However, I feel a more personal touch has more meaning and "Oomph" behind it. And, what's more personal than a bunch of fans gathering together to make an amazing collage of THEIR pictures? Yes, the pictures of the official photographers are amazing, and they're very talented, but I want a less corporate touch.

Any of my final paintings and sketches I have from those photos can be sent to their photographers upon request, don't worry. I have a whole series lined up for paintings >:). (If there is a want, I can even post some of my current Canes paintings. I have an inactive Instagram account, but it should start being active soon with the paintings that I'm doing. It's the same name.)
