Am I the only one who expected more trades involving players to happen?
So far it seems like it's mostly been pick swap deals.
Like a lot of you out there, I wanted Demidov. It is now time to get over that and look to the future. Levshunov is our Belarusian Bull and that’s that.
Seeing as we desperately need at least one guy to play with Bedard this year because I’m not convinced a 32 year old Hall coming off a major knee injury is going to cut it, who are you guys looking at? I, for one, would love to see us toss a massive two year bag at either Stamkos or Marchessualt. I’m thinking 2 years, ~$11m as both of those guys have won a cup and could be interested in one last payday and playing with Bedard. I would also be taking a look at Chandler Stephenson, but I think he is going to go to a contender/playoff team. Who are you looking at and hoping we add?

Seen a lot of talk about how Hawks almost got Levshunov and Demidov - Hawks were targeting Lindstrom and thats why they didn't Montreal the same deal as Lindstrom already had been chosen.
The majority of this sub, myself included, were hoping for Demidov tonight. Instead, KD opted to take a shot on a potential #1 RHD. You might be happier about that decision after you take a look at next year's draft class. Just like this year's class was loaded with elite defensive prospects, next years draft is absolutely stacked at forward.
James Hagens is looking like an elite forward prospect on par with Macklin Celebrini or Jack Hughes, and is the presumptive #1OA pick.
Michael Misa was granted exceptional status in the OHL and hasn't disappointed.
Roger McQueen, Porter Martone, and Malcolm Spence are big (massive, in McQueen's case) power forwards who bring both skill and grit.
Anton Frondell is a Swedish center with very high compete level who does everything extremely well and has looked great in international play.
Ivan Ryabkin is a creative Russian winger whose MHL production has been comparable to Demidov's. Like Demidov, he's know for flashy plays but also plays with good motor and compete level.
Next year's draft is where we'll find an elite forward prospect to pair with Bedard. As of right now, there's only one defenseman in that draft (Hensler) who is believed to be on the same level as Levshunov, so it was a much safer bet to lock down defense in this draft and wait until next year to get a high-end forward.
Obviously a lot can change between now and next June ( Eiserman was projected to go #2OA this time last year), but as of right now it appears possible that 8 of the top 10 picks in next years draft could be forwards. I'm happy that we took the top D-man in a defense-heavy draft and will be getting one of the top forwards in next year's forward-heavy draft. Because, let's face it, we're probably picking in the top-5 for one more year.
I know it’s way too early to even talk about it but I can’t lie, I’m disappointed with this draft. Davidson has been talking this “best player available” game and didn’t do that with any of the 3 picks. Along with the total lack of value in both trade ups. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on Levshunov (although I’ve been a Demidov guy, seemed like the obvious choice to me) but I feel like Davidson is picking for need rather than BPA. Very frustrating to see when he’s been preaching the BPA strategy. Again, very early to be commenting but that’s how I feel. Where are you guys at?
Not a huge fan of our picks at 18 and 27. What did you guys think? Seeing who was left on the board I just don’t think we got the best player available. Hindsight is 20/20 but wish we would have gone with Demidov at 2, Chernyshov at 18, and Emery at 27. Still fills all the needs that we had going into the draft. We get our skilled winger in our top 6, a power forward with some skill for our top 6, and a top 4 Dman.

I’m excited to hear Arty is NHL ready. We could certainly use all 6’2’’ of him! With Boisvert being taken 18th, I’m reminded of some of our other prospects like Moore, Gajan, Kantserov from the ‘23 draft or the four 1st rounders from ‘22. When can we expect prospects to be NHL ready and join the team?

Will there be any kind of game used sale or availability for jerseys for the Blackhawks?
