I'd do this if Buchnevich doesn't want to re-sign https://bvmsports.com/2024/06/18/jakob-chychrun-on-the-trade-block-5-possible-landing-spots-2/
So with the recent announcements of Steen and Moose joining the management squad could we start to see a shift in the way we develop and play a game? Steen and arguably Moose led this team to an eventually winning culture. They know what it takes to win and having players like that overseeing a team I really think we could see a nasty dynasty in the future. Obviously it’ll take time but Steener is ridiculously smart so it wouldn’t surprise me if we become formidable again sooner rather than later. Opinions?
Hey everyone! Back in 2013 I played in an ACHA All-Star game against the St. Louis Blues Alumni team. After the game we had an opportunity to get our jerseys signed by some of the players. Can anyone help me figure out who these autographs were from?
Thanks in advance!
Did anyone go? Was curious as to the prices on some stuff like gloves, sticks, and such.
With all the news surrounding Alexander Steen becoming our future GM, it got me thinking about how long he had played. Looking into his career I didn't realize how many games he played with the Maple Leafs before being traded. From here I just got into looking at other players who didn't only play for the Blues. So, I'm curious who is someone you could have sworn either played more games in STL but was maybe only here a season or two, or the opposite, you could have sworn was only here for a couple years and in fact played here for a long time?
I'll start, Jay Bouwmeester. Now, I knew he had been here a while, but I did not realize we are the team he played the most games within his career. Jaybo played 1,240 career games (471 in Florida, 279 in Calgary, and 490 in STL) and I would not have guessed he was a Blue that long. I think part of that boils down to injuries here, while in Florida he played in all 82 games multiple times.
Got my tickets, section 420 (nice). I still can’t believe that the Blues are playing the Winter Classic on my birthday.
Where’s everybody else gonna be?
As an ex-Missourian, just popping in here to say I’m so happy for how the finals have gone for Tarasenko. Hope FL can finish the job.
Anybody have one?
Armstrong has said that we're not rebuilding but with this announcement and the timing of our NTCs align perfectly making me think this is coming to a rebuild.
Steen takes over after the 2025-26 season. So his first team he is at the reigns of is in 26-27.
Our NTCs that turn into M-NTCs in the 2025-26 season include:
In my thoughts, they're going to shed the older players in the next two years and setup Steener with a fresh start... just like they did Armstrong.
Armstrong's quote "How it effects the next two years is very important. I called out leadership group last night, our captains, and I said 'We've been honest that we have a plan. We have a vision on the ice and now this is the vision off the ice' But the vision on the ice for today's players isn't about when he takes over as manager. It is about what we do this year in training camp. And I told our leadership group, 'I have a plan. Their job is to disrupt my plan.'"
In all of his time since becoming the GM or assistant GM, the blues haven't even won a game, let alone a playoff game, let alone had a chance at the cup. When is enough enough? I think you have to question if Steen is the right guy for this job anymore.
This post may seem premature, but this is r/stlouisblues, never too soon to have a knee-jerk reaction!
In all seriousness, I'm just doing my part because I think you're not a true St Louis Blues GM (or even assistant GM) until somebody questions whether or not you should keep the job...
Oh man, looking back on the last 5 years has me missing my free copy of the entire 2019 Quest for the Stanley Cup that some kind stranger on the internet gave me. I has to get a new computer and my copy of every episode was lost. If only someone was able to help me out because I can't find where to get a new copy of the series...
It sounds so good to hear it again!!!
