Would anyone be able to get a clip of the Jincy Roese intro? We’re from O’Fallon and I think my 7 year old hockey playing daughter would be excited to see someone from our hometown get that kinda treatment. She was already excited to watch her sister, Josey, play at Lindenwood a couple weeks ago.
It's kinda disappointing that the game is only available for Canadians through Amazon Prime, I usually love interacting with other fans on the YouTube stream.
My friend and I are Toronto season ticket holders and recently found out through a FB group that we missed a meet & greet with the players recently although we received no email correspondence about it. My friend and I reached out to their team and emailed them asking to be apart of the list so we don’t miss any more exclusive events and I think we’ve been ghosted. We also didn’t get the toques that other season ticket holders receive
Is anyone else having the same experience with the PWHL customer service? It’s been frustrating
Super fun, thanks league 🙁
Hey everyone super excited to be back! I had so much fun making videos last season and now I'm back with season 2 of the PWHL!!
Canada fans, looks like Canadian Tire will be carrying PWHL merch soon! Says sold out as of now but might be in stock soon? Anyone else know anything about this?
Hi all, I'm a recent women's ice hockey fan, started with the season one finals actually. I've a couple quick questions. First, I'm actually over in Ireland, and would love to know if there's anywhere that ships to Europe where I could get a Jersey? Second, any recs for podcasts or YouTubers who do pwhl analysis/talk about the league? I think it would help me learn more and keep up better. I heard one of the commentators in the Sirens Frost game mention Jocks In Jills, I've bookmarked them to check out, but any other recs I'm up for. Lastly, some game questions, what's this "Power Play" about? And also in the Sirens Frost game a commentator mentioned something new called a "no escape rule"? Would love to learn. Thanks all!
EDIT: Sorry, I should be clear I'm 100% new to ice hockey, I've no previous frame of reference for rules!
My husband and I have tickets to the Jan 12 takeover game in Denver and we want to have shirts to wear to the game (we are Victoire fans). The online store is already selling out pretty quickly so I wanted to know what other's experiences were with buying apparel merch at a game. How was the selection of items compared to the online store, and were you able to purchase stuff before the game without dealing with crazy lineups? I'm so excited for this and I definitely want to be repping our team for the game.
my aerin frankel jersey finally arrived and i love it so much!!!! i’m so excited to watch this season wearing this for every game. GO FLEET ⚓️💚
TM really needs to stop releasing tickets at the last minute.Take Ottawa most of the sections were sold out or close to it today a bunch of tickets got released.I doubt it will be a sell out now if these tickets were released a couple days ago no question.
Hey, guys. I've been loving PWHL games but am swamped with work and life so I wasn't able to watch any of the games this weekend.
I tried liking the streams of the games on YouTube because that worked for me last season, but it didn't work for me this time. Does anybody have a link to the archive of the most recent games? Thanks so much!
Might be too early to tell but any predictions?
As the title says but I didn’t realize who I was talking to at the time. She accidentally cut me in line at the hotel and we got to talking PWHL and Boston/MA life as she has ties to my area. Real down to earth and I wish I wasn’t a dumb and realized who I was talking to lol
Thank you to all of the volunteers doing the NHL & PWHL power rankings. Each ranker has their own system and have their own reasonings and analyis. It truly is a lot of work.

How does this work? Throughout the course of the week rankers are able to access an app that will allow them to rank teams. At the end of the period we calculate the average ranking for every team and collate all of the analysis provided by rankers.
The app then generates a post that is first proofread and then posted to /r/hockey and r/PWHL!
Ranking (avg) | Team | Delta | Overall Record | Record This Week | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 (2.11) | Toronto Sceptres | 1 | 1-0-0 | 1-0-0 | firelark01 says Despite winning its first game of the season, Toronto had a disappointing pre-season showing, and a disappointing end of a series last year. sensitive_tax4291 says The Sceptres have a terrible name that refers to Toronto's history as Upper Canada and the home of the Queen's Colonial ruler in North America. That aside, the team has kept the powerful core that won the regular season last year and added a lot of talent in the off season arms race. Will it be enough to dominate this season again and hopefully win the Cup? Yes. As an absolute homer, I can only say yes. x-tremememeteam says Great first game reminds me of the dominant team that just could not be beaten last season. That is still frsh and I think that very well could continue into this season. |
2 (2.33) | Montreal Victoire | - | 1-0-0 | 1-0-0 | firelark01 says Montreal starts out fairly middle of the pack this year. They have a decent roster. Stacey, Poulin and Grant-Mentis are sure not to disappoint this year as forwards (as always), and their defence is always pretty good. They also have the absolute assets that are Desbiens and Chuli as goalies, I can't wait to see Chuli get more of the ice time (hopefully). One thing I hope they do is utilise their non-star players a bit more, give the women some rest, Cheverie, please! In the off-air pre-season, they won one of their two matches, in which they scored 6 points against the Charge. Montreal winning by its first game of the season because of Poulin made my week. Very, very fun game it was to watch. x-tremememeteam says Montreal played a really good game and honestly outplayed Ottawa. Huge showing by them and I think they are gonna be a huge threat this season. |
3 (3.44) | Minnesota Frost | 0 | 0-1-0 | 0-1-0 | sensitive_tax4291 says Defending champs but oh so much chaos. Can one man destroy everything Natalie Darwitz worked so hard to put together? x-tremememeteam says This is based off 'vibes' going into the season. Since this is a week 0 ranking I think it fair to say Minnesota had the worst offseason imaginable. A week after winning the Cup they fire the GM (seemingly locker room related which is not a good sign) and then they draft Britta Curl who is by default everyone's least favourite player...I mean the vibes just aren't there and I have a gut feeling that this will eventually translate to on-ice performance. You can't have PR nightmare after PR nightmare and I REALLY hope that this was just a small blip (I mean the name and logo are MINT at least). Only the regular season will tell if this is all media blowing things out of porportion or actual tension that can hurt the team. |
4 (3.67) | New York Sirens | 0 | 1-0-0 | 1-0-0 | firelark01 says Fillier had a hat trick and the Sirens have not lost a pre-season game. ladylexxi says Maybe I'm biased as the Sirens ranker, but with a monstrous carpy+fillier line developing into a 30 second OT win, beautiful draft, coach change, and the only hat trick + jailbreak during the pre-season (courtesy of #1 draft Sarah Fillier) I'm going to defend my well-earned positivity and rank the Sirens high sensitive_tax4291 says Can Fillier fix everything in one rookie season? x-tremememeteam says Look a win is a win and they obviously had a really good draft but they did not look like the better team in the game they won...but they don't give points based on the Deserve To Win O'meter they give it based off wins and guess what...New York starts off in the W coloumn. |
5 (4.33) | Ottawa Charge | 0 | 0-1-0 | 0-1-0 | x-tremememeteam says Thoroughly outplayed but that was mainly due to injuries (even the coach was coming back from injury and this was the literal first game) and discipline. Serdachny came as advertised and with a healthy Jenner and Boyd and not taking 7 penalties in a game Ottawa will be a force. |
6 (5.11) | Boston Fleet | 0 | 0-1-0 | 0-1-0 | fabulousflyingfern says Well the offense was non existent in the 3rd period... but this team already looks far better than last years, and the slump in the second half of the game seemed mostly like just needing to get back into the flow of things. Top line of Hannah Bilka, Alina Muller, and a healthy Hilary Knight has a good chance of being the best in the league. Right now ranking in last because that was just a terrible second half of a game, but I don't expect them to stay here long. On top of that, the first two goals Toronto got were primarily Frankel not being awake, and she locked in after that back to top form. Lastly, Boston's defense took a huge step up, they were at times suffocating to Toronto (shout out Emily Brown for maybe most improved of the off season). x-tremememeteam says Didn't play well against Toronto. It is one game so I wouldn't panic yet but of all the teams to lose they lost the worst...but at least they didn't fire their GM and draft like the ONLY undraftable player...that is the only way a team could get ranked lower than Boston's performance against Toronto but I'm dure no one did that RIGHT?! |
Hey all, just wondering if anyone has come across Montreal Victoire merch in any local stores in the city? Buying them at the games is always too overwhelming and I’m looking for other options besides that and purchasing online. Thanks in advance!
Was just wondering as the person I’m buying a Christmas present for wants a New York Sirens Jersey…but isn’t a fan of teal so they like the white better.
Have they given any info on this, or is it anyone’s guess at this point?
I am going to try to watch all the live games this season, (key word: try) so I made a game tracker, will update for january and beyond :p

Despite media timeouts being delayed for icings, they still happen for the start of penalties, near-completely mitigating the purpose of not having a change.
This provides a big swing depending on what time is on the clock when a penalty occurs. This isn’t the same as, say a late penalty in the game.
But a penalty that happens at 5:59 in the first should not have a major swing in advantage for the team on the kill than a penalty that happens at 6:01 in the first.
Do I became a massive fan of the league last year and would stay up to watch quite often but I noticed the schedule didn’t have youtube under the places to watch and I can’t access a lot of them normally
Is there a non VPN way around this?
I know the team store is usually stocked with NJ devils merch. does anyone know if on a NY sirens game day if they will switch it over and have some sirens/pwhl merch? either there or elsewhere in the arena?
So there's been a lot of discussion about possible expansion teams. I don't know sports business well enough to be able to make any solid predictions, so I'll let others do that. Instead, let's talk about names! After all, if a name really catches on, it might make that city seem like a stronger market.
One, the Takeover games are probably a good indication of where the PWHL thinks its best chances for expansion are.
Two, the trend so far is for PWHL teams to have collective nouns (Fleet, Frost, Charge, Victoire) over plural nouns (Sirens, Sceptres). So let's keep that in mind.
SEATTLE, WA
I'm starting here because I grew up here and it's got a decent chance - they're getting a takeover game. The obvious pick IMHO is the Seattle Orcas. The orca is a very iconic regional animal, so it's a bit amazing that we don't have ANY sports teams, whether professional or major collegiate, that call themselves the Orcas.
Aside from the Orcas, I can't think of any decent choices for wildlife, given the existence of the Seahawks, Huskies, and Cougars. Weather is a decent choice, except the Storm have that covered. An outside option would be the Seattle Pride. While pretty much any city could use it to specifically refer to a pride of lions, in Seattle you could play up the LGBTQ+ connotations. If there's any city where branding your team as queer-friendly would be a net benefit, it's Seattle.
I was initially skeptical of an economic reference (a la Seattle Mariners or Pittsburgh Steelers) since "Seattle Programmers" would be silly, but then I got an actually good idea: the Seattle Code. It suggests a very cool digital design aesthetic and an obvious slogan: "You can't crack the Code". The mascot would probably be some kind of insect design and be called "____ the Bug".
PHOENIX, AZ
This is a long shot, since we just lost our NHL team to Salt Lake City. On the other hand, it means there's an opening and maybe no need to build a stadium. Also, I'm an Arizonan, so I want to talk about them. Anyway, I came up with an excellent idea: the Arizona Scorch. If there is one thing Arizona and especially Phoenix is known for, it is our ridiculously high temperatures. The aesthetic flows naturally from there - lots of fire, red, and orange.
The only idea I can think of for wildlife would be the Arizona Scorpions, which would be very cool. A cactus-related name is probably a bit silly, even if we incorporate it into the logo or mascot. For economic names, maybe the Arizona Copper, given that we are the Copper State.
Finally, this is one market where maybe we can pull off a Native American name. It would probably have to involve a deal with a specific tribe to avoid being offensive. Of the various Arizona tribes, the Arizona Apaches sounds best to my ear (only if the modern Apaches are open to it). Alternatively, we could make a more oblique reference to how long the Natives have been here: the Arizona Ancients.
DETROIT, MI
This is probably one of the most-discussed expansion markets, judging by the YouTube chat if nothing else. I've heard Detroit Phoenix as one option, which I can very much understand as appealing to Detroiters. My only objection is that if Phoenix ever gets an expansion team, things could get confusing.
The other obvious source of inspiration is Motor City's role as the historic center of the American auto industry. I considered Detroit Motors, but that might be too on the nose. Instead, how about the Detroit Drive? Same automotive aesthetic plus some alliteration.
WASHINGTON, DC
Don't know how likely this one is, but I have a killer idea. I actually think that this is what the Washington Commanders should have gone for instead: the Washington Monuments. An obvious pun? Yes, but also an awesome one, drawing upon the city's numerous landmarks for inspiration.
VANCOUVER, BC
Everything I said about Orcas for Seattle applies here. In fact, maybe the best option is that Seattle takes the Code and Vancouver goes with the Orcas. I thought about Vancouver Stars, given Vancouver's role as a center for film, except we already have the Dallas Stars down in Texas. Hmm... Vancouver Icons?
CHICAGO, IL
Just one idea here: if you're the Windy City, why not the Chicago Wind?
Obviously, there are many other possible expansion cities (especially in Canada - sorry, I don't know your cities that well), but these are the ideas I have. I'd love to hear yours!
They make great collectors items.
