Friday Montreal game is a 2pm face off. Should I expect a crowd?

Where/How to watch games?

I'm in Calgary and won't be able to attend games in person. I watched the televised game on CBC between Toronto and Montreal last year, and heard there were games on YouTube but they must have only been live and not archived?

For this coming season, I want to watch any many games as I can, do I just need to watch them live on YouTube as they happen, or did they announce any broadcasting options yet?

Thanks very much!

PWHL craft season: Sceptres themed earplug necklace

After successfully grabbing a half season package I've been putting lots of thought into what I would have appreciated at games last season.

I really wanted earplugs between periods and tried bringing them to one, but popping them in and out, having them in a pocket, trying to keep track of them... Hated it, didn't really use them even when I wanted them.

I bring you: ear plug necklace. Had some gold chains and blue gems floating around the house, found these great blue magnetic clasps... One of the very (very) rare instances of coming up with an idea from scratch that just completely works. They stay around your neck no problem because of the clasp and the gems look like earrings when in use. I can't believe how well they work... I'm very proud.

Now that the teams have names, can they be added to the user flairs?

Choose My Fandom For Me

This is my year to get into the PWHL. Grew up playing and watching hockey in DC, still live there and a big fan of the Caps. I watched the rise of the NWSL and enjoyed every second of it.

With hopes that one day a franchise comes to DC, my fandom is currently yours to fight over. What’s the vibe of each team? Why should I love yours? Why should I hate the others?

Streaming the Rivalry Game

Anyone know how to stream the game tonight for free? I don’t have the NHL network. Thanks!

New Jerseys

Gotta get it off my chest even though nobody asked to know. This is the only time I'm going to be a Negative Ned about them and I promise I won't bring it up again. I really love the new uniforms with two exceptions.

• I think the bottom stripe/stripes by the waist on most of them (Toronto's is good imo) is not super great but tolerable.

• I absolutely can't stand that the wrist stripes are only on the front 180° on every single variation in the league and then suddenly cut off to plain base color fabric. It makes it look cheap in my opinion. Should've done a full wrap around on the wrist.

Overall, I like all of the leagues new jerseys. They are pretty fresh looking and have nice unique details to each one. If I had to rank them (keeping as much personal bias of logos and teams out of it as I can help) I'd go:

• MTL Home

• MTL Away

• MN Home

• OTT Away

• TOR Home

• NY Home

• MN Away

• TOR Away

• NY Away

• OTT Home

• BOS Away

• BOS Home

*From the bottom up. I'm not high on Boston's design, but it's not bad either. It just happens to land at the bottom for me. The contrast on OTT home is throwing me off slightly with the shoulder color. NY Away is a bit busy to me for some reason. Love all of the others despite my minor gripes from the opening statement.

Merch question!

Hey all, I’m headed to Montreal in January, and I realized there’s a Victoria home game while I’m there. I will obviously need to wear some sort of merch, and I’m wondering if Place Bell sells any PWHL merch or if I need to buy beforehand.

Which toque/freebie have you received with your seasonal pass?

In Montreal, we had this one! Love the design so can't complain but the typo does seem to bleed a little bit considering the material they took (it does feel quite luxurious.)

The Jersey Number Detailing reminds me of anti counterfeit measures on money

I LOVE how they look, but I can't help but wonder if I'm right you know? Can't really just go to a tailor that does numbers and name plates to get something "real" looking

Q: Jersey number detailing

I was wondering if there was a significance associated with the quantity of number detailing (e.g. was a specific number of fleurs de lis chosen for the for MTL jersey) ?

Any responses appreciated

Does anyone know why the Rivalry Series tickets are so expensive?

So I wanted to see it in San Jose the other day but most tickets were $80 and up! The cheapest ticket was $50! I watched the game on NHL Network and to no surprise the arena was half empty maybe a couple hundred at best.

I live in SJ and go to games regularly at Tech CU Arena. They barely get any fans to watch the AHL team the Barracuda and those tickets are only $15 so why would more people show up and pay more to watch USA Hockey?

I'm just disappointed in the marketing behind this and it wasn't even promoted well. I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of it all. If they thought people were going to pay $50 they were terribly mistaken. I think it was a blown opportunity to get more people to watch women's hockey.

Is there financial parity between teams?

Im new to this game and so excited for season 2. Which got me thinking… How do teams get funded? I know Mark Walter is the owner of all the teams, so is there meant to be parity when he writes the cheques? Or can he play favourites with who he wants to see win? If it’s the later, that seems really unfair, and if it’s the former, it sort of feels like fantasy sports with real humans. I’m not at all trying to invalidate the league - I’m super excited to watch this game - I’m just curious how 1 owner works for an entire league.

New fan with a few questions

G’day everyone!

Long time Anaheim ducks fan here, and just saw the jerseys posted on the hockey subreddit and it has piqued my interest!

First question that may answer all the others, is there an FAQ post? I’m on the app and never understood how to deep dive into a subreddit on it

As a father of two daughters I feel like hopefully this is how I can get them into the sport, so second question, living in Australia does anyone have any idea of how to watch the games once they start? Is there something like nhl.tv I can sign up to?

Third question, as an Australian fan that supports a Californian NHL team, I have no geographical ties to any of the PWHL teams, convince me to cheer for yours! (Full disclosure; my daughter (3.5) will almost definitely choose Minnesota purely because it’s purple so any answers to this question MIGHT fall on deaf ears)

TIA

When can we talk about expansion?

I know that it’s a relatively new league and that the PWHL is just getting going. Expansion conversations might be VERY premature. But what is the likelihood of a team coming down to Nashville? Are there expansion talks on the horizon at all?

As many of you know, Nashville has become a hockey city and the ultimate tourism destination. There are more young women and girls playing hockey here than ever before.

The most promising thing, though, which made me so happy, was that I recently heard my son’s 10UAA team, Pred Selects, completely composed of boys this year, talking positively about women’s hockey. They loved the clips they saw.

Anyways, nothing would make me prouder as a dad than supporting a women’s team here in Nashville and bringing my boy and girl to watch on a regular basis. If there is anything I can do to help make this a reality beyond a reddit post, let me know.

Wow the PWHL Upper Deck boxes only ship to Canada?

Edit; I'm fully wrong. American retailers do have it.

Am I misreading something or is only Canada getting the upper deck release next year? I just reserved a box (I often prefer to just get base sets second hand, works out to cheaper, but I HAD to get a box you know?

But everywhere I look it's Canada only! There's three American teams though?! I know I've sold cards and sent them across the border it's not like there's not a market

So what's going on?

I also wonder if anyone is doing case breaks.... I'm so tempted to get a hobby case but that's so much catalogueing and selling the extras... But if the states is getting none then the extras would probably move okay...

Basically I'm at the end of pop girl vinyl summer and have refocused on hockey woman cardstock LMFAO
