After my 10th rematch I understood that the Chinese are not angry and shocked because they’re lesbians, but because they thought it’s Catherine and Selina lol
These whale dongs.
Just noticed a continuity error as Amy says this line (S1E4). Right before this, she walks across the hall to her office. As Jonah walks in, we hear her say this line off-screen, but she couldn’t have gotten back across the hall that quickly and she’s still not in frame. She suddenly appears back in the shot a few camera cuts later.
You can even tell that the mic quality is different - it’s similar to when Selina does one-liners in the plane or motorcade but we don’t actually see her. You can tell she’s speaking directly into a mic, not just the boom.
I know these happens a lot and it’s just the result of many takes, but I always think they’re fun to catch!
Single M/46.
I know this sounds ridiculous, although the times would beg to differ. I think Veep fans, real fans, would make a good starting point for a first date.
Has to be Sidney Purcell for me. Some of the bombs he drops are just wonderful on the ear
The moment that just makes you laugh because it’s so weird; mine is from Mike (S03E07):
“I feel like Shakespeare when that monkey tried to make fun of him.”
Like, huh? Even for Mike, it’s weird.
but with the same dynamic, more or less lol
I'm in the camp that Furlong is a nice guy. I just did another re watched.
I noticed that when Selena and Andrew are on screen, they often fake their happiness, like that interview with Selena's family when she was VP. Behind the scenes, they were actually fighting and revealing their true selves. There relationship is always crashing and burning. And there only together for greed. Power or money.
In contrast, Furlong genuinely seems to have a good relationship with his wife, though it feels like he’s pretending to be a nice Christian just to keep her happy. It's just so different compare to Andrew and Selena.
Honestly, I vibe with the idea that Furlong is a solid guy.
I would argue that some not-so-bright and unimaginative people think that Selina is a realistic portrayal of how a female president would govern. The US populace gets so caught in categorization - female/male, black/white, dem/GOP - that they overlook basic humanity.
Look at all the countries around the world that have had female leaders; it's not a big deal. The question shouldn't be the person's gender, but the qualifications, ethics and judgment.
When everybody is having dinner at Furlong's house, Furlong says "All right you anal fistula, we had a deal." Then it cuts right to Jonah's face with Furlong abruptly finishing with "In return for all this creamy domesticity I'm blowing all over your droopy tits." I thought, "Wait, two sentences? That seemed short for a Furlong diatribe." Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Furlong had more dialogue that got cut.
His death led to Jonah becoming Vice President. What a consequential moment in us history
i got my first cellphone (a blackberry) in 2012, when i was 12 years old, and rewatching season 1 right now and seeing everybody with blackberries is such a strange sensation… since i was a kid back then i must have erased that memory from my mind bc i can’t help but think about that quote that goes “the earth is littered with the ruins of empires that once believed were eternal”
Catherine, right? The absent mother blubber? Mike: Chinese daughter torture.
Omg my ribs hurt.
I don’t get this one.
I am so going to use that myself.
The Reverend Terrence Clark, Church of the living Christ. Gary: He's a baker. Selena: Ahh, Christ is risen
I'm sitting here with four broken ribs. It hurts a lot to laugh. I really shouldn't be watching this program right now.
Lol
