Alien and Predator discussion here.
ALIEN was created by Ridley Scott, Dan O'Bannon, Carlo Rambaldi, H. R. Giger.

I'll admit...it's not great...but it's far from the worst game I've played.
Pros: Some good setpieces like heading into the Derelict and the Raven level, also exploring the deserted Sulaco. Also I remembered the characters, such as Winter, Bella, O'Neal, Reid and even Cruz.
Cons: Gameplay can be repetitive and the AI is...well...goofy. Bihen's acting is kinda phoned in, the acting in general falls a bit flat in some scenes (except Travis Willingham cause he's fuckin' great.) The cutscene animation and models look a bit...ps2 ish...also it included more human enemies who somehow deal more damage than the Xenos.
Overall: Middling but not too bad as I had fun seeing all the easter eggs and collecting the weapons from the Aliens movie.
Can you spot the xenomorph?
From Star Wars: Rogue Squadron Issue #8
Btw I just started reading the series. Highly recommend it if you’re a Star Wars fan.
Glad you’re back in my life buddy 🖤
I love being on some subs where redditors ask to be drawn, looking for the moment to add a xenomorph just because.
Was this a nod to Raised by Wolves?
Back in August I watched Romulus and got obsessed with this ugly thing and it lead to me creating this piece. I love it.

Hey guys!
I am looking for a Christmas gift for myself and I am a relatively new (watched the first some years ago, but this year I got obsessed) fan of the Alien franchise and I want to start reading comics.
I was wondering, is it worth to get the Omnibuses (found the first one for 114€) over the Epic Collections?
From what I see the Epic Collections 1 and 2 don't have all that the first Omnibus has, so I am worried that I would be losing content by going that route.
Would appreciate any help, thank you!
It’s time to finally decorate!
I just got done watching Aliens Special Edition. This is probably the 50th time I've watched Aliens. It's been a few years since I sat down to watch in start to finish, at least with it having 100% of my attention. Most of the time, I will throw a favorite on in the background while cooking, cleaning, or scrolling on my phone or whatever, but tonight, I decided to put it on and watch with purpose.
God, I love this movie. It is in my top 5 movies of all time, if not THE top. Everything is just so perfect - the actors, the dialog, the effects, the music, the suspense, and that glorious M41A pulse rifle sound effect - it's just perfect. And Special Edition with the additional scenes is the quintessential way it needs to be enjoyed.
I know I have HUGE nostalgia for this movie, I still remember my first time watching it as a kid, sitting in my dad's lap in the recliner at my parents' house when I was probably 10 or something. It scared the shit out of me back then, I was sure the xenos were lurking under my bed for years. Now I just grin ear-to-ear through most of it because it is SOOOO fucking good. I actually teared up a little when Ripley said her famous line during the final battle on the Sulaco.
I am a nerd. I accept it. I just felt I had to post an emotional and gushing heartfelt appreciation for this incredible cinematic masterpiece that means so much to me.
It’s just cool
Fortnite is something else
Houd day you all, I recently finished inferno's fall and enemy of my enemy and I do not know what is next that continue on this master plot?
The epilogue did his job and got me hooked badly and I want to know who is or which organization is behind all this. Do you have insides to share on that?
I also finished aliens bishop and going to start uncivil war yet with all these novels with no chronological order it is tough to get my head around this univers and yes I read my fair share of alien novels already
Kay in the span of 45 or so minutes had to:
watch one of her best friends die brutally to giving alien birth
take a runaway roller coaster ride in space
watch another best friend get melted by acid
hide from an alien
get captured and cocooned, seeing all the cocooned dead scientists in the process and the horrors of an alien hive
blunt force trauma potentially injuring her baby
watch another friend get impaled
give birth to an alien, painfully.
face to face encounter with alien child who proceeds to breastfeed off her and potentially sexually assault her before killing her
Trying to think who had a worse time in cinema history in such a short time…
It’s up ! Just need replace the lost sticker’d advertising
For clarification, this is the reverse of what someone else posted about what is "so bad it's not canon" - what is your head canon for something not explicitly detailed in the franchise? For me, regarding the first film:
- Parker and Lambert "kinda have a thing" - either they are mutually attracted or he is in love with her. As evidenced by him flirting with her right before Kane's death (she does roll her eyes at him, indicating perhaps she doesn't share the same feelings), and later he sacrifices his life in vain for her, the latter indicating he truly cares about her.
- On the same note, Kane and Parker are buddy-buddy, despite having very different statuses/roles on the ship. Kane being the Executive Officer means he is basically second-in-command, while Parker is considered a blue-collar worker (quite literally with his headband). But they clearly get along, as evidenced by Parker ribbing Kane a few times. It seems like they're the kind of friends who would tease/fuck with each other regularly - Parker tells him "Did anyone ever tell you *look* dead, man?" at the beginning foreshadowing, when Kane wakes up from the Facehugger Kane says "Alright. Next silly question" to his and Parker's amusement, and of course Parker teases Kane with "C'mon, the food ain't that bad!" when Kane is "choking", because he's teasing Kane and he thinks Kane is just fucking with him.
- Though 5 out of 7 of the crew members (not including Jonesy, I suppose his bonus is just cuddles and a litterbox and milk) have made their thoughts very clear on the bonus situation (Parker and Brett think they aren't being paid fairly, Ripley and Dallas think they're getting their fair shares, Ash gets visibly irritated when they bring it up because obvious he doesn't care about the crew), there's two who don't talk about it at all. But because of Kane and Parker's pre-established friendship it's very possible Kane is on Parker's side of the debate. Maybe he doesn't speak up or can't do anything about it since that's Ripley's department. Lambert seems agnostic on the bonus situation as it apparently doesn't affect her either way, but if she's got feelings for Parker she could be on his side.
- Brett has some reason he's so impaired in his judgment, cognition, emotional maturity, and vocabulistics. I don't think he's mentally challenged, but he's definitely not uneducated (he at the very least passed Weyland-Yutani's engineering technician exam) or "normal dumb" either. I think that's the kind of literal brainrot you can only achieve through paint huffing, glue sniffing, and the like. Maybe he huffs Nostromo fuel on the DL? I mean with alcohol and drugs in all likelihood banned and the only good thing on the ship being the coffee, you've got to find other mind-altering substances elsewhere. Or in this case, neuron-annihilating.
- I think Kane did know/suspect more than he let on regarding... what happened to him while the Facehugger was on him. Based on his facial expressions being the exact opposite of what he's saying, they reflect the face of a traumatized man (very in line with the themes of the film) rather than the previously carefree attitude he had before and his claim to remember nothing other than the "horrible dream". But he feels the need to hide his pain for the sake of the rest of the crew. He has no idea the full extent of what happened to him, so he tries to carry on as usual. But I think he knows on some level something is terribly wrong.
Oh, and The Thing (1982) is in the Alien universe, there's no negotiating that. Nauls even has the same headband as Parker.
When Shaw was gonna have the abortion why did the machine not put her to sleep I don’t really see the point in staying awake during that surgery … also how did the engineer have a heartbeat while in cryostasis , don’t all biological processes stop also how the heck can David she’s shaws memeories while she’s in cryo sleep I didn’t know that was a thing in the franchise
I know there's been discussion that it saved her so the face hugger nearby could impregnate her, but the movie clearly shows an arc of light inside the xeno skull.
What if it is an android? That's a plot in the extended universe books. I get that it was shot through the skull but it didn't kill her or wound her when that is normal behavior and it set her on the ladder almost gently. There’s never been any description of anything like that and it was so so clear in the movie that I feel like there must be more to it.
Was rewatching Romulus, and a creepy little detail is that the Offspring seems to try and rub its face to Kay's before attacking her.
It could have been just smelling for the black goo, but it looked almost as if it was trying to show affection to its mother, until she pushed it away, which makes it more horrifying in my opinion.
Like she pushed it away in fear and it killed her in anger. Or even killed her by accident? I thought that was less likely, but what do you guys think?
Any other theories?
Hi
Alien: Covenant
Obvious one - new here but this may have been asked before.
Also…really banal question.
Ricks and Upworth in the shower playing them sweet tracks over the ships sound system (I assume it’s an internal ship system not a standalone plug-in radio or cd player or cassette player as there’s none seen in the crew quarters shower area - also disregarding the chance that a very loud device is playing elsewhere in crew quarters or somewhere else on deck B (the recording studio near the free climbing wall?!) and being heard in the showers) - would an intruder alert/emergency alarm not override and supersede ongoing media playback? Give them a chance to de-lather and dry off, get into an outfit that maybe complies with company uniform policy (kind of) and leg it!?
It seems like such a basic premise for an alarm or emergency system, that may also be run by the same computer that is playing their tunes in the shower. Unless the idea is that there is such a fail safe but in this scenario David/MU-TH-UR have sabotaged it.
It just seemed like such a silly thing. Perhaps it would have only delayed the inevitable - but what if getting properly dried and dressed in semi-appropriate workwear may have saved them?!
Aaaaaanyway
