Hi, I don't know much about them, just watched the movies this week, but it leaves me confused.
There's a few different types of aliens depending on their host from what I gather. So my question is, if those different aliens were to start their own colonies and get queens, and find different and even more unique hosts to continue their colonies, would it be possible for them to evolve into something completely unrecognizable with no of the defining features, like acid blood, after several generations?
Or would instinct for species preservation prevent them from changing too much? Or would another colony try to wipe them out? Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
Another post got me thinking and I’ve been racking my brain to come up with a movie that has 3 or more Alien franchise actors in the same movie. So far all I can think of is Dead Man and The Terminator (though the latter seems like cheating.
So I've been wanting to catch up on the new Alien comics but haven't kept up at all since marvel acquired the rights. It was easy enough to figure out what the first volume was, with Bloodlines, but now I am just thoroughly lost, and really struggling to find a clear list of the specific series order and which volumes are sequential. I know Revival is next, but past that what is Icarus? On Amazon it lists "issues 1-6" from the 2022-2023 run, but that's Bloodlines, so what is this? Then there is another "volume 1" with Thaw, which appears to be the start of the 2023-present run, but I am still not sure if that's the correct order for them to be read. Anyone wiser in the way of information or at least online resources than I am, please help?
Edit: Also, to clarify, I am interested in the publication order here, not the in-universe chronology, I'm used to that bouncing around uncontrollably.
From the new comic called alien paradiso, it looks like how Alan decker described seeing beyond his normal spectrum from the Xenomorphs POV in Alien sea of sorrows novel: smelling sounds with textures to it, having topographic map sense of sight, and seeing colors that humans can’t describe
I managed to get the steelbook and the Reeboks
For those who don't know, in the early iterations of Prometheus when it was called Alien: Engineers, there was this Xenomorph variant denominated Beluga Xenomorph thanks to the resemblance of its skin to that of a beluga. The most interesting trait of this creature was its lack of bones, allowing it to turn itself into a shapeless blob that could squeeze through any gap no matter how small it was, like an octopus, making it even way more dangerous than the classic Xeno. Here's a concept art of this:
What do you guys think about this creature? A cool concept that should've been shown in the movie or should be in a future film, game or comic? Or do you think it strays away from the original Xenomorph we all know?
When complete ill be posting full Animated short to my youtube channel https://youtube.com/@understanddan
Thanks for watching!
I saw all the original Alien films just once when they were released. I liked them.
Now, I'm rewatching them and I realized the Xenomorph storyline development is great! I really liked Prometheus and Alien: Covenant a lot, and it was great to see how it all started.
I understand the AVP movies (both) are not canon, so that's fine.
As far as I know, no Xenomorphs have ever made it to Earth, correcT?
I went to Geek Village in Belgium. It's a new comic con, this was their first edition.
But I immediately felt this was not the type of community I belonged to. Rarely anyone knew old school 80s movies and/or had no interest in it. :(
I often got confused for being Rambo or someone from Terminator. Only 2 older people recognised me as Vasquez. 🤣
Found these… collected a little and never played. So disappointed by the general design. What do you think ?
The first issue of Alien Paradiso came out today, and I couldn't hold back my curiosity about the story. I bought it, read it, and personally, found it quite interesting. But what about you? For those who have already had the chance to read it, what did you think?
Here are a few personal points I could share about the comic:
Tsula Kane, the daughter of our Kane and the main reason I was so interested, seems a bit "too cartoony" to me, but maybe that's just my impression.
The colonial marshals seemed really interesting. I found this investigative setting promising.
The moments where you can see the Xenomorphs POV are very inventive.
Thought this was an excellent video on a marvellous piece of music - also taught me a little about how the soundtrack came together.
Alien's soundtrack is one of my absolute favourites, if not my favourite. It's just achingly gorgeous and dissonant in equal measure. I didn't actually know about Freud being licensed - it comes together as a nice whole.
I wasn't a big fan of some of the more modern touches in Romulus, but that 2001 style choral intro certainly struck a... chord in me. Aha.
Just thought some others might enjoy this little musical interlude amongst the lore discussion.
He's named after my favorite character.
There's obviously 100 alien and ufo subs and so forth, but I though this would be "Alien movie franchise" or "xenomorph," both of which exist. So well done Mods on cleverly hiding this. I was literally like, 5,300 subscribers is it??? Glad to find you all.
I loved Romulus. I have genuinely enjoyed watching it several times.
HOWEVER, the prologue makes no sense whatsoever; Ripley blew up the Nostromo decades ago, so the pieces should have been moving outward in every direction since then. And Big Chap also shouldn’t be with the wreckage for obvious reasons.
Question: has anyone come up with any reasonably plausible headcanon as to how the prologue could be remotely feasible? I’m willing to meet the movie halfway lol

First let me preface this by sayingnfor the sake of this question lets assume that Aliens and Predator is canon.
We know that the Predators and Engieneers do interact at least occasionally because in Alien vs Predator Requiem there is an Engineer helmet in the Predator's trophy room, then in the comics the Predator Ahab hunts an Engineer, then the NECA box art for the Stalker Predator action figure depicts him slaying two Engineers. Surely the Predators and Engineers must be well aware of each other since they're both ancient technologically advanced races that have a presence accross the galaxy. Also the Engineers created humanity and monitored they're development and in AvP we see that at some point the Predators hijacked human development and molded human civilization for they're own ends. The Engineers are also sometimes implied to have created the xenomorphs and we all know that xenomorphs are a favourite prey of the Predators. As two advanced spacefaring civilizations do we know if the Predators and Engineers have any sort of formal diplomatic relations, or are their relations limited to fighting whenever they encounter one another? And if they dont have formal diplomatic relations then why?
