Does Castle ever find out that Beckett was a fan of his before they met?

This is my first time watching the show, and I keep waiting for the reveal that his books helped her through her grief (or maybe I missed it because I do have a tendency to get distracted). Not sure if this is really a spoiler, but if Castle does find out, can you tell me around when it happens?

I’m ripping through my first watch

I have watched 5 seasons in about 5 weeks and I literally cannot slow down to save my life. I know I’m going to regret it because A. everyone wistfully remarks on their first go-around with shows like this, and B. I know it takes a wack, weird turn after season 7 but it’s soooo damn good. I wish it was released weekly like the good old days or I had any self control haha.

My lame excuse is that I’m on the road for work this whole month and it makes the hotel stays a lot cozier. I never thought I’d be a procedurals junkie. I only discovered it because it was playing on the crime channel in every Marriott across the country.. and the other choices were bad. Haha!! The day I crossed my fingers, reached for the remote, and did a happy dance because Castle was on was when I knew I was a goner, lol.

I haven’t been hooked on a show like this since In The Dark. Highly recommend it to Castle fans who are looking for a sarcastic female lead, a will-they-won’t-they romance and an engaging long plot with lots of side quests.

I rly hope that rumor about some return season or film is true……. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Star Trek

So I’m not a Trekkie at all. Never watched the series or full episodes but I do know of some of the actors and recognized them in Castle episodes.

So on the show who’s the Trekkie fan?

Grand Villains Always Cause Their Downfall

Why does it seem that every main villain causes their downfall? I mean sure, if they weren't villains and they wouldn't have a reason to be caught, but seemingly intelligent people end up making very stupid mistakes. I am currently re-watching Castle and I just finished Season 4 and it made me remember that the only reason Bracken actually got caught is because they tried to back out of their deal. If someone didn't try to steal Montgomery's files, then kill the guy, then try to get the files from Smith then Beckett would have never found out about the deal, she wouldn't have found out that Bracken was involved and he probably would have never gotten caught. I mean sometimes villains make slip ups, but this wasn't a slip up, this was a clear choice that caused everything to be brought down.

How would you rewrite season 6 finale/season 7 pilot?

Let's do some fantasy writing, shall we?

I'd maintain Castle getting kidnapped but by Bracken's henchmen who were still under the payroll to get revenge on Beckett.

Kate finds out and tries to save Castle, but all leads are dead ends. Eventually Rick gets saved by his dad (that Rita thing makes no sense) who at the end dies saving his son, writing him off.

An alternative to all of this is it just being 3XK, making Reckoning the pilot of season 7.

That's how I'd do it. That jungle thing and being left on a boat is so out of character for the series.

Also, no Castle PI. Or if he's going PI, mention him still writing Nikki Heat/a new character novels and being busy with that side of his life. It felt like Season 7 started to forget that Castle is a writer.

Anyway, hope to see your opinions!

Is the TV show Castle coming back? -Nov12th2024

Is castle getting rebooted for a season 9? I was watching a podcast on YouTube, with Seamus Dever (Kevin Ryan in Castle) The person who was doing the podcast, Zane Lamprey asked Seamus about "there being rumors about Castle coming back." Seamus' face said it all. He said he couldn't talk about it because of "all the NDA's", but he did say that if it were to happen, everyone would be coming back.

Stana Katic (Kate Beckett in Castle) also was in an interview in 2019, and she said "Wait and See". Although stana did leave, not on her terms, she said that she would love to do it again. So did all the other actors.

I'm not sure which platform this happend on, but apparently the rumors started from Nathan Fillion, posting a picture of the NY skyline, and saying "be prepared" the castle fans were ecstatic.

What are your thoughts? Would you like Castle to come back? Even if it's just for a movie? I'm not sure if it will ever happen, since it has been 8 years, but... hoping for the best!

Castle's dad

Question re. Castle's dad which is a spoiler for people watching the show for the first time - lucky buggers.

Can somebody please remind me - I remember that Castle's dad is a spy but did Martha know that all along and kept his secret or did she just not know?

Not even being sarcastic I think this is one of the best Castle episodes they did. I know it’s my fave.

Moment that got you hooked?

Was wondering if you remember the moment, scene, or episode that got you hooked on Castle?

I found Castle channel hopping when Flowers for Your Grave (s1e1) first aired and remember thinking this is a fun show. I got hooked after watching Hell Hath no Furry(s1e4). For me, the bookstore scene at the end is up there for the entire show. It was the first time Beckett went out of her way to mess with Castle and in classic Castle fashion, her attempt backfired. After discovering that Castle named her character Nikki Heat and the argument that ensued was freaking awesome.

Showgirls

I'm on my 3rd watch of the series and noticing that they really make fun of the movie, Showgirls, a LOT! I know the movie got it's share of jabs but I swear this is excessive. Any thoughts about why?

Castle

I’ve been rewatching Castle for the nth time and today’s episode is The Limey. Until season 8 came along it was my least favorite episode followed by 47 seconds where Castle found out Beckett lied to him. What does everyone else think?

THIS guy!!

this is the most guilty guy in most series i have watched. I just started castle and this guy keeps popping up as a suspect. i 1st saw him on Grimm, then Criminal minds, the Mentalist, Bones and now here. i've not finished the episode yet but i'm guessing he's the suspect?

Does the rumors about Stana and Nathan bother you?

I’m new to the party and just watched a couple episodes lately. The chemistry between Castle and Becket is so great, I wondered if the co stars developed any romance in real life like the couple in Madam Secretary… only to find out they allegedly despised each other…

Does this “rumor” bother you at all? If it’s true then those two should get an Oscar. They are really good onscreen.

Edit: After seeing the comments, I realized this is yet another symptom of my autism - difficulty of compartmentalization. It always amaze me how other people can keep different mental files for different contexts. Like the top comments said, they are good in the show and that's good enough. The upside is my brain also happens to be quite small and will forget the rumors soon enough.

Season 5, Episode 16

The guy doing all that weird sound manipulation, "you listen with your eyes"--

is there ANY basis in reality, whatsoever, within all that weird shit he's doing?

Honeymoon

I really disliked the “Castle goes missing” wedding plot and feel sympathy for Ryan, Espo, and Lanie expressing the (viewers’) feelings after the “elopement” about being cheated of a wedding- but the honeymoon episode at the ranch is jolly good fun! It sums up both of their personalities and shows how they have fun together too…

Castle is my comfort watch

Can’t explain but Castle being castle and beckett being beckett and kate, martha being the gram, alexis, javi, ryan they are my comfort tv show characters. The characters are very well written with good dialogues and arc. This show is underrated don’t you think?
