Rules:

Conversation must relate to PlayStation culture, hardware, games, or services in some way. Discussion of other brands or products is allowed only if there is a comparison or connection back to PlayStation.
Additionally, steering conversations to become overly-political or no longer in the spirit of gaming is not allowed. Appendix A1 further details and clarifies moderation of what is "overly-political" content.
3. No Spoilers
Do not post unmarked spoilers or put any spoilers in a post title. Spoiler formatting is simple to use and works on most mobile devices as well.
4. No Piracy
Do not create posts or comments seeking to actively engage in piracy, hacking, jailbreaking, gamesharing, account sharing, or distribution of game images with other community members.
5. No Solicitation
Solicitation of transactions of any digital or physical products, goods, services, or accounts is not allowed. This includes buying, selling, trading, contests and giveaways, and begging.
Sharing your PlayStation-themed original content (images, art, videos, etc.) is allowed, but posts strictly asking for account following or purchases of your content is not allowed.
6. No Impersonating Sony / SIE
Do not post claiming to be an employee of Sony or Sony Interactive Entertainment. If you wish to engage with this subreddit in an official manner on behalf of your company, please contact the Mod Team via Modmail.
7. No low-effort content or comments
Submissions must have enough substance to initiate a discussion or provide value to the community. Self-posts with only a title and very little or no text are not allowed. Comments must add meaningful value to a discussion (e.g. comments such as "I really want a new PSP", "I wish this was on PS4", or reaction GIFS will be removed). Before submitting or adding a comment ask yourself: "Does this add significant information or merit to the discussion?"

10. Always link to the original source whenever possible
If the original source is unavailable, you may link to an appropriate alternative. If a website copies or embeds content (like articles, videos, interviews, etc.) without adding substantial information, this is considered blogspam. However, if an alternative source offers meaningful analysis or commentary, it might be allowed, but prioritize linking the original source.
For sources that redirect to other sources, link to the one that provides the most context and information. For instance, if a tweet links to a developer's blog post or announcement, link directly to the blog post or announcement itself.
11. Submission Title Guidelines
Use the original title from the source when possible. If the title of an article or video is unclear, overly complicated, or doesn't meet the guidelines below, you can modify it to improve clarity or remove sensationalized or editorialized language. You may also add relevant context, such as the author's name, spoilers, NSFW warnings, release dates, platforms, etc.
Avoid using editorialized or sensationalized titles – Don't include phrases like "This deserves attention" or "Why isn't this being talked about?"
Avoid inflammatory language – Titles should be civil and free from clearly inflammatory terms to keep discussions respectful.
Avoid all-caps titles – Unless the original source title contains capital letters (e.g., some Japanese video game titles). Videos with excessive caps in the title may be removed at the moderators' discretion.
Keep titles concise – If a link needs more context or details, consider creating a self-post to provide the additional information alongside the link.
Titles must be in English – This rule has no exceptions for titles (see below for articles).

Problems with headset and controller connectivity.
I’m am having headset connectivity issues with the newer colored PS5 controllers. Whenever I plug my headsets in to these newer version controllers, the audio and mic will work and they will cut out if I move the controller. My headsets that I use work on other devices. All my audio settings are fine and there’s nothing wrong with my console. I have the original controller that came with the console and these problems never happen with that controller. The only issue is I can’t use that controller because the x button doesn’t work after awhile. I don’t understand why this only happens with the new colored controllers. I’ve returned controllers for new ones and I still have the same issue. Has this happened to anybody else? I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried nearly every troubleshooting method. Thanks!

Is the playstation portal worth it?
Hello!! My boyfriend is an avid gamer and owns a ps5. I'm not too knowledgeable, but I've been trying to think of christmas gifts for him and wanted to ask- is the playstation portal worth it? We had a baby in February and I think he mentioned it could be nice to have a while back, so our LO could either watch her shows when she's older or just not be able to see the screen if he's playing something more graphic (the tv is in the open living room). How does it run? Is it really worth the $200?

What is the best PS5 headset, mostly play Madden & call of duty
I've read lots of reviews and it seems like all the wireless headsets have connection problems, which isn't acceptable. I really want my kid to be able to use the 3d sound features. What has your experience been? Budget is 200 max.

Does the ps5 limit upload speed
I recently had virgin media installed with gig1 normally I was getting 80mbps upload so I decided to get symmetrical to make it faster but it's actually made it slower is it too fast for the ps5 so it has to limit it or is it something to do with the hub BTW I'm on 5gz because I get 400mbps download

Ps5 fan noise and overheating message
Lately my fan starts going very high and sound like the old ps4 jet engine. The console is a ventilated an open space, I did open and clean it (it only had a veil of dust, nothing big) but still the very second I open a ps5 game the fan kick in hardcore. If I play a ps4 game the console instead is so quiet I could barely figure out it’s on. If it was a fan/heat sink clogged the fan and heat warning should happen always right? Do you think it’s a cache problem?

I'm sitting here at my laptop trying to buy my husband a new PS and I have NO IDEA what the heck I'm doing. Pro? Slim? Do I need an additional disk drive, if so what kind. He is a gamer and I am not.....

Updated Info. I guess I should add that he currently has the PS4 with a ton of actual physical games which he is going to want to continue to use. I'm leaning towards the Slim if that does automatically come with the disk drive. I watched a YouTube video showing both the slim and pro and honestly, I liked the slim image better, but as I said, I have no idea what I'm doing.

What are PS Quarterly payments ?
I don't have a PS Plus subscription, yet I just got a notification that I have to pay a subscription fee of €68.57 to PlayStation. It's noted as Quarterly on my Revolut.
What can it be ? It's not enough for a full year subscription and its way less than the monthly subscription.

PS5 lag when starting
When i turn on my console and it starts up normally but when i select my profile it lags for 2-3 second it might be because of my rubbish plasma tv but it plays the game normally should i worry about it ?

My PS4 controller is not recognized by my PC
A few weeks ago I had to change the cable on my PS4 controller, and since then it is not only not recognized by my computer but also a yellow light comes on once and goes off, I've tried to reset it, but nothing works, I'm making this post to see if anyone can help me before I take it to technical assistance (sorry for my english, i'm brazilian)20:10 UTC

Dear Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino,
approximately 5 years ago I sent a message to Playstation via Facebook pointing out that the search on playstation.com was broken.
5 years later, and it's still broken.
It is one of the great mysteries that a company with a market cap of $117.52 Billion USD cannot not make their store searchable.
Can someone please explain this great mystery ?

3 days now I have attempted to get support via the only channel possible, though the online chat. When I advise I need a human, I get put into a lengthy queue, every time. Typically getting booted once the clock strikes 7pm (closing time)

Let's talk about PS Stars.
I'd like people to start posting more over social media about how bad playstation stars is. We were not only stripped off rewards durring the best sale of the year. But now we can't even get gift cards anymore. Even our points disappear after one year of earning them. So trying to save enough for a game worth actually wanting is just ludicrous. On top off that, there are still some rewards purchasable games, that aren't actually available. I'm more annoyed by such a horrible "rewards" program than anything and I can't be the only one that feels this way. Please just a post every once in a while on forums and social might bring some attention.
