If there was a special move or finisher in which we could impale random guards and other enemies wolverine style but without any blood, would ESRB force the rating up to M, or could they still keep the game rated T?
I compiled OpenGoal Jak 3 via Visual Studio and skipped around and started playing the last level. The dark maker walker is literally running away from me because I’m playing at 120fps and it’s sped up. The speed must be tied to framerate and I can’t catch up to it lmao.
It’s like playing the games for the first time again. I had a PlayStation 3D TV back in the day, and then I emulated ps3 on Steam deck with the Xreal AR glasses for 3D Jak.
Had the idea to do it on quest 3 tonight and it’s the best I’ve ever experienced. I am emulating the games at 4k render resolution on RPCS3 in 3D mode and using virtual desktop to make the games 3d on quest. It is insane. Make sure to turn depth all the way up in camera settings.
Think about it. Jak meets Tess with Torn in the alley. Beans can also be an alley.
Tess works in the Hip Hog bar. Beans could also be present here.
Tess makes guns in Jak 3. People who shoot guns might like Beans.
TESS IS A BEAN
I'm currently playing jak X on the ps5. Working on my last sets of TropTrophies. The ones where you need to upgrade 50% of all of the 4 attributes to the car's upgrade.
I'm currently working on the Armour upgrades hoping it gives me gearbox Trophies. Has anyone else experienced this kinda mismatched Trophies error. I'm going to be pissed if I upgrade everything and the game doesn't register that I did all the tasks.
Hello friends, the main google search link for the design bible is not functional it seems. Does anyone else have a copy to share?
The Jak and Daxter Bundle being in the Top 50 of PSN revenue and Top 55 of downloads is actually pretty amazing.
They're the oldest titles in the Top 50 by 8-12 years (The Precursor Legacy in 2001 to Jak X in 2005) with The Last of Us (2013) being the second oldest.
This is not even counting sales and downloads of the titles individually outside of the bundle.
Hey yall, I want to get a tattoo that shows my love for Jak and Daxter. I’ve seen some peoples tattoo and they’re awesome. I definitely want mine with no color and maybe relating to the Precursors, any ideas?? All help is welcomed.
They are entirely worthless annoying and repetitive. Not to mention it’s just the same track you’ve already played from the campaign. The fact that they tied these to orbs rather than hiding them around haven city or something is such a pathetic and lazy move
Just got the 4 Greatest Hits today in the mail, had to post 😎
Well, we know that Naughtydog's game as they have well said could be a new IP, and this suggests that it is not Jak and Daxter, but let's find out more about the details of the situation, and the REASONS why we have some hope (?)
I tell you the news points from my perspective:
1- they themselves mean that the games are different from their last 2 ip
2- but maybe it's a new ip so the chances could drop
3- they say it has a lot of freedom just like we had on Jak's games, even if this "freedom" is not well expressed or not, we don't know how they mean it.
They also said "we are happy with the different projects we have here at naughtydog" and then the most important part is that they also said that they will try something that they think not everyone will like, this is what gives hope or that they mean that maybe Jak sold a little less or was liked less than the others, which could also be a sign.
So we have a 40% chance I guess
We don't know anything else for the moment, but we have a lot of material that gives us "hope", tell me what you think, if they say that it's not just one project they have then maybe we have some hope!!
Just an example: Until Dawn. Why the hell a game like this needed a remake? https://www.google.com/amp/s/metro.co.uk/2024/10/11/dawn-remake-flopped-even-worse-concord-ps5-21777476/amp/
So I am seeing a pattern where people who have played and enjoyed the game get the jak and Dexter dream. I get it decently regular but it is one my my all time favorite game.
However, I keep seeing other say they dream about the game getting a reboot,a new level, or just had the character in it. I see it in the comments of the new community level show cases on yt and doing a quick search I see on Reddit people have dream of the game as well.
So I'm just curious how many of y'all get the j&d dream?
A few weeks ago, I decided to replay the trilogy, and the obvious choice was to turn to Open Goal. However, by the time I reached the end of Jak 2, I couldn’t bring myself to go back to the PS2 or PS3 versions for Jak 3. I decided to try the latest Open Goal build, even though it was widely announced as incomplete. I hesitated a lot because I was afraid I’d spend more time finding workarounds for bugs rather than enjoying the game. I absolutely do not regret my decision, and I decided to leave this post in case someone else finds themselves in the same situation as me.
For context, I played it on Rog Ally running Windows with the build published in early October 2024.
The framerate was impeccably stable throughout the entire playthrough, and I don’t recall encountering any graphical bugs during the game. In fact, it looked better than ever.
I did experience a few rare collision glitches where metalhead gems disappeared through the floor before I could collect them, but I’m unsure if this bug existed in the original version of the game.
Two or three cutscenes didn’t trigger, so I had to press triangle to skip them (and watch them later on YouTube).
During the race against the monks at the beginning of the game, I landed on a competitor during a jump. The game didn’t like that and froze.
However, two parts of the game forced me to use PCSX2. The first was after the conversation with Seem at the temple, when they hand you a precursor object. Right after jumping into the teleporter following this encounter, the game would crash. So, I had to make that jump using an emulator.
At the end of the elevator descent on the ship, just before the confrontation with Erol, the rest of the level didn’t load. Behind the elevator door was an endless void, with the only way out being suicide. Trying to load a save where the level was already loaded, during the platforming section to exit the ship, only resulted in a black screen. So, I finished this section using PCSX2 (farewell, my stable framerate) and only switched back to Open Goal when climbing the structure leading to the final boss. I suspect that the entire vehicle and spider robot phase was playable through Open Goal, but I didn’t bother testing it. From that point on, I was able to finish the game.
I focused on the main quests and only played a few mini-games, but the ones I tried were perfectly playable.
I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the development team. It’s absolutely incredible that a team of passionate, persistent, and volunteer developers managed to do infinitely better than anything Sony ever offered. It really makes me wonder what we could have gotten in terms of preserving and continuing this franchise if they had just an eighth of the budget allocated to the PS3 and Vita ports, or even the PS4 and PS5 emulations.
Thanks to you, I was able to completely rediscover one of my favorite video game franchises, which is a significant part of my childhood, and I had infinitely more fun than I’ve had with any AAA game released in the past 10 years. I’m sincerely looking forward to playing the final version of Open Goal.
