Why do character keep climbing over tables, LOU2? Playing on PS5

Playing on PS5. Is it a bug? Whenever I have a character hide behind a table, they just go over it without me doing it. It's gotten me killed so many times.

Abby skin not working

I’m trying to change Abby’s skin on the last level where you fight her as Ellie and it’s not working. Any fixes?

Thoughts after my first playthrough of The Last of Us Part 2

I finished The Last Of Us Part 2 two days ago and I can't stop thinking about it so here is a thread of what I think about the game-

What I liked:
- The story is fucking amazing, I don't hate a single thing about it

- The gameplay mechanics are so much better than they were in Part 1

- I love that I can switch my play-style with every encounter, it was kinda hard to just sneak past an encounter in part 1

- The animations and Graphics are top-notch, not much difference b/w PS5 and PS4 versions except haptics of course.

- the final fight is so good that I've replayed it 5-6 times already

What I didn't like:
- Could have shown Ellie return to Jackson, kinda weird to show her lose everything and then leave it kinda open-ended

- The Trap Mine should have been throwable like in part 1 I never used it

- HATED KILLING DOGS :(

- The main issue I have with TLOU 2 is that for the first 50% of the game you play as Ellie and then the rest is Abby until the climax, It is a good decision story-wise but for gameplay, I kept saving my resources as Ellie to fight Abby and did the same as Abby, and I just never got to use them

- As soon as I fully upgraded my Ellie gear I switched to Abby and when I fully upgraded Abby's gear I switched back to Ellie, although the gameplay time is long, this decision makes the game feel short, I wanted more time to be able to play as Ellie and Abby seperately.

But rest aside I absolutely enjoyed myself for the time it took me to finish this game, it has its flaws but they get overshadowed by the good stuff, I keep saying that RDR 2 is the best game I've ever played and now The Last Of Us Part 2 is a close second.

I dislike Ellie and I think I prefer abby than her for two peculiar reasons, are those reasons valid to you?

1- the first reason why I hate ellie is because she has sex with dina even if she is infected and can turn her into an infected. I know that in her diary, she said that cat wasn't infected even if they kissed but it means nothing, maybe cat could have been immune too and maybe that cat was just lucky. cat not turning into a zombie doesn't prove that kissing isn't infectious

she put dina in danger and also, we can assume that they did much more than kissing in the mouth in that scene, like maybe that kissing isn't infectious but licking in other areas can be dangerous.

2- the second reason is how dumb she is, tlou is supposed to be realistic but many scenes make no sense but one scene I have in mind, is the theater scene with ellie and abby fight.

so in all that sequence, ellie has a gun, a shotgun and a knife. ellie escapes after abby kills jessy and shoots tommy in the head. so after that, ellie runs away and exits the theater through the curtains then opens a door, abby does the same thing then ellie attacks her by surprise.

guys, I will do a quizz for you, which weapons she used to attack abby by surprise?

answer a) she used a gun and shot her in the head

answer b) she used the shotgun and shot her in the head

answer c) she used a knife and stabbed her

answer d) she used a piece of wood which inflicted no damage

GG well done, it was the answer D. that's all I have to say thank you.

those two scenes make me dislike her lol

biggest pet peeve in tlou

I’ll go first, It’s kind of petty but the fact people call the vaccine a “cure”, it’s not a cure. What they were trying to make was a vaccine to prevent already healthy people from turning, if they were bit. It wouldn’t have “cured” an already turned person back to human.

The last of Us left behind

So I've fully played through the last of us part 1 and now just be The last of Us Left behind. I thought it was going to be more of a story of Ellie and her friend got bit and then Ellie never turn into the infected and then she would tell the government and they think she crazy and would try to kill her and then she tried to find the fireflies. I didn't know Joel would be in any of it.

Why did Joel continue on?

So, I've been really into The Last of Us part 1 again because it's such a masterpiece. In the past week, I've watched cutscenes from the game at least three times. I'm a whore for Joel and a good story.

I've been wondering though. The thought came to me at the end when Joel said "You have to keep finding something to fight for." I had questioned it before but didn't think much of it.

But why did Joel continue to fight? Especially after losing his daughter? I think I would've took the route Henry did if I'm being honest. At first I thought, maybe Tommy probably convinced him to continue on, and that probably did play a role in it but I can't accept that that's enough...

I have two theories. Hear me out.

First. Joel continues to survive so Sarah is always remembered. If Joel or Tommy dies, the memory of Sarah does as well. All the time they spent with her. The unconditional love. It'll all be gone if he just gave up. I made the connection when he touched his watch after saying what he said to Ellie at the end of the game. That's his reason to fight. And he's fights hard to stay alive too.

Second. He continues to fight and survive as punishment for not being able to save his daughter. This one is kind of a stretch but not to far.

He also seems to believe in a higher power to an extent. But maybe if he were to die, he wouldn't be able to face his daughter in the after life, out of shame for not being able to protect her. We know it's not his fault but I would assume as a parent, the guilt is never ending.

Both are possible but I like to believe in theory one a bit more because it's very wholesome. Morbid? Depressing? For sure. But nonetheless, wholesome.

I don't know. Random thought. But let me know what y'all think if you will!

Any podcast that does in-depth analysis/breakdown of the show & not just a recap/casual thoughts?

Looking for a podcast that actually goes in-depth and does analysis or breakdown of the HBO show instead of just 2 guys recapping and going "Oh I loved X", "I cried when Y happened" etc without actually saying anything new that you already know if you've watched the episode.

I've played the game so I don't mind spoilers. I checked out the Bald Move podcast but so far it feels too casual. I also know there's an official podcast but I'm not interested in knowing about the behind-the-scenes/creative process stuff.

While we're at it, TLOU is my fav game of all time so if there's a great podcast on the game(s), I'll add that to my listen-list as well!

Thanks!

I hate that non fans are invading this subreddit

I need to vent about something that's been bothering me for a while now. I think it's total bullshit that there are people who only like the Last of Us tv show who are now in the game's community. I mean, how can they even call themselves fans when they haven't even experienced the game? To me, it's just not the same. It's like they're jumping on the bandwagon and pretending to be fans when they don't know any better. It feels like they're just ruining the space for real fans. Am I way off here?

It's seriously annoying. And the worst part is, it's not just happening here. I've seen the same thing in other fandoms, like Marvel. People only like the MCU movies, but they haven't even read the comics. They're in the comic communities acting like they know everything, but they're just bandwagonners.

I get that these tv shows and movies are bringing new people into the fandoms, but they don't understand what it means to be a real fan. They just see the shiny surface and think they get it, but they don't. It's like they're trying to take over spaces that aren't meant for them. And it's not fair to those of us who have been fans for years, who have put in the time and effort to truly understand and appreciate the material. It feels like they're disrespecting the fandom. It's despicable and disgusting that these people think they can watch a TV show and claim to be a fan. No, they are not.

I know I sound like a gatekeeper, but I don't care. If you're only a fan of the tv show, the movie, etc, you're not a real fan. You're a poser. You'll never understand the true depth and complexity of the stories and characters the way a real fan does. And you have no business being in the fandoms pretending like you do.

I'm a true fan of The Last of Us. I'm not just a fan because the TV show was popular. I wasn't aware of The Last of Usuntil Part 2 came out, so you know what I did? I got The Last of Us Part 1 and spent 14 goddamn hours playing that game straight through. I didn't eat, nor did I sleep. And when I got Part 2, I finished the game in two days. The people who just watched the show can't say that. I truly hate how these people are invading the real fans' fandoms. It's truly despicable.

Ellie being lesbian helped me to accept myself as gay when no one knew in 2014 and TLOU helped me with depression and anorexia !

Hi! I'm 24M. When left behind came out, it was at a time where I hated myself for being gay and had problems at school cause some people realized it and spread the rumor. My twin brother was homophobic at that time and my parents were quiet on the subject.

I also did anorexia and was depressed. TLOU was my confort game. There's an optional dialogue in Pittsburgh where Ellie ask Joel why the woman on the wall is so skinny and joel explains her that some people chose not to eat it for looks and she says "pff so stupid" it was really stuck in my head for a while. When I was feeling sad, I'd just play the game and i'd feel better ! I also did my first tattoo this summer and it's related to TLOU! Thank you if you've read until the end! :)

NG+ PS5 - Full Loadout Mode Question

Hi everyone, I beat the TLOU Part I for the first time in PS5 and just started a NG+ and got curious on the Full Loadout Mode, it says: "Play through the game again with all your weapons, upgrades, and recipes obtained in a previous playthrough. Weapons and recipes unlock when Joel retrieves his backpack in Boston."

However, I’ve already picked the backpack and I don’t have all my weapons, just the pistol and the health kit, the basic stuff. Perhaps someone else has been through this, I’d appreciate your help. I’d like to know when exactly I’ll get all the weapons and recipes.

Thanks :)

Which scene in tlou is the most emotinally impactful for you personally?

For me, it's definitely the firefly hospital scene when Joel finally tells Ellie the truth.

I love how many layers tis scene has, the writers did such an incredible job at giving clues and small details that gives us perspective. Like the way Ellie still cared enough to leave a note for Joel, or that Joel knew where to find her and hugs her as soon as he can reach her. How Ellie, despite not returning the hug, doesnt seem surprised indicating that this isnt their first hug.

and also just the pure heartbreak in Ellie's eyes here always gets me. I think this is the most well acted scene from Ashley, she absolutely nailed it.

Code name Jordan

Not sure if this is new news or not, but I just saw an article about the next Naughty Dog game being code named "Jordan" and it instantly made me think of the lyrics to Wayfaring Stranger. No idea if this is an actual clue as to what the next release may be, and in a way I think the use of such a code name for anything Tlou related would be too on the nose for any attempt at secretcy. Obviously besides the song connection there is also the character named Jordan in the Part 2, but I doubt that would have significance to any continuing or prequel story. Knowing Troy Baker is going to be in the next ND project makes me hope for a prequel to Tlou, but his involvement could just as easily be Uncharted related or something entirely different. The themes of the song could also easily relate to any game with a focus on "returning/finding home" and the various implications and incarnations that could take so who knows. So pure speculation for now.

Am I the only one bugged by this?

In the Last of us 2: No return gamemode, Am I the only one annoyed that Dina doesn’t have her story backpack but instead has the default green backpack. Jesse,Tommy, and Joel and I think Manny have all their story game backpacks so why doesn’t Dina?

Question about PS5 Trophies

I am playing through the game on PS5 for the first time (but probably 3rd or 4th time overall). I missed a bunch of collectibles and want to go back to get them. Can I do this and still get the Platinum or does it all need to be done on one run?

If I go to Chapter Select I can see what I am missing but the autosave overwrites my progress but then when I load up the most recent manual save from later in the game, I don't have the collectibles in my inventory that I went back to get.

Still One of the greatest Games

I just completed The Last of us Part II for the third time, the emotions and the beautiful and deep message that this game manages to give shakes something in me every time, and the gameplay...wow. i think it's one of the best Tps out there, the Gore is done right and you can approach enemies in countless ways and oh the AI of the Enemy! The fun that i had playing against human enemies I don't think any game has ever given me that....maybe only the F.E.A.R. Saga, am I exaggerating? I think the gameplay is one of the most satisfying and well done in history of gaming.
