Quick question, I thought HADES was stuck in the Horus machine, but we saw him transfer to the spire at the end of the game… so he could have left the Horus the entire time?

Also, if he could just move between machines, why didn’t he run away from the spire before Aloy stuck the Master Override into him?

Mostly for the fact I've had tons of experience in archiving material and knowledge for many topics which I still have archives of and have experience as a coach and a teacher. I'd love to design some of the curricula of APOLLO. Especially knowing that the Aristotle and Aspasia avatars debate with each other and the students of APOLLO, it'd be fun

I just finished Horizon Forbidden West on Ultra Hard difficulty on my very first playthrough—not a New Game Plus. It was a brutal but rewarding experience. Every encounter felt like a chess match, requiring careful strategy, resource management, and lots of patience.

I’m curious to hear anyone else who has tackled Ultra Hard on their first run. Before this, I 100% the just released Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, so there was some sort continuity minus the new skills and machines.

How did you find the experience? What were your go-to strategies or toughest moments? For me, taking down Apex machines like the Apex Fireclaw without fully upgraded gear was absolutely nerve-wracking which was probably harder than Specter Prime. My highlight is beating The Enduring and the cauldron Chi's Frost law without any legendary gear.

Machine oil? Fresh cut grass and citrus? Blaze? A clear running stream? Pine? Whatever corruption smells like?

And if it isn’t Aloy, who’s the best smelling character?

Does the game ever give an explanation as to what these two crystals actually are? It's been a long time since I went through the beginning of HFW so I don't remember if it ever gets mentioned.

Furthermore, do either of these crystals have any basis in real life? Greenshine emits a green glow even in pitch black caverns, and Firegleam literally explodes after being charged with electricity.

I know suspension disbelief is basically a requirement when playing a game that features gigantic robot dinosaurs, but it would be cool to find out that these crystals aren't as far fetched as I think they are.

This has been something on my mind each time I played especially since after years I discovered you can reenter Cradle 9 ( I feel completely stupid currently). Anyway, given how the end of FW works out could it be possible the Cradle doors and the educational area's start working?

Sorry for the dumb question. Just got the game and realized there is DLC, but I can't find it on PSN.

Is the DLC included in the base game now?

I've read that bows do 50% less damage if released before they are fully drawn. What is the threshold for this? Some video I found refers to a halo effect that occurs around the reticle, but I don't see it happening on my PC screen. Reticle closing could be a clear indicator, but it is affected by movement. Should i watch the bow drawing animation?

(I am not talking about overdraw)

So my friend has a Ps5 and VR and I've been dying to try the VR Horizon game. So i went over last night and did exactly that. First, if you have one or know someone who does. Go try it. Its so cool just being in the VR of this world. Now that being said.

Holy shit its kind of lost on me how big the robots are. I know we see Aloy come close to them. We know a Tallneck is..well tall. etc. But playing as 3rd person definitively takes some of the scale away. But when the watcher first popped on screen and it was the size of a horse. I kind of had this huge respect for humans fighting them. And then a Tallneck walks over you and I realized that they're genuinely ~100ft tall and that's freaking tall! And here is Aloy climbing them! Speaking of her, Idk if the VR takes your height into consideration but Aloy is shorter than I imagined. Im only 5'9 and she prob stood at about 5-5'2 ish. I was surprised how short she was (I'm unsure if she has a canon accurate height). Anyways this is really just my rant on how cool the VR was and how freaking big the robots are.

In the audio settings I had hifi on by default but there also the option to select headphone. Which one should I choose for? The headphone option sounds louder I think but I’m not sure which one gives the best surround sound.

My wife got the remaster and downloaded it onto our PS5 and has been playing it with no problems (yet), but when I tried to play it on my user profile it wants to charge me $10 to upgrade again.

Does each user in the same household have to pay to upgrade? We didn’t have to for the Burning Shores DLC.

What would be a tip you would give someone who is playing for the first time.

Hi. I'm currently playing through the HZD remaster on a fresh save on Ultra Hard difficulty. I did this with the original game also and while there are, of course, some challenges its been pretty smooth, especially this second time round.

I got Forbidden West on release and hence could only play it on Very Hard on my first playthrough. I've been thinking about trying Ultra Hard on NG for FW once I'm finished with Zero Dawn's Remaster. I was wondering if there are people in the community here that have given Ultra Hard on a fresh save a go and if so, what their experiences with it were?

Harder than HZD? Easier? Exciting challenge or grinding suffering? Thank you for any thoughts/advice.

I think it’s gonna turn out Nemesis’ primary personality is gonna be Ted and we’re also gonna get either a clone version (like Beta) of him showing up as well that escaped Earth way back ala Far Zenith or even the original man and the Ted we encountered in FW is a bait and switch.

He’s such an integral part of the story I don’t see how they can’t make him a big part of H3. What better redemption angle can there be other than him (or a clone) teaming up with Aloy to take down nemesis.

I know everyone has their own fantasy booking they want to see. Do you expect to see him in H3? Would you want to?

It's only my second one, the other one being Stellar Blade. I'm 45 and quite proud of myself. Even got a "good job Bro !" From my teenage son. The amount of pain in the ass was exactly right and it forced me to do the parts of the game I disregarded, which was a good thing.

So, yeah, that's all. I'm happy about that.

Instead it was switching to tap fire instead of overdraw on the ropecaster.

My muscle memory still wants to hold the right trigger down, and I end up firing ropes everywhere like a frightened kid given their first AK47 during a zombie invasion.

Last time I played everything was right before Forbidden West came out and I’m having trouble remembering what all happens in Frozen Wilds. Is Aloy’s knowledge and understanding of what takes place in the cauldrons and Old World stuff in Frozen Wilds also contingent on her understanding the existence of GAIA and Hades and Project Zero Dawn in the base game?

This probably seems all really silly. I remember playing my first playthru before Frozen Wilds even released, and I felt that finishing the entirety of Erends quests, as soon as that quest line starts before continuing with the rest of the “Aloy’s origins” quest line, made the most narrative sense. I’m sure there will be a lot of people that will disagree. But I kind of want to do the same thing with Frozen Wilds. Just want to know where you guys think it “fits best” in relation to the main story.

I may be really stupid but I genuinely cannot tell whether or not I own the DLC. I bought the game on disc second hand from a local buy and sell a while ago. It’s the complete edition and says on the back that the DLC is included but when I open the game it says it’s available now and I can buy it. The disc also doesn’t actually say complete edition, it’s only the case. I’m wondering if maybe someone just put the base game in and sold the game like that.

If I don’t have it, is it worth just buying the ps5 upgrade for the remaster instead?

I know you can in Zero Dawn but doesn’t seem case for forbidden west. I’d like to stock up on ammo and toss them into my stash so i can just refill everything with one button.

Crafting ammo at a bench takes way too long 1 by 1 so I stopped doing that. I’d rather manually craft on the go but still I like having my ammo refilled when I open my stash. I know I can craft ammo and toss that into the stash but that also takes too long.

Any vendors sell ammo?

Hello everyone, as the title says, HFW is on sale right now on Steam for about £26 (Store location is set to India and full price is about £40). Do you guys think its worth that much? I have purchased HZD and played it and quite enjoyed the story of the game. I am excited to see what Forbidden West holds in store, should I buy it?

Hello! I recently started replaying Horizon Zero Dawn and decided to play the remaster. I found the first power cell and and went ahead and took it to the bunker where I found out that I only need a total of two power cells now?? I previously deleted all my files and this isn't a new game+ so I have no idea why it's this few. Question is, does anyone know where the second one is (found the first one where Aloy found as a child) so I don't have to look in the other four spots?

By all means enrich the melee system for those who want it I use combos from time to time they're actually useful. But the pits are STILL tedious as all Hell. I read the instructions carefully and it says I did it wrong. I did the tutorial finally after getting the skills required I did all the things it told me shot the big blue bubble and it told me I did it wrong. I have no idea how I did it right but it wasn't the instructions. I'm now at the Bulwark being told to... do something different but it's exactly the same as the other halfmoon combo. I think? I don't know because I hit r1 r1HOLD then R2 and Aloy spins back. No jump no arrow shot but it tells me I did 1. But a jump and arrow shot are the end of the combo. I didn't do it. HOW did it tell me I did it?? And then I try to continue and it tells me I failed. I need to do FOUR???? Guerrilla??? Fix your game? Please? Yes it's beautiful and the map is HUUUGE but?? Am I an idiot?

Is there a way to turn off or turn down the effect that comes from the controller? It’s pretty loud and I have a friend who was complaining in party chat about it.

Is there a way to change the menu background or load screen background in Forbidden West? I beat Burning Shores and now the load screen is forever a dead Horus….

I am playing the original game in my PS5 by backwards compatibility but I'd like to experience the better graphics, 3D audio, special dualsense perks and etc. However, I still haven't beat the game... will my save game port over to the remaster so I can continue playing from there?
