Im upgrading my phone and it seems I may have to part with a game I adore called ag drive. Any suggestions for a good replacement, I came here because that seems to be your guys thing.
On another note. I can't remember the last physical book I purchased.
If anyone hasn't, then I'll be the one to fill the gap, even if it's 100% unofficial. Please critique my writing whenever you can.
The Return of Van-Über into the FX350 League
While Tigron mysteriously reappeared with the K-VSR for the 2210 season, operating from under the radar following their supposed collapse during the end of the F9000 era, Van-Über had enjoyed some moderate success in the FX300, with their ZR-330 Neo ship which had won the 2199 season, the only championship victory by the German team thus far.
As Wolfgang van Über himself was a four-time AG racing champion from the F7200 era, having raced mostly for Piranha, he had finally achieved his personal dream of leading his own namesake racing team to championship success. However, towards the beginning of the 23rd century, Wolfgang's health began to deteriorate as he was nearing his centenary years (he was born in 2105).
This was a period for uncertainty for the German team, and they opted not to enter the first few seasons of the FX350 and 400 Leagues due to increasing concerns over Wolfgang's condition, with his last public appearance being in 2206 as soon as the FX300 ended. By 2209, he would be bedridden, restricting him within his home in Lower Saxony, surrounded by immediate family.
Then on November 30th, 2211, Wolfgang had died peacefully, survived by his son Michael and his grandson Helmut. His funeral was attended by numerous anti-gravity motorsport personalities, including Belmondo Foundation chairwoman Natasha Belmondo, her husband Daniel Johnson, Race Commission Chief Executive Ripp Griffon and former F9000 Van-Über pilots, Nami Mishima and Alexander von Himmelreich.
Shortly after, Michael had recently transferred his baton to Helmut following Wolfgang's passing and became the new CEO of the company, to which Helmut had finally given the team's first new media announcement in years:
Fans of Van-Über Racing Development, it's been years since we had some unusual radio silence over our decision to enter the FX350 and 400 Leagues. This was mainly because our founder, and my beloved grandfather, Wolfgang, had been ill since then, and out of respect to him, we chose to sit out a few seasons to focus on his quality of life.
Even though he's gone, his dying wish was to restart our racing programs and create a radical successor to our ZR-330 Neo craft, the "ZR-340 Proto". It's what he would have wanted. We still believe in his ideals of "the purity of the race" and we intend to uphold his memory and legacy forever, even on the racetrack. Thank you for being with Wolfgang on his incredible 106-year journey, and we hope to surprise our race fans with further upcoming announcements.
- MESSAGE ENDS -
When work got underway with the ZR-340 Proto craft, it had traditional Van-Über performance written all over it, above-average top speed and explosive acceleration, but its trademarks were its traditionally outstanding handling and powerful weapons systems, but ultimately, this came at a massive price as it barely had any shielding at all.
Where Triakis prioritized shielding and safety, and Tigron with speed and brutal ramming, Van-Über would use agility for its approach when it came to designing a new tri-hull chassis, even featuring an experimental quad-airbrake system to their new machine. As a result, the tri-hulled body style became the next most revolutionary advancement in AG ship design, a new movement not seen since the F5000 and F7200 eras with dual-hulled ships.
And come by 2212, a year after Wolfgang's passing, Van-Über are ready and prepared to conquer the FX350 and 400 circuits, although they won't get by without a fight from their bitter rivals at Tigron. Nonetheless, they aim to exemplify Wolfgang's ethos of "the purity of the race" without resorting to brutal rivalries and grudges, especially when Tigron had started competing again a few years prior.
Got a neGcon and totally obsessed playing the older wipeout games with it. I'm trying Wipeout Fusion now, which everyone says is also compatible with neGcon. The controller is connecting fine to my mac using the raphnet adapter, and the buttons are able to be mapped in PCSX2 emulator correctly.
However in the games controller options screen, it only shows the options for Dualshock. I don't see any option to switch to neGcon. No matter what I do the game doesn't seem to recognize it's a neGcon plugged in, and when I try to race the controls are all messed up as expected. What is it supposed to look like when the game recognizes a neGcon correctly? Does it show a separate controller option on the options screen? I also don't see any reference in the instruction manual to using a neGcon.
Please help!!
At the in-laws house waiting for the Thanksgiving feast so I'm hiding in a corner playing HD/Fury

maybe the most intricate yet brilliant idea was the weapon jam in wipeout detonator...
Recently been getting into Wipeout for the first time with 2097 on my PS1. Loving it so far and looking into the other games... my question is, just how different are the ordinary and special editions of 3? I understand 3 has some changes and more content, but it seems to be rarer and more expensive, I'm wondering if any of you have an opinion on whether it's worth the extra cost.
Finally did a TT I've been neglecting
Still the best way to enjoy the original games I will die on this hill! December marks 30 years of PlayStation and (September) 29 years since the release of WipEout!
this put a (bittersweet) smile to my face.
Hey, could someone help me with some trophies in Wipeout Omega?
My PSN is: MrPawlo112
My team would be ag systems
Has anyone gotten a neGcon to work on a PS4 or PS5 using the raphnet USB adapter? How about an android emulation device? I recently got my hands on a neGcon, and have the raphnet adapter coming in the mail, in hopes of getting it to work either with my PS5 to play Omega collection, or one of my android emulation devices to play the PS1 Wipeout games. I read somewhere that the neGcon works on a PS5 for playing PS4 games (using the raphnet adapter), so fingers crossed. I haven't read much online about using the adapter to add the controller to android emulators. Any tips would be appreciated.
Is WipeOut available through PS Plus and if yes, which tier?
I am on vacation now so I don't have access to my PS4 to check.
I've been thinking of a WipEout fanon wiki for a while now, and I've made one in the FANDOM wikia. WipEout Fanon Wiki is a wiki for people (like me) who want to create fictional AG teams, circuits, lore, timelines, weapons, you name it. Even AU versions of FEISAR, Auricom, AG-Systems etc, are allowed. I'm looking for some of you guys who want to be an active admin on the site, along with me. I'm doing this as a WipEout fan (and enjoyer) for the fans.
Here it is: WipEout Fanon Wiki. It's brand new, so there isn't much now.
Both look awesome, can't wait to get home.
I want it bad...
Got a limited Michael Place / DR LP boxset if that would be a decent trade?

EDIT:
If I can't get it, I'll have to make my own book out of the pics I used to draw as a kid when I wasn't able to be actually playing for some reason.
I don't know why Wipeout and Mechwarrior existed in the same universe but it kind of works
And then later on when I got my PC with a $20 copy of Photoshop 4. There was only one level of undo on that so you had to be careful not to click the mouse on the way up to the Edit menu.
And then when I got an iPad I could draw inane abstract logo things. Like I can't figure out which way up this one is meant to be.
The music of Wipeout 2097 had a fairly massive and indelible effect on my musical tastes.
The exclusive FSOL and Underworld tracks remain to this day my top two of all time.
Strangely, the design of the game steered me towards Warp Records as the art of the musical experience seemed just as much a part as the musical content sometimes (Chiastic Slide by Autechre vinyl LP being a priiiime example - much as I love most of the tracks, the use of positive and negative space overlaid with a spot varnish from another dimension trumps all).
This was probably what got me into music production.
I don't love the new games as much as the PSX ones - something about the floating feeling and the sounds doesn't quite cut through in the same way, but that remix competition before the release of Omega was well-timed. I'd been having a bit of a musical block for the better part of a decade and this gave me a real incentive to finish something off and get it out there.
I gave it an honest shot but kind of missed the deadline, but kept on going because making music is important to me for some reason. At a certain point I realised that I had too many ideas all going on and I could split them into their own tracks and then suddenly I had my first Bandcamp release, and then 7 more followed suit. There's still echoes of something vaguely like 'Shake It' in one of the tracks. Logic sure crashed a lot.
There's a few tracks in there that are definitely inspired by being in the flow.
Speaking of which, it's funny that Underworld started playing Tin There again in their live sets. I wonder if the hype around the book was what prompted this (plus the Cold Storage remasters?). Anyway it's been a bit of a year for it.
I was lucky enough to catch them another time and they did. not. disappoint.
I guess that brings us to why this book is seemingly so important to me. Sometimes in life you go through periods where you realise you've given so much of yourself away that you barely remember who you are. Sometimes people expect you to change to suit them, but won't repay the same favour. Or they'll find a way to change the way you think and behave even when they're not present.
When you wake up to this kind of behaviour, you need to work hard to find a safe space, and then try to reclaim pieces of your identity, remember your old values. When I saw this book - specifically the Studio Build cover - I knew it was speaking to me from a time that predated all that, and it was the most iconic representation of the most meaningful cultural artefact of my life, a sign that having a game from 1997 hold so much meaning in ones life isn't a shameful thing, let alone allowing it to be the archetype that guides ones own actions and achievements.
Don't feel too sorry for me, part of the emotions associated with missing out, refreshing eBay every minutes kind of helped me sort through my own personal mess. We can be our own memories in that regard. And for the cost of a mid-range laptop, I did manage to snag this beauty...
Now get on that starting grid and fly fly fly
