I have the PS Vita version of Golden. I'm really enjoying it. I'm a good way in and have passed the fourth dungeon, really have a feel for the main gameplay loop.
But this ****ing fishing minigame is sucking all enjoyment out of it. I need to >!catch a Sea Guardian to complete the Hermit S-Link, but I can't even get that far. I'm still stuck on the ****ing Samegawa Guardian. I have read both fishing books.!<
I understand the mechanics. I have caught other fish. As per the spoiler, I have done the prep to get me in the best stead. I can consistently LURE the fish I need, that's not a problem.
I know to:
I can consistently get it CLOSE to me. The problem is as soon as I do, the line wildly and unpredictably FLIES to the far end and the fish shoot back out like a rocket. I can get the fish a bit back closer painfully slowly, only for the cursor to shoot to the side again and I'm back to where I started, only wound up and more prone to messing up.
This is PAINFUL. I would honestly settle for just a cheat code to bypass this unwanted and horrendously implemented minigame. I did the Persona V one and, although it's not one I'd care to repeat, at least it was, you know, DOABLE.
Will gladly take any advice I haven't tried, no matter how cheap or cheating it is.
It was an amazing experience, thank u to whoever told me how to get the true ending, that being said, imma do my usual thing:
1-Marie dungeon was so tedious, the “halving sp” mechanic doesn’t let u try the persona evolutions >:(
2- Black haired kanji 💀
3- You’re a dumbass.
Every day is great at your Junes 🎶
(I would say more but I can’t think of anything else haha)
Pretty much just as the text says like what a bro he might be my favorite character now I absolutely love him😭😭😭😭
Okay so I'm at Adachi's Dungeon & I don't know if I'm under leveled I'm at level 62, I'm at Magastu Mandala world 6. Funny part is I'm on NG+ and my first playthrough I had no problem with the shadows.
Hello,
I am currently stuck using this walk through. It says that I should always try to finish the dungeon in one go but when I finish the Shadow Chie fight it kicks me out and back to the real world. I immediately Alt-F4d because the guide says you have to do each dungeon in a single day.
How do I stay in the dungeon after the Chie fight?

This guy (which seems the most recommended) doesn't actually give a walk thorough of dungeons which is annoying and does not reference being force kicked out at all.
The Image is to catch your attention lol since I want people to read this since I kinda just want to talk about the game. I beat it today, probably started back in late October/early November, and today I finally beat it. This won’t really be organized really well at all really as I’m just saying whatever really pops into my head and I just want to talk about the absolute PEAK that I just played. Also I don’t have Grammarly installed lol. I want to do this more often because it's a really good way to reflect on the games that I play and I want to share my experience and see what others have to say about whatever game I choose to play. ALSO SPOILERS!!! You have been warned
God Damnit…. It's over huh. 87 hours, about 3 months or so…. and it's finally over. Once again, ATLUS has cooked up a meal so damn good, that you can only find it in 3 Michelin Star star, no, 4 Michelin star restaurant. A lot of people say that they cried. I did shed a few tears too… like 3 separate times as the game was ending. The first was when I was saying goodbye to everybody before the Izanagi final boss, the second was when I left Inaba, and the third was when Nanako and the rest of the investigation team shouted “Welcome Back!”. Honestly, now I just feel a little bit empty that it's over, but I’m happy I finally finished it.
This is my third Persona game now, following the other ATLUS masterpieces that are Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers (I’ll get to a version of Persona 3 soon) and I’d like to talk about how they compare as well. The ranking of the three games to me would probably have to be:
P5R >> P4G > P5S. (They are all PEAK though)
I feel that Persona 5 Royal was pretty much stronger to me in pretty much every single way, edging out Persona 4 Golden in some aspects very narrowly. The music was no real competition as I just prefer the style of P5R and P5S soundtracks more, but the ones in P4G are also amazing with my favorite probably having to be the title theme, Shadow World, closely followed by Reach out to the Truth. Something else that Persona 5 Royal has over Persona 4 Golden is the combat. I’m not saying that P4G’s combat was bad, I even enjoyed it most of the time, it's just that it got really boring at some points. The dungeon floors were kinda boring, and it just didn’t have the style that Persona 5 Royal does. (That being said, no game really has as much style as P5R does). Something interesting in my playthrough is that I realized REALLY LATE in my playthrough that the protagonist is sorta useless in many battles. He’s versatile, which is great, but in my team that included Yukiko, Kanji, and Teddie, it was kinda hard to find a use for me, especially in bosses. Yukiko hits like a truck going 100 mph down a hill, Kanji destroys bosses, and Teddie helps out a lot with the buffs and debuffs, leaving me to have to do a lot of the healing. There’s not anything bad of course, it’s just not what I was expecting and it strangely became the second Persona game in which the Protagonist became healer in the final boss. (Strangely against Maruki in Persona 5, Joker became the healer and Morgana of all characters became the attacking SP user in the team). One thing that I do like about the combat system in Persona 4 Golden when compared to Persona 5 Royal is shuffle time. Going into the game, I had no idea what it was, so it caught me off guard at first but it very quickly won me over. A fun little mini game after most battles that gives you little rewards, what is there not to love. Shuffle time also made fusing Personas kinda irrelevant. Once I got Cu Chulainn with Megidolaon and many more abilities of many other arcana’s, there was no need to get any other Personas since shuffle time buffed Cu Chulainn so much that everything else just became useless.
There are a few things that P4G does better than P5R in my opinion such as the voice acting. Now Persona 5 Royal doesn’t have bad voice acting by any means, far from it, beat the voice actors in 4 knocked it out of the park. It makes everything so immersive and really brought a lot to the game. Everybody likes to say that Persona 4 Golden has the best characters, and although they were AMAZING, I feel that they are about equal with Persona 5 Royal’s characters. I’d also say that the stories of the two are also pretty equal in how good they are.
Before I end this very, very disorganized review, I’d just like to point out some of my favorite and least favorite stuff in this game.
Favorite Character: Nanako. I’d say she rivals Makoto for my favorite character in the series for now. Shoutouts to Yukiko and Kanji as well
Least Favorite: Teddie. I started to warm up to him a bit towards the end, especially with how useful he was in battle, but a lot of the time he was just straight up annoying.
Favorite Dungeon: Naoto’s. It was never not fun. I was never bored in this dungeon. The fights were fun, I got exp pretty quickly which was nice, the design is cool, and Naoto’s character is really interesting. Heaven is a close second.
Least Favorite Dungeon: Mitsuo. Going into it, I was excited because the concept of the Dungeon seemed cool. It wasn’t. It was boring, the design got old really quick, the battles weren’t too fun to fight, and Mitsuo's boss fight is as bad as Okumura’s in Persona 5 Royal, maybe even worse. The boss fight took me 40 minutes alone and I was never in any danger of losing. It was just fighting a brick wall. I also feel that I could probably beat Okumura way easier now that I have more experience with Persona’s combat system to where it would actually be pretty fun and not frustrating.
Romance: Yukiko. Her hyena laugh, poor sense of direction (I think I’m using that right), and sometimes evil nature won me over.
I’d say that Persona 4 Golden is easily within my top 5 games of all time, maybe even top 3 behind Persona 5 Royal at first and the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and I’m really happy that I played it. Anyway, Metroid Prime: Remastered is next and if you happened to read this mess of a review, thank you.
TL;DR: I just beat Persona 4 Golden and just sorta want to talk about it, So please feel free to comment
This is my second Persona game, my first one being 5 royal, and for me this game is head and shoulders above 5. Love the story, the characters are fantastic, music is excellent and the camaraderie in the team is so good. For the romance, I chose Yukiko because she's best girl (don't @ me) and I think she and Yu are a natural fit (again, don't @ me).
That said, I have an issue with how this game handles the romance, specifically during the story events like the ski trip. Yes, you have an opportunity to choose your romantic partner to spend time with skiing (or with the boys), but at the same time during some of the cut scenes earlier, the game really elbows you to see Yu and Rise as a couple and as someone who's not the biggest YuRise fan (not my cup of tea), it got distracting. And I can think of a few other scenes where Rise would flirt with Yu or act like she's his girlfriend even though Yu is already in a romantic relationship with someone else and none of the girls except maybe Chie bats an eye.
I know the in-game reason is because Yu and his potential girlfriend are keeping the relationship a secret and from a programming perspective it's because it would very complex to take into account every scene. But as it is, it makes it feel like the game is trying to have its cake and eat it too, by giving the players an option to choose who they want Yu to have a romantic relationship with while also kinda elbowing them with someone else.
I know this is probably a non issue considering at the end of the day Persona 4 is ultimately about friendship, not so much about the romance, and considering Atlus usually keeps their lips sealed about the fate of the protagonist and who they end up with, so that they don't invalidate the player's experience. But at the same time, I just think if you're going to give the player the chance to customize their experience, you either need to commit fully or not give the option, instead of trying to have both ways.
I don't know, maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill here?>!!<
Hey all. I'm VA Ollie Wyman and I just wanted to let you know that I'm streaming P4G on Twitch every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 EST. We have a lot of fans in the channel, and we have a blast goofing on the absurdity and the dialogue (especially Teddie's), all in fun of course. Come join us sometime.

What a ride.
Possibly one of the best RPGs I ever played. I decided to go in blind and remained spoiler free throughout the entire game and I’m so glad I did that. However, I didn’t reach the minimum level required in that s. link and apparently am locked out of seeing the regular, true and golden endings.
What would you guys recommend I do next? New Game+ playthrough to finish all S.Links (only maxed maybe 5 of them, though I did max the 5 attributes) or go back to some earlier month and make different choices? Is New Game+ fun?
How well do both anime adaptations adapt the main mystery and story as well as the ending(s) of persona 4 I want to show my brother persona 4 but I want it to handle the plot and mystery and ending well.

God, what a perfect ending it didn't just tie up the ending, but the closure you feel with everyone a little older and a little more mature when you return, was the little bow on top of a great present. What a journey, and Marie being on the weather station confessing her love to your character was so good after her not showing up when you first left. Sorry I just have no one that plays persona games so I'm super excited to talk about this. It was such nice ending compared to p3r which just made me cry when makoto died, and everyone smiling when they got on the roof thinking he's alive and well. (still hella good though). What a journey, if anyone else has game recommendations let me know! I finished P3r,p4g, and p5r.
Didn't kill the failed politician, just was unable to find the right dialogue choices. Also Nanako's dungeon theme had to be my favourite within the game's amazing soundtrack. But yeah it was fun
Tohru Adachi to join Prison FC, here we go! 90 year deal to be signed, no release clause in place. Inaba detective ready for new chapter in his life.
First time playing so not sure whats wrong. I have her Social Link at Rank 1, like we only hang out that one time we skipped class to go shopping. then - she never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever appeared again. im pretty sure its now been like a month or something. even worse - now its summer vacation and i dunno if i can at this point meet her out of school, cuz the first time she spawned was in school at the shoe locker.
where the hell is she? i even did the shrine wish thing to get like points with her and the shrine says our relationship is ready to grow stronger - but i could never find her, searched the whole map i think... help.
Edit: after 300 years shes finally back and now i got her at like Rank 6-7 so all is solved hehe. took a big while tho.
