Long story very short I had a couple BFFs for decades and they turned out to be awful people, weren't really ever my friends and I just tried to force it to work having a 1 way relationship almost the entire time and they got so insane politically (I'm talking saying Hitler wasn't wrong etc...) I had to end the "friendship"

It's impossible to find new BFFs at this age, especially in a city you didn't grow up in. Sooo, the holidays are over, and my final semester is already finished, but the internship required by the school isn't. I still need to go to the office to work as an OJT student. I want to make friends, long-term if possible. I'll try my best to connect with people. I like to think that as long as me and the other person try our best, it's possible to create a healthy, platonic, relationship. I'm not searching for anything specific, because experience has taught me that oftentimes the best friendships are born from meeting someone who's a total alien to your own subjective reality. Still, there are things I feel like are required, but they're basic things such as: respecting each other's privacy, basic decency, civility, etc. Just a note about privacy: please don't ask me where I'm from, my real name, etc. I think that these things are naturally revealed through the process of getting to know someone. I don't feel very comfortable about sharing all the details of my life to a stranger on the internet right away. If we keep talking, you'll surely get to know it all. If that's a dealbreaker to you, message someone else.

It's important to me that the potential friend is willing to actually listen to me just as they're willing to talk to me. It might sound obvious, but sometimes we have the faux impression we're having a conversation with someone, when it's actually just a monologue with a spectator. Naturally, it doesn't mean i don't want people to talk about themselves, I certainly don't mind listening about your experiences, events in your daily life, views , etc. What I mean is that it's always good to listen as well as you speak and if it so happens that I'm failing in this regard, then please keep me in check. Don't overthink this or think of me as someone with too many requirements. All I want is to talk to another human for real and not just for the sake of doing so. Reality is dynamic, we can always switch from a serious topic to something lighthearted. That's pretty much it. Other than that, just be yourself.

As for my interests I like music (except rap, mainstream pop, country), movies (prefer older titles), games (stuff like Dark Souls and Silent Hill), literature (from philosophy books to poetry), nature, cats, and many other big and small things. I also like art.
