Social anxiety and depression have basically left me no better off now at 28 than I was when I left high school. I don’t feel like I’m a ‘real adult’ and have basically lost the ability to connect with anyone new because of it.

I can’t find the drive to actually go out and engage with people because I know I’m not the type of person people want to be around. But at the same time, I know an overall lack of social interaction is a part of my problem.

I don’t want to be a downer around others, but that’s just kind of who I am at the moment. I don’t really have anything to talk about. I don’t really have any special interests or skills that make me interesting, nor do I really have anything going on in my life.

Honestly, I’ve isolated myself for so long at this point, the thought of friendship almost scares me but at the same time I know that good relationships are healthy and worth pursuing. I do have some people I can call friends, but nobody really close enough to talk about any of this kind of stuff with. This is all a bit depressing I know, I don't want it to be but that's kind of where my life is right now.
