Usually, when I post on Reddit, I hardly receive 1-2 responses. 😅 So, if you happen to be one of those 2 people, then thank you. I joined Reddit 9 months ago, and I've been searching for a long-term platonic friend. It's quite challenging to find a close friend as you grow older. I've tried talking to many people, but I rarely get any responses back. And even if I do get a response, most people tend to be distant and cold. I find myself having to ask them questions repeatedly just to keep the conversation going. But eventually, it becomes even harder for me to maintain the conversation, and that's when it comes to an end. 😞 I understand that looking for close friends online is not an easy task. It's difficult to find common interests, and I've also noticed that most people only come to Reddit when they have free time. They talk for a few hours during that time, and then they never reply back. I know everyone has their reasons, so I'm in no position to judge anyone.

All I'm looking for is one close friend with whom I can talk on a daily basis. We can discuss anything you like. Let me give you a brief introduction of myself. Hello everyone, let me introduce myself: I am a girl (17F) with a great interest in history, especially contemporary history. I attend a high school with a linguistic focus, but although I am in my third year, unfortunately I realized that I made the wrong choice, surely I should have opted for a classical. Certainly after high school I will continue on a path leading to a degree in history. I am practically self-taught, considering that history is taught very poorly in schools, leading so many students to despise it: I study, research, read (perhaps too much), write... and over the years I have realized that the period from the early twentieth century up to the outbreak of World War II is the one I prefer. I focus mostly on Italy and Germany of the time (and beyond), although at this time I find the Italian position more interesting (unpopular opinion?).

Also, my intention in the future is to write a book set in an alternate dystopian universe during World War II. I will start working on it this summer, but I would love to have people beside me who can give me advice and support. I will do the same with you.

Unfortunately, I find myself having very few friends with whom to discuss Italian history (1920-1945) but not only; to have fun with and people with passions similar to mine, partly because my classmates have other interests and I don't have many other acquaintances outside the school environment. Hi everyone, hope your Friday is going well so far. Most of my neighbours left to spend the Easter holidays with their parents, so the student corridor is kind of lonely.

I’m 22F from Sweden, and I’m studying psychology and neuroscience at university. This is my 6th semester out of 10, so more than halfway there. Probably got a job I applied for at a psych ward because I’m working two shifts next week, and my boss(?) asked me when I want to work this summer, and ordered a health checkup to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. But she still technically hasn’t told me if I got the job or not, hahah.

In my spare time I like gaming on pc, and I’m getting a steam deck in a couple of days. Mostly ordered the deck cause my chronic migraines leave me bedridden a lot of the time, but I’m finally starting a new preventative medicine this Tuesday that I’m very excited and hopeful for.

Oh and I like cosy games, puzzle games, and mmos, mostly ffxiv nowadays.

As for other hobbies, I collect vinyl records, and I used to like reading but have been in a reading slump since I started uni.
